Simple solution to elevated all my sound system to the digital age! If your hifi system is gathering dust since compression of music streaming services and bluetooth connection don't do your system justice, this little device is a simple and very good solution. It can even connect with Toslink!

pro: good for multi-speaker synchronization casting easy to use works okay for primary purpose cons: does not have bluetooth --- meaning will not work with music that don't support google cast (except android) for music streaming with android, the packet loss ( from interference) is much worse than bluetooth. I believe this is due the inherent design of WiFI vs. bluetooth (more resistant to interference). However, this makes music streaming, even with android, pretty useless. when trying to streaming audio of a video, there is always a delay, unlike with bluetooth the above mentioned flaws makes this device extremely limited in usage scenarios -- i.e. if you only want to listen to music with google-cast only app, then it's okay. if you don't need multi-speaker synchronization, don't get this device.

For Apple users I found you couldn't push much to the device. There were a few apps that would allow it but they were really buggy. Airport Express works better for what I needed.......cost more but allows me to AirPlay my music on my iPhone.

I purchased this product to set up a wireless connection in one of the rooms in my house. The set up was easy. It works just as advertised. Now I can listen to music effortlessly and I'm pleased with the sound quality. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Amazing economical device to instantly access music over practically any streaming service. Google also sells an aux to toslink connector which could be better for some setups. Although I do not see a big difference between this device and the original chromcast.

I installed the Chromecast audio with my Vizio speaker and it works like a charm. I didn't want to use the cable connection and was glad that the gadget has an optical audio output on it. So I used an optical cable and got good output. I recommend this purchase.

I bought 3 and will buy more but have had them disconnect from the network more than I thought they would. I also knew that I could not cast directly form amazon music services but it still annoys me. Otherwise they are great I am just waiting on them to go back on sale for $25 each.

I only ended up purchasing this to listen to music in my kitchen with my Google Home. I have since purchased 2 more to play music in different rooms in my house. I even ended up signing up for Google Music so I can pretty much play any song when I want.

This is a great product, it does exactly what it is supposed to. I had to order an extra (special) optical cable so I could connect it through optics but if you are just using its aux port then you are good. I just wish I had another to use the dual receiver casting in my house.

Nice, works well, but is difficult to stop after it has been playing for a while and your phone is not in the app that your using to play from, similar to the chromecast video. I only have one so I can't speak about the grouping capabilities, not yet anyway.

My old stereo was expensive when I purchased it years ago, so not looking to replace, but it is not Bluetooth compatible. This worked great at making it Bluetooth ready! Love that I can use my phone to control it.

I have 4 of these now providing Synced Audio to four rooms in my house. Google also allows you to upload all your music so it can be streamed for free. Whole house audio for a fraction the cost.

It's great for what it does.....can be a touch glitchy

We bought a new speaker, so it only made sense to buy another Chromecast Audio. I can also confirm that the multi-speaker (multi-room) synchronization works well and is convenient to launch with speaker group assignments.

What a deal! Connect these around the house to whatever old PC speaker or soundbars and name in your house zones and you have music everywhere. There doesn't seem to be any latency in the zones. I have one in backyard, one in basement and one in my back bedroom. It rocks.

This music dongle is pretty great especially with android devices. If you have an apple phone as do I, it will take more work to use google play with your own music. I also wish wish it worked with youtube.

I use youtube playlist all day for my music. The good, I can hook it up to my speakers that doesn't have bluetooth. The bad, Youtube subscription is needed to stream using Chromecast Audio. I haven't had a chance to look into it if there's a work around for that.

Works as advertised. Casting is simple. Only issue thus far is that "group casting" seems to have some connection issues and will randomly stop playing on all but one devices. I have to stop, disconnect, and reconnect to my home group for this to start working again.

Bought these on black friday but since they changed chromecasts to be able to be included in audio groups these were no longer needed and I returned them unopened to store. However, they are still useful in certain setups just not for my setup.

Pros Easy set up Great product Cons Not compatible with apple products Would give 5 stars if my music collection wasn't all on iTunes. This may not be Google's fault, but it's still a problem if I can't use it.
