Customers are saying

Customers commend Chromecast Audio for its ease of use, excellent sound quality, and reasonable price. Many appreciate its seamless streaming capabilities and compatibility with other Google devices. While some users wish for a longer range and a built-in battery, the overwhelmingly positive feedback centers on the device's ease of setup and superior audio performance compared to Bluetooth alternatives. The convenience of using WiFi for audio streaming is also frequently highlighted.

    Awesome for listening to Spotify

Money well spent. The DAC on these are good. Makes my cheap old Philips surround receiver and Polk R300's sound great. The DAC on the Chromecast Audio is WAY better than on the receiver. You cannot go wrong with these. Make sure you change the settings to high quality on Spotify AND the Chromecast Audio to get the best sound.

The google chrome audio works. I wanted something that could turn my Bose sounddock ii speaker wireless. The chrome audio worked. I like how when I cast my music that I can still use my device as if it is not connected at all. My main complaint is that is does not work with iTunes or my music app on my iPhone. That knocked my rating down a star. Then for the price, I was not shocked, overwhelmed and just plain impressed by this device. Is was just average

    Good, but know the limitations

The Chromecast Audio is good for its intended purpose, but it is good to know its limitations. The Audio is made for casting music or any audio to your speakers at home. This is different than using bluetooth or plugging a streaming device to your speaker, as it will allow one to stream your audio from Spotify, Google Play Music, Youtube, all directly from your internet. In my experience, I've gotten pretty good audio quality, A limitation, however, is that it requires an internet source to stream the audio. While it is not for everyone, I do use it for a single purpose: casting my music to multiple devices in my home. If you own a few of Google's devices that are able to cast (Google Home, Chromecast, Chromecast Audio, etc.) you will be able to set up a "group" using the Google Home app on your phone, which will allow audio to play from multiple devices. This allows one to cast their music to multiple rooms or multiple speakers, which is great for parties or if you are moving around. While there are obviously other ways to use the Chromecast Audio (if you have a device without bluetooth, for example), it definitely works for my intended use.

    - Inexpensive - Great signal strength (they use wifi) - Use your existing stereo equipment These things are fantastic. Want a Sonos but don't have hundreds of dollars to spend OR you already have a house full of stereo equipment? Get this instead. Want to play music from your phone but the Bluetooth speaker keeps loosing signal? Get this instead. They work over wifi so you never loose signal and they sync together so you can play music throughout the house w/o having to buy all new stereo equipment. I have three already and am about to get one more paired with some Bose computer speakers for the bathroom too. Maybe I should get one for the garage . . . and the patio! Get at least 2 of these things. You're gonna love it.

I bought this because I wanted to stream music from my wireless devices like my phone to my home audio system. I have speakers throughout my home and now can enjoy music all through my home at any volume I desire. I highly recommend this if you want to play music on any older stereo system that doesn't have this ability.

I ended up getting 4 of these (atm) and am able to create groups of speakers in the house, much like you would with a sonos system. While the apps aren't consolidated into one, its something to get used to. I mostly stick with one source at a time, Pandora or Spotify for internet radio and Plex for owned albums.

Best $25 I've spent on audio. Bypassing it's less than stellar internal DAC with a mini optical cable into a outboard DAC instead of the 3.5mm analog output ( same port ) you get excellent SQ. No compression in the transmission so you're only limited by the quality of your system. I liked it so much I bought a second one.

This is my second Chromecast audio I've bought; using on several of my home stereo systems; using with google home and iPhone, nice wway to send tunes to home systems, with HQ speakers/amps I already have. Better audio quality then Bluetooth, which I have but amd disppapointed with quality, especially from Apple products.

I use this product to turn a really nice regular speaker in my bedroom into a Chromecast target speaker. Now I can cast music to it. A lot cheaper than a Sonos speaker, that's for sure! I do find that I need to occasionally unplug the Chromecast if I don't use it for awhile. After it reboots, it works just fine again.

Got two of these once I got a Google Home Mini to make it easy to throw audio to three different spots in the house. The Home Mini is kind of glitchy, but these Chromecast Audios are rock solid and work perfectly, keeping the music in sync throughout the house. I would be better if they could also collaborate with a Chromecast video.

Excellent investment of 25 bucks. Took me a while to configure my Android phone (Google Play music). I have a Harmon Kardon 2.1 system and I love the luxury of controlling the music from anywhere in my apartment. Dumped the iPod that was connected to the speakers. Will totally recommend to all Android phone users.

Works well, pretty easy to set up and use especially if you use a chromecast already. I do experience weird connectivity issues with Pandora on occasion, which is solved by restarting the app. Not a huge deal but can get annoying. Overall great product, let's me control music from my phone anywhere in the house.

Chromecast audio is a great way to add wifi quality music, etc., to otherwise "dumb" speakers. Casting audio is pretty simple to do from a smartphone (or other device) and easily brings my music, radio and podcasts to speakers that otherwise wouldn't be connected. Only wish it had the Google Assistant that a Google Home has. :(
