When Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was released years ago, Nintendo also sold a version of this adapter to allow people to play Smash using their GameCube controllers. Now that Smash Ultimate has been released for the Switch, Nintendo rebranded the adapter (removing the etched "Wii U" logo and replacing it with a generic "Nintendo" logo) and started selling it once again. The best surprise is that with this adapter, other games on the Nintendo Switch are playable with GameCube controllers. For example, if you subscribe to Nintendo's online service, you can play the retro NES games using the GameCube controllers. (Not sure if you'd want to with that tiny D-pad, however.) Give it a try!

The converter works great. Please note the black usb is for controls and the grey one is for rumble. The only downside is that I don't think there is a way to get into the switch menu with a GC controller.

I bought this along with the new Smash Brothers for my husband and he loves it. According to him, you won’t get the full experience of playing smash unless you play with a GameCube controller.

If you are looking for an adapter in order to use your gamecube controllers on your Switch, this is the one to get!! Works like a charm! This is perfect with Smash Ultimate right around the corner :)

I’m glad this came out the same day as the controller! I was worried it wouldn’t since there was no release date, but I got it! It works well and I can’t wait to add more controllers at a later time.

Good for those who have the gamecube controller. I had my original controller from years ago and adapter works perfectly. The cord it's that long IMO but good enough.

If you liked how the GC controller felt for Smash, you'll love being able to use them again. This saved me money from buying more pro controllers to just dusting off my gamecube controllers.

So far it's worked well for me. It's nothing special but it does what it's supposed to do and allows me to hook up gamecube controllers to my switch, and I haven't had any issues so far

Works very well, I know they are hard to find I dont knowing they are now but overall if you are looking to play super smash on the switch you definitely need this in your life.

Getting geared up for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and I needed my Gamecube controller for the Nintendo Switch. This perfectly works and not only with Smash(since it's not yet out).

A must have adapter for the Nintendo Switch. The Gamecube controller is one of the best controller and works great on switch with the adapter on classic and new games.

Bought in order to play Smash Ultimate. No issues whatsover. Works as intended and I have no complaints. A must buy if you want to use gamecube controllers with the switch.

The adapter works as advertised allowing gamecube controllers to connect to the Switch when docked. Does require two USB ports, one for data and one for powering the adapter.

Bought this for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. We used it everyday at work with 4 gamecube controllers connected. We have had no issues playing on Ultimate or Mario Kart.

Great for gamecube owners who now have a switch. They also remade the controller for non game cube folks. No better way to play smash bros.

This adapter just works. All inputs are responsive and you can use it for other games too (we used it for Towerfall and Ultimate Chicken Horse). At $20 it's a no Brainerd

If best buy ever gets these back in stock you wont be disappointed with your purchase this is by far the best way to play super smash.
