The light given by this bulb is very nice. It can change from white to the more classic hue. Unfortunately the application is horrible. If you just want to have the bulb come on and off at certain times it's okay. If you want to set it to come on at Sunset it then becomes a very complicated procedure. It then comes on at whatever was the last brightness or color you had it on. I can't mention other brands in the review, so I'll just say that with another brand I can create custom scenes and have them activate at whatever time I desire. The Geeni application even had some text in what I guess is the Chinese alphabet. I'll attach a screen shot. The application is so bad that when you set the brightness you can only see a number value, with another product I have you can see the brightness as you are setting it. Same goes for color temperature. So on the Geeni app when you set the brightness the only way to know what it is, is to wait for the bulb to run that setting and that's if it works. It's too bad the application is so poor because the product itself is good. I returned it and a Geeni Plug to get the product I already had which is better.

This is the second geeni brand smart thing I've bought. Don't get me wrong, it's still a smart light and it has some cool custom scenes in the geeni program itself. It does not work well at all with Google assistant, colors are off if you try to use Googles custom color palette. The worst part of this thing is that we have two ssids on our router with the same name so it's great for connectivity with normal use but I had to force 2.4gh on one of the duplicate ssid channels just to set up the light, however once connected to the network it will work fine abs you can connect your phone back to 5gh. Geeni is cheap for a reason. Still a good deal considering I was able to get it to work. Be warned, you need access to internet and 2.4gh band to get this to connect and update.

For users with dual networks having the same ssid, the trick to set up is definitely to switch off the 5Ghz first. If you have an Orbi, you can’t do that so you set to 25% and walk far enough away with your phone to know it’s on the 2.4 rather than 5 band. This version is dimmable white plus all the other colors, which are all Alexa enabled as a bonus

I was thinking about going with a more known brand, but liked the features of this bulb. The app lets you tune any conceivable color, warmth, and brightness. This bulb also has a feature that will automatically scroll through colors. Adding the bulb to the app is amazingly easy, and takes less than a minute. I will definitely buy more.

Its easy to set up not needing any type of hub, only an network. I operate it using Amazons Alexa... also am able to use it though a Geeni application on my cellphone. I am contemplating purchasing another one for a different room.

I had to return this item, due to the fact that it didn't want to connect to my wifi. It doesn't specify on the box that you need a certain connection to connect to. All it says on the box is that, it doesn't require a hub to be operated.

I've tried everything, different light fixtures, AP mode and all, the Geeni light strip connected after multiple failed attempts but this bulb just won't connect. I got a new lamp in the other day to do a final connection attempt with and now I can't return it...Sorely disappointed in this product.
