Generally great selection of classic Genesis games, and effectively the best bang-for-the-buck value for Sega fans.
However, two things brings the value of this collection for me: the input lag (where input lag is the time it takes for your gamepad input to actually register on the screen) was enough to make certain games annoying to control over their original versions (I own several original Genesis systems and cartridges). Particularly, Ristar was frustrating because there are areas and enemies that require tight timing to grab, swing, and dodge, and timing a wall-climb or even back-and-forth up a vine or pole was unnecessarily more difficult than on original hardware (including on my Sega Nomad). Worse yet was the timing of the mid and end of level pole swings. Ristar fans know that releasing the swing with precision and proper timing is crucial in these parts of the game.
The interface set in a "90s bedroom" seems charming at first, but I quickly felt like it was too cumbersome. I also disliked the inability to configure your controller buttons on a system level. There are individual games which inherently let players configure buttons, but it's sad that we can't do it from the main menu for all games.
This collection is generally worth it for the slower games and most definitely for the RPGs as they don't rely on precisely timed controls. Go for it if it's on sale in that case. However, if you are sensitive to input lag then reconsider this collection for a bit; it's a great collection of games let down by so-so emulation and a surprising lack of controller customization.

This collection has a well rounded selection of games. These games come from the SEGA Genesis 16-Bit Generation; you don’t get Phantasy Star 1 witch was on the Sega (Genesis/Mega Drive) in Japan only. Phantasy Star 1 was available on the Master System (8-Bit Generation,) in Japan, U.S.A., Europe. Phantasy Star 1 the Genesis version would make a nice addition to the other Phantasy Star games on the cartridge.
This cartridge is still a good value and has Shining Force 1 & 2, and the Pre-Shining Force, Shining In The Darkness game. Super Thunder Blade is a good inclusion, and so is Kid Chameleon. Ecco The Dolphin is missing and so is Ecco The Tides Of Time. Ecco Jr. is not there ever. Vectorman 1 & 2 is a great addition.
Streets Of Rage 1, 2, & 3 are beloved and a with Golden Axe 1, 2, & 3, great multiplayer games.
Gun Star Heroes is a wonderful game and 2 player.
No racing games were included this means no Virtual Racing with emulated S. V. P. Chip or other racing games without that chip. Witch means no OutRun or other games such as Super Hang-On. Does have RISTAR a great platform game. Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2 are in the mix the 2 best selling games on the SEGA Genesis were platform games.
Crusader Of Centy is Zelda clone that is not in the selection, but Beyond Oasis is there, and I am told it is a great RPG. Toe Jam and Earl games for the Genesis are both there and are exploration, action based games nice additions to the package.
Columns III is a puzzle game and so is Dr. Robotics’ Mean Bean Machine so, SEGA put out a well rounded package.

First off, the selection of games in this collection is excellent. There are always a few titles that get snubbed in compilations like this, but what's here is great and serves as a solid representation of the Genesis library. If that's all you're after, you're set. Buy it and enjoy it.
On the other hand, if you're looking for more than just old games running on an emulator, then there's not a lot here for you. Other similar compilations, such as Capcom's Mega Man Legacy Collections or SNK's Anniversary Collection, include extra material or play options that help present their games in a fuller context. These extras are pretty sparse in this release. Some of these games have alternate arcade versions that aren't included here and there aren't any concept art/promo material galleries or anything along those lines. Other than save states, there aren't any extra gameplay options, either. You can tweak the presentation, and there's a rudimentary achievement/challenge system, but that's it.
If it sounds like I'm being harsh, it's only because these collections of games can be incredible when a little extra effort is put into them. Don't get me wrong, the selection of games here is huge and awesome and I'd still recommend it to most people. It's just a little disappointing that we're missing out on some of the other content that we've come to expect from these types of re-releases.

To be honest, I could play all these games on my raspberry pi; but the fact that I can have them on my switch; and in a single card, is the main reason for me to get this collection.
There are a lot of classig megadrive/genesis games; most of them are the best games made for the console; and beside few missing titles that I would love to see on the console (like some more fighting and driving games; in lieu of the many phantasy stars ); but overall the collection is very well balanced.
The graphic is 1:1 with the original; and you can enhance it if you like, using filters; also you have the chance to save states for each game (up to 3), so you can just save the game at any time and continue again from that point; the beauty of playing old games on a modern console.
It is mostly aimed at old owner of the console; since most of the games are not really holding up to modern games; although with the explosion of retro games and metroidvania pixellated games, you can almost sell these games as new.
Get it if you do not have a raspberry pi or another console that can play emulated games; otherwise it is up to you to decide if these old games are worth 29 dollars.

This collection includes a huge array of some of the best games from the Sega Genesis, and at the $30 price point, it's well worth it, even if there are only a handful of games that interest you. Personally I've spent most of my time playing the Phantasy Star and Shining Force games, but it also includes several Sonic classics, Golden Axe, and many other great games.

This collection oozes my childhood of gaming. When I was 10, for Christmas, we got a Sega Genesis. Naturally, my brother and I, played a bunch of these games, and spent many, many hours doing so.
I love this collection, happy to have it on Switch, perfect game to take anywhere on the go. This one is also a great value when you consider 50+ games, the per game price is pocket change. There is something for everyone on here.
Check it out!

I bought my Sega Genesis after saving up from a paper route. Yes I’m that old. But now that my kids have a Switch I couldn’t resist buying this. Some games were old time favorites and others will be played for the first time. Also can’t be the price. My kids have interest in this too because of the recent Sonic movie too.

Sega has some amazing IPs that they've let lie dormant for too long, but at least this collection lets you play the oldies on the go!
Best additions to this collection since the last generation release is Gun Star Heroes and the 2 Toejam and Earl games!
Wish this release came with a poster like the PS4 and XboxOne versions did though . . .

If you are looking to take over 50 Sega Genesis classics with you on the go then look no further. The Switch is the perfect home for these games for portability and multiplayer for the games that support it. Since Virtual console is no longer a thing buying game collections are the way to go. I would recommend picking this collection up.

This collection has every single sega genesis game I love.
All 3 Streets of Rage games, Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, Beyond Oasis, Landstalker, Comix Zone, and plenty more. With Streets of Rage 4 being released soon this is your last chance to have a physical copy of every single Streets of Rage game on one platform, plus I cannot stress how lucky it is to have Alien Soldier on a physical format.

$30 for 50 retro games is a steal. They're not all mega hits from the past, but all my Segafavorites from childhood are here and a good number of games I've never play as well. I'm having a blast playing with my kids. All the games I've played play spectacularly and look great. Sega added some nice touches, like the menu presentation looking like your expect a kid's room in the 90s to look, complete with actual slotting in the cartridges to a Sega Genesis to start each game. Theyve also included options to emulate the visuals (and issues) of a CRT TV for those that want to go full on retro. This is one heck of a package and well worth the price of entry.
