Customers are saying

Customers commend Chromecast Audio for its ease of use, excellent sound quality, and reasonable price. Many appreciate its seamless streaming capabilities and compatibility with other Google devices. While some users wish for a longer range and a built-in battery, the overwhelmingly positive feedback centers on the device's ease of setup and superior audio performance compared to Bluetooth alternatives. The convenience of using WiFi for audio streaming is also frequently highlighted.

My Hi-Fi dilemma has now been solved.

My Hi-Fi dilemma has now been solved. Thank you Chromecast audio. As a college student in the 80s most of my summer income was used to buy hi-fi equipment. My dilemma today was with a system upstairs and a system downstairs how do I get both systems to play the same thing without hardwiring between the two? I tried Bluetooth receivers on each system but when linked to my phone I would have to re-link to each as I went up and down stairs. Both Bose and Sonos have wireless systems to do this but at $200 a speaker that would be a huge expense. And what about my previous Hi-Fi investments (I believe there is an unwritten rule about disposing working Bose or Klipsch speakers)? Last week I Saw an article online about how Chromecast Audio would allow grouping of their units and provide multi room casting, and with Best Buy have them on sale 2 for $55 it sounded like a great solution. After about and hour of tweaking I'm more than pleased. I open Pandora on my phone and cast to my "Home" group and the whole house plays the same Christmas Carols without any lag between systems. I can even turn my phone off or leave the house and music keeps playing.

Amazing product. I replaced my cd player with this tiny device. I've ripped all my cds to hard disk and stream them using my tablet. I have all my music at my finger tips now. The sound using the optical output into a good DAC is excellent if you use lossless FLAC files. My wife is happy to be rid of all my cds that were taking up space in the living room. Happy wife, happy life. Best 35 dollars I ever spent.

Good has a nice little product here. I bought it for $30 and it is worth every penny. Can't complain about the price. It allows you to plug in music through the AUX cord or simply hook it up to your internet and play wirelessly! My only problem I am having is I don't get great wifi reception in my basement by my bar. So, I am having to get a wifi booster down there. Hopefully, it will be better after that!

    Affordable option to Sonos Connect.

Having owned Sonos Connect players and giving the Google a thorough test, the Chromecast Audio Player is a bargain at 1/10th the price. The Sonos, if money is no object, is still the premium player and the only one that does Apple Music along with just about every Music Streaming Service out there Google does the Major Services though and the ability to Cast any audio from a PC/MAC Desktop or Laptop using the Chrome browser is something Sonos can't do. Example: Open Chrome, fire up a You Tube concert or a Podcast, select the Google Cast Icon, select a Chromecast Audio Player or Group of multiple Players and almost instantly the sound is coming through. All in all a great product and a bargain.

As long as as you have an audio system with an Aux port you can upgrade it with this. I have set up our intercom system at work with this, now we can play music from anywhere, my phone, my laptop, a couple workers device. So far I haven't experienced any technical difficulties and it has worked without interruption.

I get the chrome cast audio to be able to stream music from my phones or tablets . I connected this to my whole house audio system. It works great. Now any of my family members can listen to their preferred radio station or artist in any room in the house.

I bought this as a package deal with the regular Chromecast and I'm glad I did. This may not be something I use every day but it's definitely a useful tool worth buying. I plug this in to an old stereo in my garage and stream Pandora and iHeartRadio. Quality is excellent. Just like a wired connection.

The Chromecast audio is really an awesome product for your home, especially if you play/stream music from a phone or tablet. All you need is wi-fi and speakers or audio system that you can plug an Aux cord into. Mine is plugged directly into the audio receiver in my living room; so I can control and play music on my home theater speakers from about anywhere in the house!

This Wi-Fi streaming device works very well and does what it's supposed to do with very good quality and little latency response delay from my Note 4. No real problems with it from what I can tell, I'm using it with 2 KRK Roket 8's running from 3.5mm to RCA with everything running off a single power strip, So turning both the speakers and Cromecast off when I flip the switch. It does take about 30 seconds to reconnect to the Wi-Fi and be fully capable of streaming music again after power is restored, so for people thinking about using it in a car it's not going to work (very well). Unless you have a vehicle with a Wi-Fi hotspot (like the new Chevrolet vehicles?) Or maybe a hotstop from a mobile device. Of course I haven't tryed these methods because it would become more of a hassle then to simply plug a 3.5mm AUX into the radio/receiver for me. And even then it will be at least 30 seconds until you can stream music to your vehicle's speakers after the vehicle has been started (not to mention needing a power supply cable for powering it), it would probably be best to stick with a 3.5mm Bluetooth receiver for most people trying to stream music to vehicles that do not have Bluetooth build in. So for final verdict, I would recommend this, (maybe even highly recommend) when streaming to multiple Cromecast Audio devices becomes available! So for a simple in home use with speakers, YES. But as I have seen in some of the making pictures for use on the go, or as a mobile device, simply NO.

Perfect for Bringing Your Old Speaker Back to Life

If you have an old speaker with no bluetooth capability, or (as in my case) a speaker where the bluetooth connection is not working, then this is a no brainer. It's cheap and dead simple to set up and use. My favorite bonus feature is that once I cast music to the Chromecast Audio, I can use my phone (answer calls, other apps, etc) without interrupting the music.

I've read many, many reviews on the Chromecast Audio and decided to give it a try. I have an Android phone, so this review is more towards the Android folks. It might be the same with the iPhone. Pros: -I like how this is Wifi only and it streams music from the actual source instead of streaming it off your phone. -You can use optical outputs instead of the 3.5mm cables. They use the same output port. -USB powered! I have this connected to an empty usb port on the back of my receiver. -You don't have to deal with pairing a BT device. You can give your guess a pin code and they can find and stream their music. - Most of my apps that can stream to Chromecast can stream to Chromecast Audio, obviously without the video feeds. - Works great if you have a Plex server at home. You can stream all your music from your local HDD to this via app from the Play store. Cons: - I have some MP3 files on my phone and try to play those but kept getting an error message saying that it could not sideload the files. - Analog source produce too much static background noise.

I replaced a regular Chromecast with the Audio variant for my home receiver in which I only wanted audio. I can now stream to multiple zones (no HDMI) and audio is crystal clear. Little audio prompts (beeps) help me know I'm connected when starting up. If I had more of them, I could sync audio across a variety of playback devices. It's great!
