If you have a set of older speakers that don't have bluetooth then this is a great and simple way to add wireless functionality to them that you can control from your phone, even while in a different room, using your existing home wifi network. Many music sources are supported like Google Play Music, Spotify and Pandora.

The Chromecast Audio is really quite impressive. I plugged it into some computer speakers and it sounds fabulous. Setup was a snap - find it in Google Home app and that's about it. It holds the Cast stream better than Sonos speakers, too. I ended up buying an actual Google Home device so that I could carry speakers around, but if you don't want to go that route, the Chromecast Audio is a great choice.

This unit makes adding wireless streaming to existing powered speakers very easy. It is also nicer than bluetooth because I can start streaming music and if I move around the house I don't need to worry about keeping a 30 foot or less connection to the player since it works over wi-fi once you get the music playing. It works with a lot of great music streaming apps on my Android phone. I wish SiriusXM included support for casting, but that is a SiriusXM issue, not this device. Google recently added the option to sync multiple units together connected to different speakers and play music simultaneously throughout the house.

the only annoying things is keeping it plugged in. but i bought it to go with my sony BT speaker, works cool on my back pation with my google home speaker.

Great sound and easy to install. Small and discrete. Does not support airplay, however. Good price.

Chromecast audio is another great product from Google. You can broadcast your music, no problems. Plug into your speakers and tap into your wi-fi and you're good to go!!!!

After reading about the chromecast audio dongle online and owning a regular chromecast and google home, figured this would ge a great addition. I bought a "dumb" LG soundbar and decided to plug in the chronecast audio. After a quick setup and update, PRESTO, a speaker I can cast to from my phone, computer, or google home. The sound quality is great and it even lets you group speakers like Sonos

Very cool product! Purchased for a small office so that anyone could jump on and change music or adjust music anytim on their phones. Works great for very little money!

Took a 30 year old receiver and hooked the Chromecast audio to the tape monitor. Pandora sounds great and I can play my library from my android phone.

Pros- it has longer range than bluetooth, not line of sight dependent, easy set up; now supports multi room!!! Cons- works ok if its your own router, but if your at public wifi, will not work unless you have access to the router and change settings which is next to impossible which defeats purpose. Does not support youtube on tablets and smartphones only laptops and PC which is a bummer. Wish they can still expand on many more programs and apps

The Chromecast audio works perfectly with android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. Whenever I stream from a device the Chromecast audio begins playing instantly and sounds great coming out of my bookshelf speakers. I haven't had any issues with latency or quality and use this very often. I also have a sonos system and find them to be fairly close in quality (this obviously depends on your speakers)

Not only was it a great product from the get go, but they update the drivers and make it even better! Hi rez music, and it can do optical with an adapter! Great Stuff!

So simple to configure. Works seamlessly. You can set up multiple devices as a group and play to all of them simultaneously. Works much more reliably than bluetooth without all the drama. Very reasonable considering how great they are. They brought new life told unused speakers. Magic! Practically perfect in every way!

Not a negative, but you need to reconnect to it each time you open chrome if you're on a computer. Takes about 12 seconds to fully connect, not instant. Audio quality is good not amazing.

The audio here doesn't cut out and connects to any speaker with an aux port. Love how this works just like a Chromecast and I can use it with podcast or music apps.

Can't say enough about this streaming audio device, its great. I bought it to build and expand the capability of a jukebox I am building. the one thing that was missing was the ability to throw easily and cheaply audio and apps from your phone. This does it all. of course its not supported by itunes or amazon but there are apps that get around that. buy 1 or 2 today you won't be sad you did :)

I really like this thing. I got the two pack and it is great. With the improvements you can have a sonos like life with some old speakers and your wifi connection.

this was a new type of connection form me to use in order to gain wireless sound and still maintain use of my phone. In addition, you are able to go much further away from the speaker and not cut out since it's connected to a wireless network. So, I'm not 'yelled at' by everyone when I leave the speaker and go somewhere with my phone in my pocket like before. Pretty cool. I just need to make sure that the phone and the chromecast are on the same network in order to start it up.

Sound quality is much better than I get directly from my phone. Easy to set up. Easy to control.
