To play this game again is just fantastic. The updated graphics, the voices, the rev of the Lancer chainsaw, the multiplayer maps and modes....all of it back in full glory. I only hope they do this to all of them and I can't wait for the 4th game.

Probably one of the greatest games ever made this remaster is fantastic gameplay is awesome it's like getting together with an old friend you haven't seen for years I can't wait to play the full series except for the bards tale I think they could skip that the whole Darkside of Gears altogether can't wait to see what comes up I really love you and really just fantastic all the way around can't wait to see what's next for this franchise and you get all the games for 39.99 you would have to be an idiot not to get this for me in the famous words of Marcus let's do this

Gears of war back in full effect the upgraded graphics vastly show off all details not previously noticeable on Xbox 360. Nothing like a good chainsaw or two definitely one of the better remastered titles.

I have always been a Gears of War aficionado. I have played the whole series since it's first launch. This game is the original but with enhanced graphics and extras. Love it.

I can't stop playing this game it was a favorite on Xbox 360 and now on the one ... This game has it all and some.

This is not a simple remake. It was handled properly and it has extra content added to the game play. More chapters, collectibles with better graphics, 60 fps, and 7.1 sound. It brings the original to a new level. Microsoft handled this well, but they still don't understand HD collections. I would have like a complete collection with all the games, but that would have taken too long I guess. Still, it is fun to play it again. It looks and sound great. The new content really makes it worth the purchase. Hopefully we will see more proper remakes.

Hard to believe this game is turning 9 years old this year. That being said, Splashdamage did a wonderful job bringing the 360 classic back to glory. The graphics are great and the game play is pretty well rounded. What they did differently in the remake was, they did 60fps in the multi player. Rather than the single player. Reason being is the amount of ai's in the single player would bog it down. The multi player is a blast. They're some issues with it. Such as the shotgun being inconsistent and rubber banding once in a while. But nothing game breaking to not buy it. I highly recommend this game to every fan of the original gears.

I have been a Gears of War fan since 2011 when Gears of War 3 released. I have always wanted to play Gears of War, but could never bring myself to do it because it was so old. I am now able to play Gears of War the way it was meant to be played. Amazing graphics, an excellent story, fun controls, and multiplayer that is enjoyable if you have a pro team to back you up (constantly getting crushed by DEDICATED fans). Nothing feels better than chainsawing the person who has been spawn-killing you. Consider picking this up!

I've played all the Gears of War games so I was excited to hear that they were taking the original game and remastering it in HD for the Xbox One. After playing through it for a few hours I have to say that it's lived up to my expectations and it's a nice trip down memory lane. It's a great bonus that you also get the other Gears games once they become available for backwards compatibility download and access to the beta once it starts. All this for only $40 is a great deal!

This totally knocks it out of the park. Amazing updated visuals. The same great gameplay and added multiplayer features from newer games in the series. Added with the availability to download all games in the series when backward compatibility comes to Xbox One closer to Christmas and you absolutely cannot beat this, especially for the price.

Gear of War has always been a great franchise. This definitely brings me back to the days when I played hours upon hours of online multiplayer. The graphics look better than ever and the new campaign cinematic have been improved. Dedicated servers online make it for flawless entertainment and keeps the connection to the game all the time.

I'm currently in the middle of the game, the only one in the series I had yet had a chance to play through (not recommended to do, always start at the beginning!). I've seen the comparisons AND I've noticed them! Most "ultimate-definitive-special-GOTY" editions are only a quick port with some tweeks and nothing you wouldn't expect. Gears is not your typical remaster by far. It has some added levels (The Coalition is the developing team this time around, building on to EPIC Games already impressive series opener) which is unheard of in a remaster. The graphics have always been in fine shape, even ahead of it's time. I can actually see OBVIOUS changes. For the better good even. The multiplayer has been updated to the controls and mechanics of the serie's sequels, and handles OH so MUCH better. Really. Go snag a copy, along with a GOW4 Beta code guarentee, and see for yourself. I'm amazed.

Great game, 9 years ago. I loved the original and this looks better and plays the same. Fun game if you're a fan of the series and campaign is worth playing thru one time. Multiplayer is pretty good but not my thing. Would have rated higher but it's a remake and I got bored of it quickly. Great game, just not for me anymore.

Its classic gears with a face lift and some extra content. The PC exclusive maps and story have been added. The multiplayer is still solid and fun. Also at 40 dollars this is a good deal. With Best Buy Game rewards its 32 another steal. Get this game!

This has the best campaign in the series and now it got even better with improved graphics, framerate and added chapters that were only available in the PC version. Multiplayer is also better than ever with the butterlysmooth framerate.

This game is a remake of the first gears and the better graphics and sound exceeded my expectations. The multiplayer is even better because we now have dedicated servers which makes online play smoothly with no lag.

This game is just a beautiful remaster of the original Gears of War game which appeared on the Xbox 360. It includes the chapters that were originally only available on the PC release of the game, for the first time on a console. The game looks absolutely beautiful and plays the same as the first one did, and includes the same achievements. If you missed out on the original release of this game, do yourself a favor and play it. The story mode is relatively straightforward, fight some monsters that came out of the ground. The game truly shines in the multiplayer mode, which is what attracted so many to the game so many years ago. The game in my opinion still holds up, and is still a joy to play with or against friends.

If you've never played the original Gears of War on Xbox 360 now is the perfect time to play it. A classic Xbox 360 third-person shooter with updated graphics but the same stellar multiplayer and story.
