The ChromeCast is a good cheap way of turning your TV into a extra screen. The only fault that I find so stupid is that ONLY WIFI DEVICES can share with the chromcast. You can not stream to the Chromecast if your machine is wired to a network (even if its on the same network). This is a feature that the ChromeCast lacks when compared to the AppleTV (which is only $55 more) and has more options. But for the economical TV solution, this works well.

It's a great device. It has reduced my need for cable and now all I do is Netflix and chill. App has a couple of weird features. From mobile device it sometimes disconnects. Videos I click will play on the phone while also streaming a different video to the TV. I have to reconnect to the TV to play the new video. So far seems YouTube specific. Could be user error, but either way it is not clear in the user interface what is going on. All and all, solid product. I bought one for every TV in my home. Which is one.

Chromecast is the perfect way to turn any TV into a smart TV at a way lower price. It is powered by Google- a brand you can trust that is known for its amazing Chrome browser and apps. Speaking of apps- Chromecast comes with amazing apps including Netflicks. Plugged directly into the back of my TV- you will also need to plug it into electric. I put the chromecast app on my iPhone and was able to control the Chromecast from my phone- no remote needed. Bottom Line- can't go wrong for the price, a great addition to any TV :)

Quick review - the Chromecast is very easy to set up, and you can watch Netflix, Youtube, and listen to music on any TV, essentially creating a smart TV. The only downside is that it is still in "beta" phase, meaning there aren't really any other apps that support it. This will all change though, and hopefully make Chromecast the be all end all smart TV device.

We've had our AppleTv device for a few years now, but we had to get this since we currently have android phones. We like to use it to stream from our iPads, phones etc. Its easy to use. We've noticed that movies through Google Play are a lot cheaper than through iTunes. Not sure if thats a special thing right now, or that they'll always be this way.

Not having a smart TV to stream netflix or watch YouTube videos. I bought the Chromecast and plugged it in to my bedroom tv. I slowly started to realized how I can pretty much stream anything from my devices to the TV. I can stream Pandora, Netflix, YouTube and even cast the screen from my devices. Eventually, I purchased one for every room in the house. My kid watches YouTube and Netflix in his room and learned quickly how to stream it. Very affordable streaming device to replace the Smart TV prizing.

let me say i really like this thing. the reasons are as follows: 1. easy setup. it literally took 10 minutes to set it up. you can't yet set it up using an ios device, but that'll come in time. 2. small and portable. i can take this with me in the back pocket, if i need to, but wouldn't think twice to take it with me to hotels. 3. no new interface to learn (and get frustrated with). viewing content on a big screen is just a button click away from devices you are already super familiar with, via app or chrome browser. no need for yet *another* remote to clutter up your coffee table. brilliant. now for the drawbacks (minor): 1. apps that support chromecast. the apps will come, but not yet for hulu, which i really want. yes, i can do it via browser, but app would be nice. 2. it is slightly buggy on netflix app. i've had to close and restart the app a couple of times. 3. no official screen mirroring. it would be great if we can put whatever content from a portable device onto the screen. i'm sure it's on its way (appcast, for e.g.).

I like Chrome a lot. It allowed us to hook the bedroom tv up to broadcast youtube videos for the little one and watch Netflix without having to set up an old gaming system or blue ray just to stream. The only hitch was, I was unaware that it would not work with my original iPad (wife has a 2, so that works) I lost my phone, did not work with older android phone and does not work with Vista on my old laptop. I have not updated all my technology because we can do so much with the tablet's etc. Chrome made it sound like you can use any smartphone or tablet, but they meant ios 6 or later and after Window's vista... Still a good value, just something to be aware of.

good product for the price and easy to set up. Much better than streaming through my smart tv or dvd player. It hides behind my tv so it doesn' t take up space like other box streamers. I wish it had more apps like amazon instant. It works everytime like a charm. My smart tv would hang ttying to load movies. It works off my tablets cpu for streaming

The Chromecast is a great device, but you need to make sure you have a good, stable internet connection if you want to stream movies from an online service, like Netflix, Flixster, HBO Go, etc. It still works fine, but you might have a few more stops and starts than you care for. That being said, this is true of any device. Locally streamed media works wonderfully. There is a good selection of apps available and using it on an Android just makes using the Chromecast even easier. Would definitely recommend!

This is the second Chromecast I've bought. I bought my first one Thanksgiving of 2013 and it is still going strong. The second one I bought on Thanksgiving of 2014 and have it connected in my living room. Very easy to set up and I am able to cast and stream the entertainment apps I like most from my iPhone and iPad. Another great feature is the Google cast plugin for the Chrome browser which lets me cast from my MacBook Pro.

We bought Chromecast not really knowing much about it. We went into Best Buy looking for a cable we can connect from our cell phone to our tv. And the sales associate suggested we try Chromecast. Boy are we glad! It's super easy to work. It's easier to work on an android/Google cell vs. Apple. On iPhones you can't view the simple stuff from your cell to your tv like pictures, videos, Safari and on the android you can. With iPhone you have to use the apps on chromecast. Overall it works great.

So far I'm satisfied with this product. Opened it up and installed it simply with Ipad. Already had other ways to use Netfilx & Youtube on TV so didn't need that. Was hoping to cast my Ipad screen to TV but can only cast from specific apps so still researching the best way to use this. For the price and what I already use if for (casting chrome browser from laptop to large screen) it's already worth buying, may even get another.

The Chromecasts is a wonderful device for the price. Simple to set up. No hidden or ongoing charges. Just plug it in, let Google guide you through the very simple setup. After that, you can use your phone or tablet to control what you watch -- and continue using your phone or tablet for whatever you want while watching. Add the deals that come with Chromecasts, and they're incredible bargain.

- easy to use - cheap - works great for YouTube and Netflix apps on iPhone. Photos and videos on Apple devices can not be projected on tv using google chrom cast, only works for android devices. However, works great with laptop - anything you see on the laptop can be projected on TV using this devices. For the price it's well worth it. I would have given five stars if there was more compatability with Apple devices.

So far we have really enjoyed the Chromecast. Simple and easy set up and easy to use with downloaded apps on mobile devices. We have watched many tv shows and movies so far. When not in use it displays beautiful pictures submitted to Google by users. You can even use your ask google features on your mobile device. The one drawback is that it doesn't come with a remote and you have to use your phone or tablet.

This is great. Easy to connect to any TV with an HDMI input.Amazing HD picture and good sound. Unbelievably low price.

I only bought this to view my digital photos since I take about 2k pics each year. I was impressed how easily the setup worked after I plugged into the back of my Sony TV. I wanted to use my MS Surface tablet but sadly it is not compatible. Then I decided I would use my Gateway laptop,but it too was outdated because it runs on Windows Vista. Well I can use my Samsung phone until I upgrade my tablet/laptop.
