Brian responding bought device to enhance the sounds

I wanted a cheap alternative to Sonos as I already have speakers. When this works it is great, but many times after I stop casting, the app will not let me cast to another speaker or even the same one as it thinks I am still casting to the first one. The only fix I found was to restart my phone. Pain in the rump. The app could be much better.

Turns my old speakers into bluetooth capable. A great product.

I now have a few of these devices, and I couldn't be happier with them! Each one is connected to a speaker in a different room of the house. The audio syncing between them is excellent. I haven't had any lag or syncing issues. Pair them with a Google Home for even more audio options and voice control!

I already had one of these connected to our audio system. We wanted a way to play the same music outside connected to other self powered speakers and this was the best way. You do need USB power to run this, so you may need to plug in to an outlet if you don't have a battery powered usb power supply.

This unit is a terrific way to get music into your audio system.

This is the 5th chromecast audio i have purchased, so clearly i like them. Works as advertised, and have had very few problems. Only reason it is not 5 stars is because the interface is somewhat flaky, but thats more of a google home issue, than a chromecast issue. Hope they continue working out the kinks.

If you want to have a wifi speaker instead to connect it to bluetooth is fine...the only thing is that you must plug the cromcast in an electrical outlet ..is not rechargeable with a battery.. so the speaker won't be portable ! That's why the 4 stars !

Works great. I have used both it and Sonos and can say that if you don't want to spend as much for the Sonos then this will do. It's fairly new so i'm hoping it will get better over time, adding things like a dedicated app or app queue. If your looking for a good way to connect an older sound system to the internet then this is a good option.

Works well with the Google home speaker and casting music

This is my first Chromecast audio, I have a 1st gen Chromecast , which is old, but still usable. The setup process was not done through computer, but from an Android phone with Google Home, pretty quick and easy. Haven't test the music sound quality, first impression is good.

A lot of the functionality of Sonos at a fraction of the price!

It is a great music streamer but some of app require you to be a premium member to stream to it. Spotify requires a premium account, Pandora doesn't work well to cast and you can not audio cast YouTube. The work around is to use Google Home and cast all of your phones audio but sound quality is down and your phone uses a lot more power.

I was not wanting to upgrade all my systems but wanted the flexibility to play music in the living room, sunroom and patio at will. This was a great way to do that for little money. My biggest disappointment was not being able to cast with some apps without being a paid subscriber, like YouTube music.

I use multiple Chromecast audio devices with different types of speakers to play music from my Plex server. Some speakers are powered and some have a separate amp. But it doesn't matter how the speakers are powered, I can still get the same music in multiple locations at the same time if I want. Great solution!

I own 5 of these and have essentially created a whole house WiFi music system for around $100. If you already have speakers, soundbars, shelf systems, then these are a no brainer. App works great to set up zones and control. So much better than Bluetooth. Highly recommend.

We setup the chromecast audio to a (dance group) with the Google home and now we can tell home to play toddler radio on dance and it will play to all rooms with chromecast audio! Our son loves this! He loves trying to get Google home to talk to him! Waaaay less expensive than multiple Google homes!

Definitely worth the price, a good companion for my speakers

Would definitely buy it again . Nice and cheap product .
