I wish it didn't need WiFi to work with a portable speaker. If they can change this I'd love to use it at parties and stuff.

For one day we could see it as a wireless device but then it quit. Reset by power off didn't work. Nothing. Returned it to BB.

We could not get podcasts to play on this device from an iPhone so we returned it. The other functionality seemed ok.

I bought it to use it with my iPhone and a speaker with AUX input. To my surprise, the apps compatible with it under the iOS platform is very limited. I have all my music stored on a NAS using DLNA and there is no way for me to play that via the Chromecast with my iPhone. I dont have that problem with the Yamaha MusicCast app for my receiver and speakers.

this unit worked well but doesn't allow you to use airplay which was important to me so i returned it.

It works, but it has very limited supports, especially for iPhone/iPad. It may be good enough for Android users.

Relatively cheap, easy to set up, great sound. One of my favorite features is the fact that once you select something to stream to it, it streams that directly from the internet and not from your device. I can stream an album from Google Play Music to it and close the tab, the album will keep playing. If you do pick this up, the most important thing to do is to enable 'High dynamic range' in the settings menu from the Chromecast app. It isn't enabled by default and music doesn't sound as good without it enabled.

It can't connect to other Google cast products. The software could use more features. When connected works good.

I was looking for a way to upragee the use of my whole house speakers and this worked exactly as advertised.

Everything is connected to everything so this has little use anymore.

It loses connectivity and needs to be reset. When it works, it is fine. There should be a better solution.

I haven't heard or read of many people having issues connecting their chromecasts to their wifi, but I sure did. I spent an hour chatting with their tech support and finally had the issue resolved. Shouldn't have taken all that, but at least it was fixed. This was all to learn that it doesn't stream my native music app on my iPhone. Will be returning very soon.

Unit worked ok. But main unit speaker is so good that it really made audio addon not necessary.

Good Cheaper option for Streaming, Limited to 24/96. Optical out is a welcome addition.

Doesn't connect with all apps or itune,hit and miss with reconnecting after you've been disconnected awhile

Granted it can stream music from many providers, but cannot stream audio from youtube. Need to install Google home apps (I am a big fan of all things android and google, but am not a big fan of downloading software and registering for services that are unnecessary). Would have been much better off getting a simple bluetooth adapter.

I have a bunch of these and now they are in my junk drawer. Very unreliable. I heard of a possbile firmware update but so tired of messing with them I don't want to waste time with them again. The concept is awesome along with the toslink interface....but in reality....
