I hoped with HOME google was thinking at a larger system concept. No they are narrowly focused on creating new cash cows. I thought casting should work across all google devices: Home,Android phones, chromecast built-in TVs, chromecast audio, chrome browser. Nope. Only NEW Chromecast will talk to NEW Chromecast devices. You wont know until you buy it. I spent $70. and 3 weeks to find out it would NOT let me play music on all my devices throughout my home. Too bad google. You blew an opportunity

Easy to install and no issues to cast sound. this could be cheaper.

Used this to hook up a small amp and speakers for my garage. Much better than Bluetooth speakers.

I hooked it up to my receiver at the sound quality was just as good as if the source was the receiver, itself.

I use it on Pandora and it is effortless, just click the chromecast icon. Sound quality is better than Bluetooth.

If you have high quality speakers you want to stream to, do yourself a favor and purchase this relatively inexpensive device.

Works as advertised... though I was expecting to be able to stream the audio from YouTube videos through the unit. Turns out you can't do that, bummer. Stinks for things like NPR Tiny Desk Concerts that are only in video format. Beyond this though, the unit works well with my receiver and acts as a de facto wireless function add-on. I added it to the receiver running my speakers in the deck, garage and sunroom. I can change the (Pandora) music without having to get within Bluetooth range or go inside.

Works flawlessly. I have 4 set up through out my house. I can cast to any or all of them or groups of them.

I had a previous one setup in family room and liked it so much, got one for the garage too!

I have many Chromecast and Google home devices, they set-up in seconds, and work flawlessly.

Works great. I have it connected to my older stereo and cast all my music to it from my phone.

I hooked this up to my home theater and linked to my Google home speaker for commands. Now I can ask the home speaker to play spotify on my home theater system using chromecast. One note, if you are hooking it up to your home theater, make sure you set up the output from chromecast to advanced output or home theater output or something like that so that the sound comes out sharper on the home theater speakers.
