I bought this to get Spotify onto an old boombox, came through with no problems whatsoever.

I have this hooked up to my old stereo receiver and it works great. Easy to use app for phone and computer.

I was gifted an older Sony surround sound, but am typically a bluetooth user when it comes to music. Wireless is always more convenient and I hated having to leave my phone tethered to the system. The Chromecast Audio works magnificently to solve this. I play directly from Google Play Music and cast it to the Chromecast, which stays plugged into the surround sound. Music quality is excellent.

Easy to install and setup. I have four of them. Works great for single or multiple rooms.

If you have an old but fully working speaker and you want to make it "smart". This would be the cheapest way. Simply connect to AUX jack and control all the music from your phone. Android Only: A lot of built-in apps. For youtube: you just need to download chromecast apps and turn on the screen mirroring. Once you done that, you should be able to hear the sounds of the youtube on the chromecast audio.

This is a great option to sonos. I have in-wall speakers throughout the house and can now control the volume and songs playing in each room at 1/10th the cost of sonos. I linked them to google home and now have voice control - we simple say play "name artist" to "name room" or whole house and the music starts. It's awesome. I would give it 5 stars If it worked directly with iTunes and amazon prime but there are work arounds and plenty of other options.

Connects to speaker and streams my favorite radio. Instead of leaving your phone to play music you can use this!

Easy to pair and works well with WiFi. It has Toslink output for best sound quality transfer to a Bose home theater soundbars. Only gripe is there's no Bluetooth SBC so that I can use a portable charger as its power source and play music via bluetooth to a portable DAC then to car speaker's AUX input. The portable WiFi hotspot workaround is iffy at best.

Works well with Google home. I have it attached to a Bluetooth speaker I already owned.

Must have misread some of the other reviews prior to buying this product for the simple fact that it CANNOT cast "Youtube," like its former Chromecast product. The wi-fi connection is great, although I did end up exchanging this product for a Bluetooth Adapter, which does play music via Youtube but the wireless connection is no where near as great, so that's the trade off. Would recommend this product as long as you know what is expected from this product.
