I have run a lot of music streaming solutions from the Logitech Squeezebox Duet to the Sonos Connect to the Apple Airport Express to the Roku 3 to the Amazon Fire TV, but this Chromecast Audio is my favorite. Mine is connected from my Arcam irDAC via a tosink mini to toslink cable to my Rogue Audio Sphinx Integrated Amplifier and the performance is great. There is no latency (can you hear me AirPlay?) and the sound quality is nice when you choose the high resolution setting. I appreciate that it uses Spotify Connect vs a proprietary/clumsy interface that Sonos and Roku gives you. That means that you get to use the native app on your phone or tablet to control things. Also, this allows me to listen to music without the TV being on which is convenient. I utilize Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn Radio and iHeart Radio and they just turned on the multi room support which I have not had the opportunity to test. If that works as advertised why would you spend 10 times the price for a Sonos Connect ($350 vs $35)? Stay tuned on that one. Highly recommended.

Easy to set up and cast to the device. I use it with Bose speakers. I get great sound whether I have my laptop plugged in to the dock or not.

I was interested in WiFi audio using my smartphone. I was very satisfied with the regular Chromecast and decided to purchase the Chromecast Audio. My setup was easy using (electrically) powered speaker. WiFi has the advantage of using the routers bandwidth and provides the ability of listen to higher quality sound. Works great. Plus, I am thinking about buying another Chromecast Audio for a second room.

Great sound, simple set up! Just plug into the receiver and you now have a wireless sound system you can control from any device.

Great way to add Bluetooth to my older receiver. Very easy to set up and use. I'm streaming Spotify from my phone the stereo system and sound much better than thru the phone. Haven't tried the multi-room set up yet so I can't comment on that.

I have the original Chromecast and it's been reliable and works fine. I helped a friend install a home audio sound system - 6 zones in his new home. Since he wanted access to stream music I selected the Chromecast Audio to connect to his Home Theater Direct controller/amp system. He is now using Chromecast Audio with his android phone and Applie iOS tablet. Works great. Highly recommended.

This device is exactly what I have been looking for. I have some older stereos that sound wonderful, and having the capability to have Spotify and Pandora piped to them, makes them relevant again. I had some issues getting it to install using my Samsung phone and tablet so I used my iPad and it then installed fine..had something to do with Samsung settings issue connecting to two networks...

Works great. Easy to set up and enables your older receiver to become wifi capable. Great price! Recommend.

This is perfect for making any set of speakers or old stereo "smart". I bought two, one for my entertainment center, and one for the stereo in my bedroom. I love being able to send music to each one, effortlessly, from my phone or tablet. I love even more that I can send music to both simultaneously, and have music playing everywhere while I'm running around doing chores and cleaning.

Bought one to replace a BT receiver connected to my main home theater system. Audio quality is better than BT and no interruptions. I'm using an android tablet and Pandora app to play music. Only issue so far is that after playing for a while, the app sometimes does not recognize it is still playing and I cannot pause/stop the music from the app anymore. Hopefully a software update will eventually take care of that.

For $35, there's no reason not to get one. Finally glad to have something that doesn't play every sound on my phone when playing on a bluetooth speaker. Currently have it plugged into a 15+ year old stereo that hadn't been used in a long time (due to lack of wireless connectivity) and find myself listening to music more often. These can also be used to whole-home audio, but I have only one device at the time. I plan on getting a couple more soon to try it out.

I have an older Bose Wave music system that still sounds fabulous. I wanted to update the system so as to stream music via bluetooth. Bose doesn't have an upgrade device for this system (they'll give me a $200 credit towards a new one), so after looking around I found the $35 Chromecast Audio. Works very well. I can stream music from any device that has bluetooth to the Bose. (For this older Bose model, I needed a RCA to 3.5mm plug adapter). Highly recommended!

Is works great. Very easy to set up. Works very well with multiple apps.

I purchased the CCA to connect to a dedicated DAC an then to my 2CH system to work with Spotify and eventually Tidal. What more can I ask for a device that's $35. It works perfect from my iPhone 6+. Just have to remember to enable high quality audio after setting up. I was going to purchase a Marantz streamer/DAC but this got the job done for a fraction of the cost.

I bought this to hook up my Sound bar to my Google Home Mini. Easy to install and sounds great.

This device works exactly like it is supposed to. It is easy to set up and can plug into regular audio inputs (as opposed to the HDMI inputs in the regular Chromecast devices). I have one plugged into a pair of powered speakers in my kitchen and one plugged into my living room AV amp. No fuss, no muss.

Great sound quality, easy setup and use. Wish it worked with iTunes but that is Apple's fault not google.

i have only used this with an optical cable. i am pleased with the ease of setup and the sound quality.

I had been reading about the Chromecast Audio since it was first announced and have had 2 Chromecast Videos since they were first released.. I was waiting for Tidal (my music streaming source) to update their app to work with the Chromecast to take advantage of loss-less digital audio on my home stereo system. Let me say, it is even better than than I had hoped. Make sure to get a Toslink to stereo mini adapter so you can play your music thru the optical digital input on your home stereo. The sound is better than CD quality!! Well worth $35. I will be purchasing several more and daisy-chaining all my stereos in the house.

My new favorite music machine, I bought one, then 2 more to play in my home theater/ office, and bedroom. Great sound quality, especially if you connect it to a Digital to Analog Converter. It streams music directly from Pandora and Spotify so it does not drain your phone battery. The music does not stop if your phone rings. Love it! And, a future software update will let my 3 chromecasts sync, so they play the same thing.
