Sweet device

It is quite stable, although I have had to restart it a few times (no big deal). Works great with most applications. However, it is not so stable with Amazon Prime, but my Internet connection is slow, so that may have something to do with it. Overall, I really like it. Well worth the money!

Great way to stream to your tv, but has lag issues

You just plug it in, install an app on a wireless device (laptop, phone, ipod, whatever) and then run a wizard. Then, just pick an app that is compatible with the Chromecast and tell the app to use the Chromecast to display the content. Netflix is the main app that I used and it worked like a charm. Once you've started Netflix, just click a little icon that forwards the stream to your tv via the Chromecast. My only complaint is that streaming Google Chrome browser tabs to the Chromecast has significant lag. I was disappointed in this because I was looking forward to streaming games and other applications to the tv without having to actually hook my computer up through HDMI. I realize it was not made for this, but I had my hopes up. Otherwise, what a great product!

Amazing Technology

Particularly for those that use Netflix because it comes with 3 months free Netflix....even if you have an existing account. The net price is around $12! Netflix and YouTube stream great. It will even 'cast' your desktop in Beta mode which is great for everything except other video sources such as ABC, A&E, etc.. It works really well for spreadsheets, word documents, and PowerPoint. It's really nice to sit back with an iPhone and flip through YouTube videos you control from your phone, too. I've cast full-length movies from my iPhone: started the movie, locked the phone & set it down, and watched 2.5 hours of video while only 5% of the phones power was used. Hulu is supposed to be developing abilities to cast like Netflix, but none to date. Great device!
