Amazing Laptop. Has hold out very well for 2 years now, performs close to as well from the day I unboxed it. A little on the heavy side but for good reason. Gorgeous screen!

It has the WiFi issue when the GPU is under heavy load. You can see ping times go from “normal” WiFi latency to the high 100’s to higher and higher until complete packet loss. Seems to be fully heat related. I use a LAN connection so I can live with it, but still bad. Same issue from a couple years back. Do t know if wireless card or laptop design. The WiFi card is replaceable so maybe? Good news is that the screen is beautiful. Dual sodimm slots, dual m.2 slots. The main one is PCIe 4, not sure of the 2nd one. Keyboard is “good”, but I’ve never been a fan of the 10 key on laptops. Makes the keyboard off center and for whatever reason drives me bonkers. Likely this is just me so please forgive. Out of the box with a slight ram overclock, 42.5 MH/s mining eth so when you’re not using it, earn some extra money.

Pros- Outstanding OLED display (100% of srgb, argb, & dci-p3) Great performance from the 11800H Upgradeable ram (I've already upgraded both machines I bought to Crucial 32gb 2Rx8 3200 CL22 ram) Ability to add 2nd ssd 99Wh battery HDMI 2.1 Thunderbolt 4 with charging via USB type C (confirmed working with the Platinum 95w charger purchased at best buy) UHS-II card reader 2.5g ethernet Fingerprint reader works fast and reliably Runs reasonably cool and quiet stock (but especially after repaste with thermalright tfx paste) CONS- Nose cam. But it does have a privacy shutter. I don't plan on using the camera. T6 bit required to open it up (not necessarily a con, t6 screws should last much longer than standard phillips head screws). Even with the 99Wh battery, battery life is mediocre at best. It can last about 3-4 hours working in Photoshop. OLED screens use way more battery than standard IPS screens. 1 of the 2 units I bought had crucial 1Rx16 ram (single-rank x16 is the slowest ram you can get). The other had samsung 1Rx8 ram which is fine. Luck of the draw I guess. Performance with 2Rx8 sticks was 25-33% faster in games and productivity apps (photoshop tested), even with just stock 3200 CL22 VS the 1Rx16 ram. Having dual rank x8 ram is really best. I'm fine with this machine not having this by default at the promotion price, but at full price this shouldn't be acceptable. But we live in chip shortage times, so this is what we get. Fans are a bit high pitched, but that doesn't really bother me. The noise at full speed is too loud. Overall the fan noise isn't bad compared to other laptops I've had with these kinds of specs. Screen goes black for up to 2 seconds when switching from integrated graphics to nvidia graphics (using latest bios FB02). The other machine with the newer bios doesn't do this (FB03). BIOS FB03 isn't available to download. The entire machine is a giant fingerprint magnet. If you are OCD like me, expect to use a good microfiber cloth to clean this daily. The Gigabyte Control Center is horrible. Actually made me just completely wipe windows with a bootable usb drive. It's as bad as other reviewers have said. I set the keyboard lighting how I wanted before wiping windows as this is saved to firmware and persists after windows wipe. It can't be changed without the control center software, but I'm fine with it as I've set it. Other- I decided to repaste after seeing thermal throttling at 90c (which caused the fan to run at max, which is LOUD) when saving larger files in Photoshop. HWinfo reports 109w PL2 (short power limit) and 65w PL1 (sustained power limit) in the 'Creator' and 'Turbo' settings in the Control Center. However, due to thermal throttling set in bios at 90c, this laptop could only sustain 62w. After repaste this laptop can sustain the full 65w maxing at 83c with less than half the fan noise. I don't recommend anyone without experience doing this procedure as you can permanently damage your machine if you aren't careful. All of the performance modes can be done without the control center software by using Intel XTU. Which is what I'm using. Some other oddities The USB type C charging is very particular. None of the 65w chargers would work, and on a whim I bought the 95w charger (why not, it was on sale) which worked. I can only assume you need a certain power level from the charger (80+ watts? idk) in order for it to work. Despite the cons, this is an amazing machine for the current promotion (600 off). There is a bit of luck of the draw on these for ram, and I'm apparently lucky that both of my machines don't have any wifi issues. Highly recommend!

A great laptop overall! The thermals are quite stable, the laptop is fans are quite strong and can go up to 5000 rpm, while typically idling at 2000 rpm. If I use noise cancelling headphones I wouldn't hear them. The GPU caps at 75C under stress and the CPU caps around 70~75 but stabilizes around 65 at 100% use. I love the 4k gaming experience; however, most modern games can only be played at 1440p with the mobile 3060 (still that's quite good!) FF15: 1440p ultra settings minus a couple things was 50~60 fps with a tiny overclock. Forza Horizon 5: 1440p ultra settings gave 70~80 fps, the GPU memory was too low for 4k, however. As others mentioned, this machine is quite heavy if you include the charger, so it's more of a station than a laptop. There is room to overclock the GPU if needed (at least in my case). I personally would have preferred a 120~144Hz screen with 1440p but it's nice to watch videos in 4k I guess.

This gaming laptop has impressive hardware: fabulous 4K screen, i7-11800 CPU+RTX3060GPU+16G/1T, Win 10 Pro, HDMI2.1, at a seductive price before Black-Friday sale. Bought it as a Xmas present for my kid. But its software is buggy, driver/software update by Gigabyte Control Center is the MOST difficult laptop maker interface that I ever saw (in comparison with HP, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, Apple ... ... etc.). Right before Xmas, its Win 10 Pro security update started having coded errors that forced me to reinstall Win 10 Pro. After Win 10 reinstallation, the coded error is gone, but Gigabyte's control center is also gone. I went to Gigabyte website but there is no way to download its Control Center. Google search found other users had similar problems (losing Control center) since 2 years ago. Gigabyte never bothered to fix that?! Without its Control Center means that users can't even use some of the basic functions, such as changing fan speed/noise, AI control for mic, keyboard colors...... contacted Gigabyte USA via emails, but didn't help me at all. In hindsight, it's a waste of customers' time trying to fix this buggy laptop. My recommendation is to avoid this brand until it sets up decent technical support in USA. No wonder Bestbuy has now delisted this brand all together.

Got it for excellent specs. Wasn't familiar with brand name, so was little nervous. It didn't disappoint! Build quality is pretty good. High performance, likely because of the good specs. Most outstanding is 4k OLED display. It is day and night better than regular display. Playing new region in Genshin Impact is whole new experience. Colors and details are amazing. Only drawback is it is heavy and gets hot! Shouldn't have been surprised with that though! Don't know about battery life as it is mostly plugged in while using (mainly for the games).

Great screen Great value for what you get. But it if it goes on sale Sub $1,500. Good expandability NO power delivery on any of the USB C and thunderbolt. NOISY- gets loud. Would also randomly boost the fan even with simple web browsing. Battery is not good because of 4k screen. The camera is really bad angle. The only good thing about it is that the quality itself is poor...so that way people done see any cliffhangers. I would rather not have one.

The only thing I do that needs speed is photo editing (lightroom and photoshop). This laptop handles it with ease and has a great screen. Capability of adding more RAM and another SSD should I want in the future. Plenty of fast USB and thunderbolt and SD card and ethernet port. And can transmit wirelessly to my LG TV. Heavier than many laptops. Video camera is on bottom of screen, so not sure yet how I will look on my next Zoom conference call.

I got this laptop on August 16, 2021, and so far it has been great for my creator needs. The screen produces a beautiful image, it quickly tears through the 4k video rendering tasks I give it (using Vegas Pro), and I have had no problems at all. This laptop replaced a Dell gaming laptop (Inspiron 15 7577) that was noisy and tended to get very hot, and this Gigabyte leaves that one in the dust. I have no problems with noise or Wi-Fi or any of the other stuff I've seen others complain about. I personally don't care about battery life, since I use the laptop as a desktop replacement and don't use it portably, so I haven't even checked out how long the battery lasts. The Gigabyte Control Center software does seem amateurish and clunky, but I also don't use it to update the drivers etc, as I do that stuff on my own (I've done computer support for a few decades now so I prefer to do that stuff myself). This is my first Gigabyte laptop (I've owned multiple laptops from HP, Dell and Lenovo) and I would definitely buy this laptop again.

Stylish performer missing some key EoU features

This laptop is beautiful and overall well-designed. It is light-weight and relatively inexpensive for the power it packs. The screen is amazing. The connectivity is amazing. The build quality is good overall. It stands out as being stylish without looking too "gamery". It does have some issues, however; more on that later. First, the good. It has the latest 8-core 11th-gen i7-11800H, an RTX 3060, Thunderbolt 4, and can be upgraded to 64 GB of RAM. It achieves high-end desktop-level CPU performance at mostly reasonable fan noise levels with some software tweaks. It has an HDMI 2.1 port, mini DisplayPort 1.4, 3x USB "3.2 Gen 1" (which is just USB 3.0) type-A ports, ethernet, and more. So you won't need a dock to get all the connectivity you probably want, but if you like using a dock then the Thunderbolt 4 port will support even the best ones out there. The touchpad feels great and has a discreetly embedded fingerprint reader in the top left. The fans blow out the back instead of up at the screen, and there is a physical privacy cover/slider over the camera. The full keyboard with numpad and RGB barely fits in the frame but doesn't feel cramped. The keys themselves feel great and the typing experience is excellent once you get positioned (I have shift my hands maybe 1.5 keys left of where I would normally position them on a laptop). The laptop is very thin even when closed, but the body is still stiff with extremely little flex. Everything stays cool even when the processor is under full load. By default the laptop stops charging the battery a little before full capacity which extends the battery life when constantly plugged in. I really can't say enough about all the excellent features in this laptop. All that said, some mistakes were made. The single USB-C port (with Thunderbolt 4) port DOES NOT support power delivery; a heavy, large (but relatively thin) power brick is the only option to power the laptop. The manual is basically non-existent (only the 25-language 2-pager is available). There's a "nose-cam" webcam in the base instead of in the screen, so it can't even be angled up or down. The screen is very reflective, not anti-glare. The screen assembly is stiff but flexes just at the top of the hinges and wobbles for an impressively long time when bumped (over 14 seconds??). When the screen is closed, the same applies; the flex just above the hinges allows the screen to open at least 1/2" with basically no resistance. The feet toward the rear are long and aren't quite planar with the feet on the front, so with the screen open on a flat surface, which moves the center of mass way to the rear, the whole laptop can wobble front-to-back a little until you rest your palms on it. The cooling solution can be sluggish to respond, and if allowed to ramp all the way up is too noisy to use in any kind of office environment. The BIOS is not unlocked and has only the most basic features, so there's no easy way to undervolt to try to get CPU temperatures under control. The included software manages firmware/driver downloads and lets you switch between different profiles cleanly enough, but I found myself fighting with it to set the fan profile quiet enough, so I uninstalled it after using it to download the latest firmware/driver updates for the laptop. If you use this in an office environment, the CPU is going to be thermally throttled 99% of the time when all cores are loaded (but performance under these conditions still beats most if not all 10th gens). Or your coworkers are going to hate your new jet engine simulator. CPU performance falls by up to 40% when unplugged due to the CPU power limit dropping from around 80W to the stock 45W, and there is no way I could find to increase the power allotment when running on batteries. Despite these issues, the laptop still looks and performs great vs other options that you can actually buy right now, especially for the price. I wanted to love this laptop but the lack of USB-C power delivery, along with the lack of documentation/manuals for what Gigabyte is trying to sell as a creator or borderline enterprise laptop, ended up being deal-breakers for me. Multiple competitors offer more power-hungry laptops that support USB-C 100W power delivery at least to charge the battery or provide full CPU performance when the GPU is not loaded. The 230W power brick supplied with this laptop weighs 1.85 lbs. And while Gigabyte claims the laptop itself weighs 4.4 lbs, I measured it at 4.9 lbs (2224 g) on a food scale. And since you have to use the proprietary charger, this might as well be a 6.25-6.75 lb laptop (depending on who you believe) if you need to take it anywhere for more than a few hours. So if you're looking for a desktop replacement, especially if you use the integrated display as one of your monitors, you're probably going to love this laptop for its performance and versatile physical ports, and you are going to struggle to do any better for the price. But if you need even occasional portability, the hefty power brick is going to make it feel like you're lugging around a beefier 17" laptop, and if you're using it on the go, the otherwise beautiful screen becomes wobbly and reflects everything. I'd highly recommend this as a reasonably professional-looking, budget-friendly desktop replacement / somewhat portable workstation, but not so much as the kind of laptop you'd take home everyday or even on business trips.

This laptop is amazing. The performance is incredible. It handles my most demanding VR games on my Vive Pro no sweat. The screen is gorgeous, it has a great keyboard layout, it has all the ports you'll need built in, and a great battery. To top it off, it even comes with an actually decent sized SSD of 1TB instead of the paltry 512GB so many of its competitors have. I couldn't be happier with it.

The software needs work. The 4K OLED screen was amazing to use but the experience with software and build was sub-par. The issues ranged from the software not initializing properly causing the brightness on the keyboard or the brightness of the screen to not work or adjust, to the software failing to initialize at all causing problems with the performance profiles that would cause the laptop to get hot. As far as thermals go, the laptop was decent and never got to thermal throttling letting the performance of the parts fair well in benchmarks, games, and creative workloads but it wasn't amazing. There are laptops that beat it in CPU performance for the same price, so pick your poison. The keyboard is about average with good lighting. It worked well and was a little mushy for my taste, but other than that the layout felt good. The touchpad was great to use. It had a smooth glide with no weird acceleration and had a nice clean crisp click without feeling wobbly. I think these are good I/O if you can put up with the nose camera. I wish the camera was not at the bottom of the screen but at least it has a camera. Overall build quality is good with no major issues besides the sharpness of the corners and the wobble of the screen. I'm glad this is not a touchscreen because it wobbles quite a bit when typing and adjusting it. So if you don't plan on typing a ton with it on your lap it should be okay. Overall, I would say this is a fair laptop at its price. If you can catch it on sale and you love OLED screens this would be a good option even with the quirks, I would just uninstall the software they provide since it is quite buggy.

Great for certain people like myself, shame that Gigabyte's customer service is absolutely useless. The performance, screen, and general configuration of this laptop make it perfect for someone like me who has a prosumer use profile. Unfortunately, I've had two major issues with this laptop since buying it back in September: the power adapter that shipped with the computer died and the fans have had their ball bearings go out, resulting in unpleasant noise. I'm not sure if this has degraded performance, but it certainly is something I want fixed before they go all the way out. Both times I've reached out to GIGABYTE customer service I've had mediocre service. They take a while to respond (understandable), but their RMA site does not work for me and customer service does not know how to or does not care to resolve the issue. This means that I had to buy a second power adapter. I'm less willing to do the fan fix myself, even though I have the skills, because I don't want to void the warranty. + Performance/Price + Modifiability + Display - Customer Service - Reliability

Great laptop for the money! Awesome 4K OLED screen, Pantone matched! 16 GB of 3200 ghz ram with a dedicated 6 GB of video ram on a Nvidia 3060 RTX graphics processor. Great for content creation. Comfortable keyboard with built in number pad. Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, USB 3, SD card, and others for connections. 60hz display but can output 120hz to external monitor. Easy to take off bottom and upgrade RAM and SSD storage. I already upgraded to 32 GB RAM. Keypad is great and has fingerprint biometric that works very fast and accurately. It’s not light but not heavy either. Fits into any 15.6 laptop case. Cons: part of the keys on the keyboard don’t have backlighting. It’s the characters above the number keys ($&@ etc). I almost gave it only 4 stars because of it. Also, small shift key on right side but got used to it quickly. Nice that keyboard can be turned to many colors BUT when you boot up next time, you have to reset it all again…only takes a couple of seconds but it should have ability to save the config and it doesn’t. Others have noted that wifi card malfunctions at times and resets often. This happened to me when I first set up my home wifi but never again since then. It is really fast wifi. The cons are trivial compared to the sheer power of this laptop. I would but it again.

Excellent notebook with a beautiful screen that can also game. I previously had an older 9th gen version of this laptop that had all sorts of heating issues. But with the new 11th gen CPU they seemed to have worked out those issues. This notebook is the right size with the right performance and features while still allowing for some decent do it yourself upgrade options all at an almost too good to be true price.
