Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the 24" Hidden Control Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance. Many appreciate its ability to thoroughly clean dishes, including those with baked-on food, and the convenient bottle jets. However, some users note that the wash cycles are longer than those of previous dishwashers. The ease of use is also frequently praised.

So far we have had weird issues with this? The LCD screen did not work for the first few days then the text started showing. We have a service person scheduled to come out. There is water in it several days after a cycle. Not a pool just wet interior. Very strange.

For being the number one rated dishwasher on the market, this thing is awful! To begin with, it takes 5 hours to run a load. And, after that 5 hours, the dishes still don't all come out clean. You have to put them in nearly clean to begin with. My old dishwasher, I could put things in with caked on food and they'd come out crystal clear, but not this thing. What good is a dishwasher if you have to wash the dishes before you put them in?!

Hello JKAK - thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your dishwasher. We are very sorry to hear that your dishes are not coming out clean after five hours. While the new dishwashers take a bit longer to run a cycle, depending upon the options selected, they are still very energy efficient. In order to assist with the cleaning performance of the dishwasher, it is necessary that the water enter the dishwasher at 120 degrees F. We recommend that you run the hot water at the sink a few seconds prior to starting the dishwasher so the water enters hot. We also recommend to use the "Wash Temp Boost" option. If these suggestions do not help, we recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. Thanks for choosing GE Appliances! NANCYatGEA GE_Appliances

Just a few days past the one year anniversary of our purchase and end of the warranty, the pump broke. The dishwasher is quiet, cleans well and we had been very happy until this happened. We had to pay GE Appliances over $100 to come out and assess the problem. We were told that someone would be back in a week to fix it. For the past month, we've been told that the part wasn't available and the repair continues to be postponed. Meanwhile, we have dirty dishwater sitting in the bottom of the machine and after many calls to the repair people we are still waiting. This was an expensive dishwasher. One year is not an acceptable life span. One month to get it repaired is also really not acceptable. We were able to find the part available for overnight delivery online for $50 less than they will be charging us. And we'll have to pay over $400 to have it fixed.

Prior model- 725- quit after less than 3 years

I suppose GE discontinued the CDT725SSFSS model, I bought this less than 3 years ago for our new home and its now kaput. I understand this is our of manufacture's warranty, but a Cafe model can't even last 3 years? Only used once or twice a month. Our last dishwasher was builder grade in a house we purchased and it was still going strong after 17 years when we sold the house.
