Bought just to plug into computer to play music with voice. Got it on Turkey Day sale.

Got several of these to basically create a shared music experience throughout the entire house. You can stream to all the units at the same time so if you're entertaining you can have the same music playing everywhere.

I’ve plugged several of these into various speakers and amps around the house. Occasionally things get a little wonky, and Home isn’t a great app, but I get synced whole-home audio for pennies compared to other systems and with no wiring.

I have hooked up a few of these around the house (living room AVR, patio amplifier, kitchen speaker) and now have a very simple-whole home audio system. I wish the Google Home app was a little easier to use when configuring these into groups (it's a little convoluted). Easy and a great value!

This was a request for a gift, it is exactly what they asked for and works perfectly.

I bought this device to plug into a soundbar and make it "smart." For that, it is absolutely perfect. Paired with an android phone or a Google Home device, it is easy to play music without needed to connect to the soundbar's bluetooth. For the price, outstanding.

Tip #1: When playing compressed music files (e.g. MP3's) on a high fidelity audio system, turn Full Dynamic Range on in the Google Home app. Tip #2: Full Dynamic Range is automatically activated when the device is connected via an (optional) optical cable.

I live in an older home, no pre wall wiring and it's a two story home. With that, I've been searching for a whole home audio solution. Sonos. Bose, and others similar. Problem was I did not want to use their propitiatory speakers or pay the expensive price for their amps for existing stereos. Then I saw an add for Chrome Audio watched the video it looked to be the answer I was searching for. I purchased two to test. BAM! they worked perfectly. I then purchased 4 more. I have a total of 6 through out the house, 2 on Bluetooth jam boxes and 4 connected to home receivers. The cost of 6 was still way under the price for the Sonos or the Bose. I have had no issues with connectivity or pairing. It's limited when it comes to music sources, however, if you run from a PC Chrome browser you can add Amazon Music and even choose to cast your browser, no matter the page you're on. For me this is the best technology of 2016. Highly recommended.

Was using bluetooth from my Pio elite, was shaky, not dependable.....on a higher end home theater=not acceptable. Bummed i had to change music player, but I lived and the uptick in sound quality is huge!(make sure you enable hi fidelity in settings!) Awesome.

I bought this to go with my bluetooth speaker in my bathroom so that I could control it with my Google Home. It's been perfect. I can easily connect my Chromecasts throughout the house to my phone or Google Home and play music all over the house. No issues. It's so easy.

We moved to a house with no radio reception inside (i.e. we live in a Faraday Cage). I missed NPR. I received a Google Home for Christmas and found by adding a Chromecast Audio I could stream from the internet to my ancient but excellent stereo system. Sound is good when I cast music too. I'm happy.

The Chromecast audio is well worth your investment. It allows you to sync up multiple speakers in your household to have a multi-room or multi-speaker experience, much like Sonos or Bose touts, at a fraction of the cost with no sound distortion or reduction of quality.

This product is great, setup was very easy, you're able to connect it with your device in no time. The connection is very stable. I have it connected to my Harman Kardon Audio Video Receiver, to some high quality Polk speakers and Ryhmik audio subwoofer, I also have Apple TV and Roku connected to the same AVR. I can definitely hear the difference between the audio when I am streaming from my iPhone to the Chromecast audio, vs when I audio stream from the iPhone to the Apple TV. The audio quality coming from the Chromecast audio is not high quality. I would say it would be compared to hearing 192kbit/s from AppleTV vs 64kbit/s from Chromecast. I returned it. If you're using it for casual use, this would be very nice, but if you're into high quality sound and you're trying to connect from your phone, stay with apple TV (if you're using iPhone).

the idea here is to be able to stream from a phone, tablet, pc to Chromecast. If you have multiples of these in different rooms you can select the room you want music to play. Or you can create "groups" and play to Chromecast Audio devices simultaneously in multiple locations.

I have 3 of these chromecast audio devices and they all work very well. Easy to set up with the Google Home app. I also have a Google chromecast hooked to my TV. All provide good reliable connections to my amplifiers, powered speaker and TV..
