I now have 5 of these in our house to replace/hook into the bluetooth speakers we had in each room. They work extremely well for any app that supports casting to them (almost all apps), and they can mirror your device's whole audio for apps that don't. They aren't the perfect solution though, there is significant lag when mirroring audio, which makes them unusable for trying to watch video on your device's screen and audio over the chromecast. They can also be occasionally buggy at times, but overall, work very well. The main reason we got them is to avoid having to track down which device is connected the bluetooth speaker, then disconnect it so yours can connect. With Chromecast you can simply "cast" to the speaker and it will override what is playing currently. The audio quality is excellent for apps that support casting. Others can control volume and play/pause what is playing on any of the chromecasts through the google cast app. I do wish the google cast app wasn't so content-centric and defaulted to device-view first.

I purchased two of these to use with my Onkyo AVRs. I also purchased some toslink to mini toslink cables to use with them instead of the adapter cables that came with them. These were extremely easy to setup and just as easy to use. Audio sounds great. I would highly recommend the Chromecast Audio.

I was never able to get my computer to recognize the product, so I couldn't cast to it. returned for a refund after fooling around with all afternoon.

Bought as a Christmas present. Recipient tried installing this on desktop and a laptop, never worked properly on either! Returned it!

Significantly better than I even expected. Have a whole home audio system with a receiver that controls everything from the basement. That is obviously not a convenient set up since I have to go downstairs every time I want to play something! I had been looking at options to control this from my phone but the only thing I could find was Sonos, a thousand plus dollar investment. This Google Chromecast audio device allows me to do everything I want from my phone from anywhere in the house! Very easy set up, fluid use, crystal-clear audio, for dirt cheap. 6 out of 5 stars.

Thought I could stream apple music on this but no. Would not recommend if you have Apple. Although there is hope that may change.

I only bought this to use with Spotify only to find out that you need a premium account to use it. I returned it asap.

I opened the package to use to connect to car stereo by blutooth. It did not work and I had to return it.,

This item didn’t work for me... WiFi was required. Unfortunately I can’t get WiFi where I live

Did not work with my android and the music i have from itunes that i put on my sd card.only played pandora.

I bought this specifically for the stereo in my garage where I have an old but still awesome Denon receiver. In the aux input I have an RCA to 3.5 mm headphone cable connected. I have used this with my cell phone for a couple of years but have never been blown away by that setup. The phone just does not output a strong enough signal for me to be truly happy with the setup. The Chromecast Audio looked like a good solution as it was reasonably priced and it could easily get a wifi signal from the house. Setup was a breeze and the sound quality is good. I need to double check to see if the Denon has an optical input, if it does I will switch to that. The RCA cable works but it still sounds a little muffled. A digital cable will solve that problem. Worth the $.

Bought this as a cheaper option for my iPhone. It does not play well with Apple products.

This thing does not have bluetooth so you can only connect limited number of audio apps.

Wasn't compatible with certain Music stations like salesman said it would be.

It didn't work on my stereo. I had to return the product.

Can’t use as tv didn’t had Aux option. So returned it

I can not use this well with my Apple Music or iTunes. Very disappointed.

Looses connection and disruption when receiving texts.

This product drops its connection continuously. Poor performance.

With the prevalence of bluetooth, not entirely sure my Google decided on Chromecast Audio, but it works great. Looking forward to the new features coming down the pike!
