While I am happy being able to turn my ~20 year old receiver into an internet connected device, what I'm really looking forward to is the multi-room sync'ed audio. How well that works will be HUGE.

With Google's 3.5mm-to-RCA cable, the Chromecast Audio brought a legacy (17+ years old) mini system into the 21st century, and Best Buy delivered on time.

I only dropped one star as I knew the limitations for iOS going in and still researching options, but hoping there will be improvements on that in the future. Other than that it works as it should with resources available. Very easy setup and WiFi hasn't disconnected in the 3 weeks I've had it connected so seems to be stable in that department. Guess I will have to add more music to Google Play to take advantage of that!

This solves an analog to digital divide. Stream your devices to your older equipment. Does it through wifi vs Bluetooth, much better fidelity without distance limitations

Easy set up and does what it’s supposed to. Are used to use airplay from Apple, but constantly found disconnects and pausing no matter what I did. Decided to try Google and haven’t had a problem cents. If you were on iPhone not every app will allow you to stream to the chrome cast, but the most popular ones will like Spotify. Simple, cheap, and works very well.

I have a couple of Chromecast Audios set up to stream music throughout the house. They are very easy to setup and has good audio quality when streaming. However, sometimes they lose connection/sync to the casting device and you have to reconnect to the Chromecast to view whats currently playing. Also not all apps allow casting to the Chromecast Audios.

I already own an early version of the Google Chromecast. I bought this audio only version to connect my home AV receive to feed outdoor speakers. It's a great solution for being able to cast Pandora, Spotify, etc. I can control volume and tracks from my phone and tablet from the patio or pool area. Overall a great solution with no downsides other than Google's excessive data tracking.

I ordered this with no real expectation that it would sound anything more than mediocre. The real surprise came when I plugged it into an integrated amplifier. Setup was a no brainer...about 60 seconds. The device produced surprisingly rich, full range sound from a premium streaming service. This is not to be taken as an audiophile quality device, but it is good...real good.

Audio through headphones jack is lacking a bit (kinda expected), but optical works good. Waiting for more improvements from Google later to make it even more compelling

This was my first experience with the Google chromecast audio device. I didn't have any issues hooking up and playing music on the initial setup. As others have mentioned, it sometimes loses connection or is slow to strart up. The overall sound quality is excellent. It is expecially good when using older A/V receivers. I would recommend this product.

Great music streamer. Excellent sound quality and very easy to use.

This device is great. The only issue I have had with it, is finding a speaker to hook it to that doesn't time out and auto shut off when not in use.

if you want to send music to speakers that have a mini stereo jack, this works perfect and the range is as good as your wireless router.

Very easy to pair, and sounds great. Only wish you could stream audio from YouTube videos.

Quick and easy setup. Works well without issues. Do yourself a favor and buy an ethernet power adapter so it can be hard-wired into your network. It makes setup a breeze and ensures it will always be visible on the network. Do not use any third party usb power to power it. There’s a good chance you’ll introduce a hum into the speakers.

It works although I wish it supports Youtube. Otherwise it is easy to set up and it will turn your regular speakers into smarter speakers.

This is so my better than bluetooth for playing music from your phone or tablet. Uses your home wifi, so there are no line of sight issues. Highly recommended.

Good product but didn't work with optical wire but sounds good and easy to use

I absolutely love this product. I have already spoke to many of my friends and family members about this item and urged them all to get some for their homes.

Obviously you will need a smartphone (that old Nokia 3210 need not apply) or a laptop (sorry, that old Windows 95 laptop from 1996 aint gonna cut it) to set it up. You will need to use Google Chrome (if that wasn't obvious enough) to use it or an Android based device. (those have native support built-in since at least ICS). Straight forward in streaming audio from YouTube or Google Music to your hi-fi.
