Customers are saying

Customers commend Chromecast Audio for its ease of use, excellent sound quality, and reasonable price. Many appreciate its seamless streaming capabilities and compatibility with other Google devices. While some users wish for a longer range and a built-in battery, the overwhelmingly positive feedback centers on the device's ease of setup and superior audio performance compared to Bluetooth alternatives. The convenience of using WiFi for audio streaming is also frequently highlighted.

If you are looking for a cheap easy wireless way to stream music from your phone, tablet, or laptop to any sound system with a line-in jack, this is it. Adds Sonos-like functionality to any stereo system or powered speaker. Apps are available for Android, iOS, Windows, or Mac. You might have to Google some of them yourself but it's easy.

If you're buying just the one Chromecast Audio, they're amazing. It's wonderful and works really well. I have a few, and am working on using them to create a Whole Home Audio experience. They work ... mostly. It's not terrible -- it's pretty good, even -- but it's not great. It's not as smooth as, say, a Sonos setup, but it's a fraction of the price. I'm a fan.

Item is easy to setup and use. Wonderful sound quality and better than using Bluetooth to connect cell phone or tablet to a soundbar. Definitely will be purchasing another one.

If you want to stream music easily and on a budget (and have some amplified speakers already), there is no better option. Setup is simple, sound quality is great (again depending on your speakers), interface/usability is as easy as clicking an icon and choosing the Chromecast device (if you have more than one), and then sit back and listen. If you do have more than one, you can sync them and create a multi-room sound system on the cheap. You can use a Bluetooth-type speaker (with 1/8" audio input), PC speakers, an audio receiver, or any powered speakers with a standard analog input. I can't say it's a life-changer, but for the low price and ease of use, there's no reason not to have one.

Truly one of the few tech products that proved to be easy to set up and actually delivers. I have a very extensive iTunes library and Google Play Music uploaded the whole thing, including my playlists. It plugged into my tuner and now plays through my speakers, which have never sounded better.

This is a great device for streaming, sharing and casting high quality music. It will bring your older sound systems to life with the capability to act as an analog or digital input and stream most music apps through your mobile devices. The quality and reliability is much better than bluetooth as it is all high quality and digital, especially if you use an optical cable to connect it to your receiver. All you need is a Toslink to Mini toslink jack adapter (about $1) and you are good to go. You can also have more than one of these (given the low cost of $35) and create different zones throughout your house. All you need is a receiver, amplifier or powered speakers to connect to. The chromecast can help revive your old sound systems and may even provide better sound and definitely a cheaper solution than many new alternatives such as sonos, etc.

I've already bought many other Chromecasts. I decided to try the audio one and it definitely exceeds expectations. Easy to use, great sound, and I'm planning on buying a few more so I can sync speakers together. Buy it. It's a solid investment.

These things are awesome! Easy to install! You can play multiple rooms at once totally synced. Simply stream from Pandora or other services and then use the Chromecast app to control the devices. They can be grouped or individually used from separate sources. Just wish it could be grouped with my original Chromecast Video unit.

Couldn't ask for something to be more simple. Plugged it in, downloaded the app, the device automatically downloaded and installed the latest update, and it was ready to use. Works flawlessly with both Android and iOS. Love it!

As the the regular Chromecast for video, the Chromecast Audio allow you to stream from portable devices and computers but only the audio portion. Unlike the video version which provides HDMI output, the audio Chromecast provides a single output connector that can be used with a Stereo 3.5 mm analog audio cable (provided) or with optional cables that can provide digital optical output or RCA output. I am using the Chromecast Audio with digital optical (toslink) output. Setup is extremely easy, very similar to the Chromecast Video setup. Similarly to the the regular video Chromecast this device saves your phone or tablet's battery since this device takes over and the audio source streams directly to the Chromecast while your portable device is used only as a remote control.

Easy to use, connect and a few steps after you are streaming music everywhere in the house. Takes over the stream from your phone and turns any speaker with an input into a music streaming system. My only gripe? Spotify requires you to have premium service to be able to cast to it. Booooo.... I guess Pandora it is....

I am very satisfied with the Chromecast Audio. I bought two of them and use them both often. The setup is easy and they work very well. I use mine by cast ing from my phone as well as my computer. The sound quality is great and the price is amazing.

Chromecast Audio is awesome. It works like a charm. Audio quality is good. Easy setup. I purchased mainly to connect to the receiver for zone 2 since it only accepts analog inputs on zone 2. Quite a few apps. Would give it 5 stars if it can also allow to cast video sources like YouTube but only plays the audio.

Got this for my Bose Portable SoundDock speaker system and it worked like a charm. Perfect way to make a non-bluetooth speaker wireless. I streamed Google Music and iHeartRadio to it with no problems. Highly recommended. Does what it's supposed to do and does it well.

I'm pretty familiar with the Chromecast. I've been using them for a couple of years via the standalone stick you plug into your TV as well as through Android TV set top boxes. I was initially dismissive of the Chromecast Audio. I figured it would just be a cash grab, and honestly couldn't really think of an application where this would be useful. I then watched a video on YouTube where someone used a couple of them to set up a "whole house" audio system. My interest was piqued. I received a $25 Best Buy gift card for Christmas, and the Chromecast Audio happened to be on sale for $25, so I decided to take the plunge. My daughter got an android tablet for Christmas, and she has an older (read: used to be mine) bookshelf stereo unit in her room, so I thought that would be a neat way for her to interact with her music. I hooked everything up (I already had a 3.5 mm jack to RCA adapter on hand, but if you don't you'll need that if your stereo unit doesn't have a 3.5 mm input) and with minimal effort downloaded the Google Home app onto her tablet and set it up as her bedroom stereo. I proceeded to show her how to cast music to it from her tablet and she was so excited! I even pulled a stunt while she and her mother were upstairs in her bedroom and I cast a song to her unit just to mess with them. It was pretty funny sitting downstairs casting and stopping and resuming the music. I have since bought another CCA and put it into another "system" consisting of a $10 mp3 amp I bought off of Amazon and some OLD Radio Shack speakers. Sounds great, and the "whole house" audio aspect works well. Music seems to be 100% in sync. I am thinking of buying three or four more to make a truly whole house system going out into our back yard and pool area.

I had collected some really good speakers over the years which as technology advanced were left behind waiting to be used through a good DAC controller. I was postponing the decision to buy a decent yamaha digital system to connect the speakers to. With this chromecast audio, it has replaced my appetite to do that, saved me $$$ because I was considering Sonos at some point, and let me use my great sounding sound system today with high quality digital output. Now, you are not restricted to a specific brand of speakers anymore, buy the best and connect it to a chromecast audio, and bring it up to speed with the latest in technology. Stream music anywhere, play your podcasts in your office, play your gym session in your studio, and pandora in the living/ kitchen... or play the same music everywhere and dont worry about staying close enough (u listening bluetooth?) to your devices!

Don't even think about it, buy a few. I have created a whole house speaker system by repurposing dormant speakers, amplifiers and portables all over the house. Setup is a breeze, 30 minutes and I've got 7 new systems up and running. As long as you have a good wifi signal you're golden. I use Spotify predominantly but will run Pandorra and Google music if I want a different feed in multiple places. Music now flows throughout the house from sun up to sundown. I couldn't be happier.

I've been using Chromecast for a while to stream Google Play Music so I was excited to try out the Chromecast Audio with my current stereo system. I now have four of these units throughout the house and have completely forgotten about my portable Bluetooth speakers. The Chromecast Audio has given new life to a couple of my 10 - 15 year old stereo units that were gathering dust in the basement. Even better was the recent update that allows group connections allowing me to stream to multiple speakers around the house at the same time. For a little over a hundred dollars I was able to buy four of these units and have the same functionality as the lowest teired Sonos 2 speaker bundle that cost over twice as much. If you love music, have a streaming music account, and 1 or more speaker units you should definitely give this a try.

Love this thing. I plugged it into my nose sound dock so now I can stream music to it from anywhere in the house. I wanted to play music without having to dock my phone and now I can. Easy setup and works flawlessly.
