The chromcast is a simple, easy to use solution to making a TV into a media streaming device. Plug in, connect to your WiFi, and cast the available video streaming apps and other media apps like Google Play Music, Pandora, etc. You can now even cast (mirror) your devices screen and view it on your TV. For around $35, its a great, simple media tool.

I bought this thing in hopes of streaming live surf contests from my laptop to the TV, it worked flawlessly.. set it up in about 15 minutes and once i realized I needed to be logged in to my google account when trying to stream from the google browser it worked great, I have also used it fro streaming netflix and music via pandora, great toy for the price!

I bought this mainly to stream videos and mirror my desktop to my tv. It was easy to setup and it works perfectly. Great product.

When Best Buy advertised this for $30, I figured I would buy it and try it out. The set up is really easy and the access to the various features is unmatched for the money. The portabilty and easy connectivity is under appreciated. Throw it in your pocket and take it on travel with you. I find the video quality better than I had anticipated it would be.

It's great for streaming various media straight to a TV. Will only get better as more apps get added.

Comparing the Chromcast to a Roku 3 may not be fair. I find searching through Netfix on my phone/tablet, hitting play, then sending it to the Chromecast to be a pain (First World Problems, I know). Then if my phone/tablet locks I gave to unlock the device and or change screens to access controls (pause, rewind, etc), I prefer a "real" remote that I can work by feel. An Android user may have batter resorts than I've had w/ my iDevices.

Great alternate to make a TV smart. I wish there was an options to cast even the photos from iphone

I highly recommend this to anyone! This is so much better than spending hundreds of dollars on a smart tv! You can watch netflix, youtube, facebook, or anything straight from your chrome browser. It also works great with iPhones and iPads. There is virtually no lag and the device is very easy to set up. Just plug and click and you're ready to go!
