Customers are saying

Customers commend Chromecast Audio for its ease of use, excellent sound quality, and reasonable price. Many appreciate its seamless streaming capabilities and compatibility with other Google devices. While some users wish for a longer range and a built-in battery, the overwhelmingly positive feedback centers on the device's ease of setup and superior audio performance compared to Bluetooth alternatives. The convenience of using WiFi for audio streaming is also frequently highlighted.

Yes, I'm converting to an all G device household. out with the apple junk. Only gripe is the software. You can't change volume using you're devices volume buttons without opening the app that's streaming. I'm sure they'll get that worked out in either Pandora, the OS or the Chromecast app.

I have an older pioneer receiver and always had to plug in my phone or iPod using an aux cable to hear music from them. Since the receiver came out at a time when Bluetooth really was only starting to come out, it doesn't have any of the modern features you would find now at days. However with the Chromecast Audio, you just plug it in using that same Aux Cable or Optical cable (Sold separately), and a power source, I can cast my music to the receiver from anywhere in the House. It's dead simple and just works. And now with Google Home, a few simple commands is all you need to listen to any song or playlist in seconds.

Google has purposefully limited their Google Home assistants to not transmitting bluetooth. They can of course receive bluetooth signals, but will not transmit to a bluetooth receiver. So in order to stream music from any google home device to a AVR you have to utilize the google chromecast audio. Now granted this is better than streaming via bluetooth, it still forces you to spend an additional $35. That being said, I find the audio via this device is very good, and better than music streaming over bluetooth. I have the google chromecast audio hooked up via mini-toslink to toslink on my AVR. Setup was fairly easy if you follow the instructions.

This offloads all the work onto the device instead of having to stream directly from a phone or something. You can set it to play with you phone and even if you step out and come back it will still be playing. No more worrying about keeping my phone within Bluetooth range at all times.

Works great casting the audio from my phone to my speaker systems. Once powered it can play music to the speakers within a minute. It sounds a lot better than Bluetooth

Actually chromre cast audio is the perfect solution to effortlessly stream audio from phones or tablets. Connectivity is great and constant, much better than bluetooth. The only issue is it will not let the user use any sound enhancements such as equalizer or on board Dolby. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Great compact device for zone audio. I use this to stream app-controlled zone audio to my patio from my family room receiver. Google added zone capabilities to its app, so I plan to put these throughout the house for various, cost-effective, zone audio, all from a single app.

This works very well. Just plug it into a speaker and a power supply and you are set. It synchronizes nicely with Google Home and I would definitely recommend this.

I had an old Ipod dock that I no longer used that now has new life! It's a breeze to set up and pairs perfectly with Google Home for multiroom audio that's in sync.

Any speaker with an auxiliary input can use this. I have an old soundbar and a Bluetooth speaker that we're lying around. Now I can use them as smart speakers with Google Home. It's awesome. Pro Tip: Make sure you turn on Full Dynamic Range in the settings. It's disabled by default (I guess to accommodate speakers that can't support it), but it makes a BIG difference in the audio quality if your speaker supports it. It's a shame this was discontinued. If it weren't. I would highly recommend it!

Purchased the Google Chromecast audio to allow for a more reliable why to connect my mobile devices to stream music thru out my house. Bluetooth would be choppy when more than 20 feet away. I can now cast from anywhere in the house and from my backyard.

I had three zones of speakers hardwired in our new house but wanted my kids to be able to play their own music downstairs. I had only heard from friends that this was what I needed and couldn't visualize how it would work. I bought one unit and braced myself for having to waste all night figuring out how to set it up. Setup was too easy so I was sure I must be missing something but when I hooked it up and tested it I was amazed at how elegantly simple it was to use. It worked so well I am buying another to use for the upper floor to give us the option to play music from our phones there too.

Besides not working with Apple Music, it's a pretty amazing system for steaming music through your whole house. At six rooms for less than $200, it's a steal too!

Works even better then the original chromecast. No need to fumble through all the connection settings like the original, just open the app and it connect automatically.

Great alternative to Sonos for whole home audio

I have multiple CCA units in my house and they provide excellent audio reproduction from multiple sources (local and streaming). They support a wide range of file formats and are capable of grouping with other Chromecast Audios, for whole home distribution. While there are a few thigns I'd change (like not having to disconnect from source to change casting unit/group), I still find it easy to use. Many of the applications we use (mostly Pandora and Plex) have support for casting built in. Its more cumbersome to use than Sonos, but cost savings more than make up for that.

This is a great and easy way to stream your music. Integrates well with Spotify, Pandora, and other online music services. I use it to stream my Google Play content as well. Every now and then, like once a week, I may lose the connection or the song may pause and I need to reconnect the Chromcast Audio but it quick and I don't consider that a major problem for something at this price point that is generally very reliable. Get a pair of decent bookshelf speakers and cast away,

Works great, i just wish i could stream from YouTube and be able to group chromecast audio and video. Right now you can only create a group for the chromecast audio. Other than that its great, i currently have 3, and they are all in sync when i play them. AMAZING!!!

I originally bought this for my car. I wanted something with better sound quality that Bluetooth. It took some setting up, but was able to get it to work by setting it up with my phone as a wifi hotspot. That worked great when you were in service area, but when cell service was lost in rural areas, it wouldn't play locally downloaded music and audiobooks on my phones. So I had to go back to bluetooth in the car, but it works great in the house to add streaming to a older two channel stereo set up.
