Don’t buy it if you have Apple Music. Not compatible. Was not able to use it. Returning it to store.

It's obsolete, you can only use with Spotify or pandora can't use with YouTube or other music streaming

I was looking for more functionality that what this adapter was able to do for us.

Sign in store claimed it works with YouTube. It doesn't. Returned to store for refund.

The item I received was defective. Lots of static noise when plugged in. Returned.

I purchased this to hook it up to my Bose Sounddock 10, so I could use it wirelessly. It is very slow to respond when you push play. Biggest drawback is that it does not play your music on you iPhone. I would not recommend it if you are Apple fanboy and invested in Apple ecosystem.

This product is as confusing as google's strategy of this device. It is no longer required with Google home or home mini having the capability to route audio to external Bluetooth capable audio devices. I would never ever recommend this product

Can not stream directly with Bluetooth must have a WiFi connection

Unfortunately this product didn't work with my Bose speakers, it connected but the audio is completely off, I just wanted to have my Google home to control all my speaker but the audio was off. I returned the product

Works great to cast audio from any device: Android or Apple iOS phone or tablet, Mac or PC. Best way to switch multiple devices through my main speaker system. One trick I learned is to plug my headset into the Chromecast Audio - requires a 5v micro usb power source. Especially like the ability to adjust volume control from my casting device.

Google stopped supporting these like so many of their products. On the other hand, old Apple TVs and Routers w/ Airplay still get updates despite being even older.

Been using this little guy for a week. Works great with excellent sound quality. Driving Tannoy 402's mostly. Google them. (great powered monitors / speakers) Highly recommended btw. Along with JBL LSR's. Interestingly, the Chromecast audio device will drive headphones very well also even though Google does not mention this. I will say that the voltage on the LINE OUT from the CC is very HOT. Meaning it is above normal. Google specs list it as 2Vrms. (Volts Root Mean Square) Wiki "Line Level". This is above PRO levels and way above consumer levels. The result? If you play the CC at MAX volume into your speakers, they will probably distort and could possibly be damaged. Set your speaker volume at about half to start. Begin casting, start low and bring them up slowly. If you are careful with the volume controls, you will be rewarded with stunning sound. Way to go Google.

I just got this yesterday and I am blown away. It's real easy to set up that even my tech illiterate dad could set it up. The 3.5mm audio jack DOES support optical out, providing you have the cable or the adapter for it. You can cast popular apps like Pandora and Tune-in, but it doesn't support YouTube mobile audio yet. (You could get around that by mirroring the screen in the Chromecast app). All in all, this is a pretty cool device for $35, although it should be cheaper since this is just an audio only device.

Does not work very disappointed everything I tried did not work and surly does not work like I expected don't waste your money I return the product after wasting hours trying to get it to work

Wanted to use it to stream from my PC to my receiver could not get it to work. Instructions are almost non existent seems to be only able to stream from a phone/tablet to your receiver

I took this back. I wanted to be able to stream from any source. It allows streaming only from approved apps. I don't use any of those apps, so I took it back.

Very disappointed that this was incompatible w my iPhone, even after downloading a "broadcast" app to connect it.
