First off, this does NOT have a stainless steel tub like some of the pictures lead you to believe. That said. Still a very quiet unit in my opinion. Seems to do a good job getting the dishes clean. A little too easy to change wash zones without noticing (we always do a full load). Steam feature seems like it helps. I personally don't get worked up over how dry dishes are at the end. I don't waste energy on heated dry, I just open the door when it's done. Careful with installation. We have a pretty good lip on our counter, so I didn't get the leveling feet high enough. When I screwed in the brackets on top to the counter I apparently deformed the tub top slightly and screwed up the door switch clearances to where it wouldn't recognize the door as closed. Raising the feet and loosening the tension on those brackets and it works fine. The silverware basket works great when attached to the lower rack. Not sure why you would attach to door as it does not give you any more room. Overall there appears to be plenty of room.. Overall I really like it now. Real question like all the modern dishwashers is how long will it last.

I purchased this because my 12+ year old GE Profile stopped cleaning the dishes. It ran, but after trying every rinse aid product, cleaning the filters, wands and gallons of CLR we could never get clean glasses with our South Orange County, CA hard water. Add to that a few rusted racks and other various replacement parts, it seemed to be of better economy to replace the unit rather than try to keep it going. This unit was relatively easy to install as long as you have the tools. I'm a contractor with thousands of tools, but still, who has a 15/16" wrench in their standard tool box? Seriously GE, use a 1" dimension for the feet or is that the penalty you extract for installing it myself? Dimensions were accurate. The kit with all the necessary tubes, wires and connections is extra, but only because GE manufactures it that way. I can only suppose that's to get the price point down, so expect to pay an extra $30 for the kit. Front door is not high quality Stainless Steel like the GE Profile line, but there in lies the sacrifice for price point . One of the things you can't tell when you buy online. Magnets stick, so I expect to start seeing rust marks about the time the warranty expires, or this will require constant cleaning with SS Cleaner. An extended warranty plan may be less expensive than a new door? Interior is dark grey plastic, rather than bright white, and a bit foreboding. Otherwise it's well organized with the standard GE racks. Plenty of room for daily dishes, water bottles and smaller parts. (My wife and I are cyclists and go through lots of water bottles) Operation is simple. There are various cleaning programs, but after 12+ years with a Multi-program Profile model and never remembering if I had ever used anything other than the standard wash cycle, we opted for the simpler model. We're on our 5th cycle since installation (including Christmas dishes, ) and things are fine. The glasses are CLEAN!!! There is a strange drainage sequence of three purges, but we'll get used to that. It runs acceptably quiet, but you can definitely hear it if your in the next room. Again, value oriented. Pretty and it works great new, but a few compromises. We'll see if we can get 12 years plus out of this one.

This dishwasher is virtually silent and very effective. There are only two down sides so far. The silverware tray is almost useless if you hang in on the front of the rack or the door. It works fine on the sides or back. I'm not sure how that works but it wont clean spoons on the font of the rack. The other issue is it takes FOREVER to complete a load. the first time I started a load and it said 220 minutes I actually laughed. But, everything comes out clean and dry for the time needed. (note, that was a steam sanitize cycle, the average cycle is still over 160 minutes)

Bought this GE dishwasher after first purchasing a KitchenAid at BB for almost $200 more. The KitchenAid stuck out beyond the countertop and did not dry very well at all. Returned it within 10 days and bought this GE machine. I was shocked to find the higher priced KitchenAid did a worse job drying than this one. This dishwasher is not quick, taking over 3 hours to run on the Nornal cycle with Sani Rinse and Heated Dry options selected. But honestly the KitchenAid and our previous GE model took just as long. With the Heated Dry option, there is still a little bit of water on cups on the top tray (no rinse aid used). People seem to be really interested in “quiet” dishwashers. This one is ok. Not super loud, not super quiet. Our last GE dishwasher leaked from the front door the very first time I used it. Service guy couldn’t figure out why so he tilted the bottom panel up making the water roll back instead of leaking. Well, 3.5 years later (we run ours every other day) it started leaking again and several tines inside the machine started rusting and broke off. The last thing I wanted was another GE. But when the KitchenAid didn’t fit properly had to go back for a GE. Surprised to find that this model cleans as well and dries better than a dishwasher priced (and rated) much higher. There is a Control lock which is handy if you have small children and a Time Remaining indicator which is helpful. All in all, quite pleased with this dishwasher, Installation service through BB was terrible. The Best Buy folks were good, but the contracting service they use overbooks/overworks their people. Delivery guys showed up nearly 2 hours after the given 4 hour window. We had a 12 to 4 window on a Saturday and the guys arrived at 6:15.

Purchased this to replace an old unit. This unit is much quieter than the old one, but the wash cycles are longer which doesn't matter since we run the washer overnight for the most part. Drying feature works well. We have had a few cycles in which the soap dispenser didn't open fully due to a utensil that blocked the soap tray in a cycle. Not sure how to prevent this given the utensil tray location. Otherwise a good upgrade.

The unit is very quiet. I can get all my dishes and pots and pans in it no problem. I love the steam function, it gets dried on stuff off and my dishes are clean. I like the bottle washing feature also. Works not only on bottles but large items too. The optional glassware racks are brilliant. Perfect for my stemware. This ia the best Dishwasher I have ever had. Really glad I got it.

This is the second one of these I have installed recently. They are cheaply made (mostly all grey plastic with a stainless steel front panel cover to disguise their construction), but perform just great. A few GEs including this model and Whirlpools have the silverware rack mounted inside the front door (a firm requirement by the users.) Most importantly, unlike their Whirlpool predecessors, these two didn't leak! There are no rollers but four metal leveling feet on the bottom that will gouge tile or hang up on linoleum, so I bought a set of four furniture slides that work fine. These are much quieter than the twice-as-expensive all stainless steel Whirlpool units we replaced. Be gentle opening and closing the front door, as the plastic won't take a lot of rough handling. So far, I'm thinking there's a lot of bang-for-the-buck here, so I have no problem recommending this model for your consideration.

Dishes come out very clean. Most everything about this dishwasher is great. My only criticism is that the top panel looks and feels kind of cheap. Wish it were the same color and material as the face of the dishwasher.

I've had this dishwasher for about a month. I had Best Buy install, the gentleman was on time, friendly and knew what he was doing. I read the on line manual and they gave recommendations to use Cascade (I use the powder not tabs) and a rinse aid. The dishes are clean, I just scrape them off, and run it 1-2 times a week. I did play around with the amount of soap per the manual. I have a water softener and use water at 115 F. To save energy I turn off the heated dry, & just open the door, so I can't comment how well the heated dry works. My 17 yr old replaced washer had a non heated dry that still circulated air, it does not appear to be an option on this one, which I miss. The inside is smaller than my old one, but it is 10 x quieter, it appears I lost inside space to better insulation for sound reduction. It has an option to just wash the top or just the bottom, which is nice if you've run out of glasses. the silverware holder can go on the door or rack, the installer recommended the rack, and sticky forks come clean. I'm happy with this dishwasher.....it cleans dried on food and is quiet. You may need to play around with your amount of soap vs water temperature, and if you have well or hard water.

There are many models with a lot more features, but those features come at a cost. This model has many of the features that more costly models have but still manages to stay under $500 (in some stores). It's a great dishwasher, does a good job getting dirty dishes clean and has the appearance of a more expensive model - what's not to like?

LOVE the bottle jets. Cleans good, but the cycles seem verrrryyyy long. It's a little louder than my old dishwasher, but bearable. I don't like that the lights stay after cycle and when you open the door and then re-close door. That seems like a needless waste of electricity.

We were looking for a quieter dishwasher because our old one sounded like a jet engine. This one fit the bill. I can barely tell it's operating. Plus we have new features, like auto-sensing what mode to use and the food grinder. My only issue during installation was trying to get it installed without the insulation coming off. It's not really attached to the outside of the tub so as I would push the dishwasher under the cabinet it would catch and bunch up.

I purchased this dishwasher along with all the other GE Slate Products mainly due to the fact that the buttons were on the front and it included a timer that displays the remaining time left in your cycle. That was THE most important feature to me in a dishwasher. Of course the other features mattered but the countdown timer was what I was wanting the most. This dishwasher is a slate/grey color on the inside as well so you don't have to worry about it turning yellow or anything over time. It also runs pretty quietly compared to older dishwashers and I've had nothing for love for it since day one. I definitely recommend this!
