It's great that it separate from the chromecast. It's nice you can plug it in any auxiliary in.

Google's budget audio dongle pipes music to any stereo from the most popular streaming apps on your smartphone. It's simple and works well, with direct compatibility for most major music services, and even more supported via the Chrome browser plug-in and on the Android app.

Great solution for multi room audio provided: - your router supports Chromecast in general. I have an older router that works fine for a while but then needs a reboot from time to time. - you'll also want to ensure, especially if you are an iPhone user, that the music app you choose will work with Chromecast audio (Google Play does, for instance; but the Apple apps - such as the Podcast player - don't) - one of the best things about Chromecasts is that unlike Bluetooth solutions, which need the phone to constantly stream the audio to the Bluetooth device, Chromecasts connect directly to WiFi so your phone is merely a 'controller' - which means better battery life, as well as the ability to leave the house or take a phone call with the music running - your party isn't interrupted. That can be a bit of a downer though if you're by yourself and would like music to automatically pause if you are on a phone call. If you're an audiophile, spend the $15 and get the optical cable - particularly if you will be hooking this up to a quality receiver.

Excellent product. I got two whicj can be connected into a group to stream at the same time - awesome feature. Only complaint is wih Apple. Iphones are not compatible but you can always get a cheap android tablet just for casting music Both chromecast audio I own work flawlessly and are easy to set up

This was my second device purchased for our home. I have the devices connected to wireless speakers which are linked to a Google Home. By having this set up we have created surround sound throughout our entire home. Definitely would recommend to others.

I already owned a ChromeCast device which I connected to my TV so that I could transfer audio/video content to it from a laptop or tablet. I purchased this device so I could do something similar but with audio content from these devices (as well as from my android phone). For only the $30 price of this device I could connect this to any sound system or portable speaker set and wirelessly transfer audio to them without worrying whether or not they were "smart" speakers. All you have to do is pair your laptop/tablet/phone to the ChromeCast Audio device, plug it in to audio and you're all set! Unfortunately, since they are rivals, this Google device is not supported by Apple devices and iTunes. Best for use with android phones, streaming from Youtube and alternative music services such as Pandora and Spotify.

This is a awesome device. I needed a way to stream my music from my devices to my home sure Sheri. I purchased a 3.5mm to his link cable for digital sound. This device never fails adter years of use.

I just wanted to get the sound from my computer to the audio system in my theater room. I was surprised buy how easy it is to use and setup. I now am finding myself wanting to buy a couple more for other areas of the house. Seriously, this thing is amazing!

Bought a WIFI speaker with my Google Home but was not able to cast to it via WIFI without the Chromecast Audio. Bought this, hooked it up, and in minutes my speaker was pumping out the jams just as I hoped it would. Compact, unobtrusive and easy to install and use.

Great device to turn any ordinary old speaker/stereo system with aux jack into wireless system including whole home audio groups. Only real downside is that device must remain on and the volume adjustment is not quite as accurate as a chromecast enabled speaker.

This Google product is a nice addition to my speaker that doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity.

Great device to use on older sound systems. Music no streaming all over house

Overall performance is very good, just be aware that it can't cast Amazon Prime Music or Apple Music/iTunes.

Chromecast Audio has been a great and inexpensive solution to get good sound (via WIFI and some good speakers I already had) throughout my house. I currently have 3 areas of the house that can play the same music at the same time and may be adding another soon.

This device looks great and lets you cast your audio without the need for HDMI. I love it.

The DAC on this device is quite good. Well worth the money since you can connect it to powered speakers, a receiver, or any 3.5mm audio input. Mine is connected to my Yamaha receiver and delivers great quality audio for a bargain price.

I bought this for our daughter-in-law. She loves it. she says that she uses it every day.

It's tiny. It plugs into my receiver with an optical connection. It works.
