I was wondering how well this would work considering the price. The software integration is kinda clunky, but once you understand the workarounds, it works fine. Sometimes you need to kill and restart iheartradio to get the casting icon to show. Once a casting session starts, you often need to control it from the Google home app.

Chromecast Audio is neat product. Audio quality is superior to bluetooth and not having to deal with syncing devices is a big plus. Ability to cast from phone, tablet, and browser makes it very versatile. Last but not least, at $35 per unit, it is the cheapest way I know of to setup a whole home audio system.

This is good for music but Chromecast is much better

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He is enjoying it and has linked our upstairs and downstairs sound systems to all of his music on a MyCloud NAS. We can choose from his extensive music library what to listen to through the MusicStreamer app. He likes it better than playing from his iPad through iTunes.

Used this to link a small stereo with a Vizio sound bar with built-in Google Cast. Worked very well for a low cost solution. I'm not sure why they haven't developed a way to link Chromecast video devices to the same group - given the audio content on Youtube, this would be pretty sweet.

The Chromecast Audio is a simple and slick device with one goal in mind: to bring wireless music streaming to systems that may be in need of updating, without having to replace all your existing kit. Google has definitely achieved that particular objective.

It's a chromecast for audio only. Great way to add streaming capability to a bookshelf or home stereo system. The only downside is it only comes with a mini-headphone to headphone connector cable in the box, while it actually supports optical SPDIF with the proper cable.

I bought this so I could cast music from my phone and tablet to speakers attached to my vintage Pioneer receiver. I had to find a RCA - phone jack cord to work with the patch panel on the back of my receiver, but once that was located it works great. Now I can control music and volume from my phone, tablet or computer.

This product is easy to set up and start using... But it is an app based device... So there aren't too many apps that will work on it right now... I bought this device in hopes it would work better that the Sonos system... In time it might... But right now it doesn't fulfill my needs... So do the research to see if it is what you need...

Device is good on its own but I used this as a line in on my older Sonos equipment and now I can distribute my google music library through Wifi speakers and Sonos at the same time and without lag. Perfect whole house party solution

Works great has good optical output The only weird thing is that it does not stream music stored on phone/android device from Google play music from the cast button in the google play music app it says you need to upload it first ,but you can still do it by using the cast button in your quick settings menu

These things are so useful. Sad they're EOL. Hopefully Spotify and others keep supporting the cast function for them, but that's probably up to Google more than anyone else :( Hoping that Google decides to bring it back.

Bought the Chromecast Audio as a Christmas present. Nice to be able to play from Google Play Music, Pandora & other sources. So easy to use. Only wish it was battery powered for better portability, but not really an issue. Paired this with a Bose Soundlink II Mini for great sounding music.

I was looking to integrate my largely Apple-based home into a format that I could put throughout my integrated speaker system. I was under the impression I had to buy an Apple airport. This Google product did the job for a third the price. In order for it to integrate with Spogtify, you have to buy the enhanced Spotify version.

Easy setup, Easy to use. A very satisfying product.

Before getting this chromecast audio, I had to use a ear phone for my phone to listen music that made me having to carry the phone when moving from living room to kitchen. Now, I am free to left the phone on the chair and move with a free hands to do something without missing the songs.

I've had some old high-end speakers without any use, and connecting to a chromecast audio gives them new life! Only reason for 4 stars is it can take 10 seconds to connect and sometimes it disconnects from your phone and will continue streaming Pandora or Spotify without any means to control it.

First, let me start by saying I have three of these. I love the way they work and how they have changed the way I listen to music in my house. I just wish that they were less expensive than the Chromecast that carries HD video to my TV. Seems like accessing music online should be a simpler and cheaper task...
