Device is good on its own but I used this as a line in on my older Sonos equipment and now I can distribute my google music library through Wifi speakers and Sonos at the same time and without lag. Perfect whole house party solution

These things are so useful. Sad they're EOL. Hopefully Spotify and others keep supporting the cast function for them, but that's probably up to Google more than anyone else :( Hoping that Google decides to bring it back.

I have old school stereo and and speaker equipment, and wanted a chordless option for playing digital music stored on my laptops as well as for streaming music from pandora and spotify. The wifi in our home is strong, so this wifi-based chromecast solution has been perfect for my needs, as well as inexpensive!

I'd like to see more cross-platform cooperation between Apple and other manufacturers, so products like this would work better for more applications. WRT the recommendation, I wouldn't recommend for Apple i-devices, but it works well for Android.

I have an older receiver and didn't want to spend 500 bucks on a new one that has all the apps and built in WIFI. Plugged this in solved all my problems. I use Google services so it streams from Google Music with high quality, hi bit rate sound. It is great.

The Google Audio Cast works flawlessly. I cast from my iPhone to it mainly music. I was disappointed that I could not cast directly from he Apple music app on my phone but I found an app that allows me to cast my entire music library. Some of the other music apps work well also like Google Music and Pandora.

I have no complaints. It did exactly what I hoped. Now I have surround sound in every room without having to buy new speakers for every room. Now I can tell me Google home mini to play the same song on any group of speakers at the same time. Its pretty sick!!

This device is more reliable than other devices on the market. I use 3 of these units to connect to amps that are connected to speakers in various locations in the house. The only down side of the device is that you have to be using Android and Google Home App.

Bought this so I can use a old speaker I wasn't using, now it is no longer sitting around collecting dust. I can now stream music to it from my other smart speakers. It doesn't have the microphone functionality, but that's not the purpose of it.

This is great to make regular speakers into smart ones. It allows you to connect them to google home and play music around the house. We were able to connect our existing sound system to Google home and control the speakers from the app or the hub.

I bought this to complete an inexpensive outdoor speaker setup. I paired this with a Lepai amp, Dual outdoor speakers, and an outdoor speaker knob I purchased on Amazon. Now I can fire up music on Google Play cast to my Chrome cast Audio and enjoy my pool speakers.

What an amazing inexpensive little gadget. I finally am able to connect not just one speaker but 3 all over the house. You can connect 5 I believe and stream music to all. Much cheaper than installing speakers throughout the house and running wire. Very happy with my purchases.

I attached this to my HK Onyx Studio 2. Now I can cast from my Google Home to a high end speaker and listen to my music with only voice commands. This device plays at the middle man between devices and does it great. It also has the ability to use fiber optic audio cable.

Love the group feature, My house is divided in zones that I can trigger depending on my activity, Also have 1 in the backyard. The function to correct the slight delay was very appreciated. Got to use those on old amps and give them a second life.

While I love Chromecast (have an Ultra hooked up to my AV Receiver) I'd sure like to see the ability to "group" it with the Chromecast Audio products so I could achieve whole house audio. I've left suggestions with Google for this... hope others chime in and ask for the same!!! Hint, Hint!

Loved the concept so I had to try it. Worked without a hassle the first time around but I have experienced issues with connecting a few times after. Still is not a reason not to give it a shot. I love it. Would give them as a present. It makes listening to music and media so much more convenient.

Simple solution to elevated all my sound system to the digital age! If your hifi system is gathering dust since compression of music streaming services and bluetooth connection don't do your system justice, this little device is a simple and very good solution. It can even connect with Toslink!

For Apple users I found you couldn't push much to the device. There were a few apps that would allow it but they were really buggy. Airport Express works better for what I needed.......cost more but allows me to AirPlay my music on my iPhone.

pro: good for multi-speaker synchronization casting easy to use works okay for primary purpose cons: does not have bluetooth --- meaning will not work with music that don't support google cast (except android) for music streaming with android, the packet loss ( from interference) is much worse than bluetooth. I believe this is due the inherent design of WiFI vs. bluetooth (more resistant to interference). However, this makes music streaming, even with android, pretty useless. when trying to streaming audio of a video, there is always a delay, unlike with bluetooth the above mentioned flaws makes this device extremely limited in usage scenarios -- i.e. if you only want to listen to music with google-cast only app, then it's okay. if you don't need multi-speaker synchronization, don't get this device.
