We use this to watch movies off of our cell phones. I have an iPhone and my husband has a Samsung. It was very easy to hook up. Just insert the USB and download the app. Have had no glitches. Best purchase we have made in a while.

It works wonderfully for those times when a friend is over and asking whether or not you've seen some video from YouTube. Just have them find it on their phone and share it on your TV. No more huddling around a laptop, and all for $35.

I was so worried about not getting cable & wanted to try Chromecast out. I am definitely not disappointed!! It has been great. Streaming is so easy!! I would highly recommend this product. I use it with Hulu+ and Netflix--it's great!!!

My overall impression is probably a little skewed as I have a newer TV and blu-ray player that can do most of this stuff easily on their own, without taking up an additional power plug and HDMI port on my TV. I do enjoy being able to put things from Chrome back and forth between my phone or laptop and my TV, but it's honestly not getting much regular us. I got a $20 Google Play credit and it was on sale for $29.99 so it was worth the $10 I ended up spending on it, but I don't think I'd shell out $35 for a new one, since my laptop has an HDMI out.

Wanted to stream Netflix and Hulu from my Samsung S5 and Galaxy Tab 3. Samsung's own streaming stick didn't work with the Tab but Chromecast did! Go figure! Very simple setup had me streaming to my TV's in a matter of minutes!

i bought one for myself a few months before Christmas and I must say, I'm addicted to Netflix and Huluplus! Works so well, I purchase three more and gave to family member for Christmas gifts! Great purchase! No problems to report!

Even with all of the channels I could watch on cable, I love the fact that I can watch Netflix or Hulu Plus with ease! I use my smartphone apps and it quickly can be shown with a few clicks on my big screen TV. Perfect and simple.

Added this to my main viewing screen and it has changed how I watch TV. No longer touch the remote or use apps installed on my TV. I cast from my phone or tablet more than anything else.

I haven't used it much yet, but I love it so far and it was a great price! This was supposed to come with free hulu plus trial membership and I'm not sure how I go about redeeming that . . .

i was told by a friend that i need to buy some sort of splitter and some router plus some cable and then connected all along my wall to the back of the tv. but hey all i needed was a chromecast hdmi that was all i need. thank you

I love my Chromecast and use it all the time. Any time I want to watch something on the internet on TV, I use my Chromecast and it works great. It keeps me from having to watch on a computer screen, plus I can turn the volume up.

I love being able to stream movies and videos from any of my devices to my TV without having to hook up a bunch of wires or equipment. The downloads are quick and the quality is excellent. I would recommend this product to anyone

I had to return this product because it required wall power, and that wasn't easily available where the TV was. However, I have used this product before, at my parents' house, and it worked well. I might buy one in the future.

I have 50Mb/s Internet, 802.11N Wireless, 2 high-end Android smartphones, 2 Google tablets, a Chromebook, and Chrome browser on (2) high-end Windows PC/Ultrabooks. This would seem to make me a perfect candidate for a Google Chromecast. The setup is fine and seems user-friendly enough. It worked reasonably well streaming from my Android/Chrome devices. It was not flawless - I had occasional choppiness, low video resolution, and dropped signal. Not often, but it was there to keep me from a 5-star rating. I have 2 DVRs and a Roku 3, so I get the bulk of my content there. I don't often need to cast my mobile devices to the TV. For those who are mobile-only - go for it!

Overall, I really love Google's Chromecast. It's easy to use, and it does exactly what it advertises. I am an big Netflix watcher, and this device plays it in full HD and with barely any hiccups if you have a decent wifi connection. The only problem I have is streaming Youtube video. Most of the time it works, but other times it only allows me to play one video, and then it crashes, and I have to restart the device. Other than that, this device is nearly perfect.

This product is very easy to use and simple to set up. It works just as advertised. The only negative id have to say about this is that if you are a Mac user i'd recommend apple tv over it.

This is a no brainer, you plug it in and then you decide what apps you want to use! Easy to watch all your current subscriptions to HBO, showtime, Hulu and so many more. Or just to see all those photos you took on the big screen.

This has a LOT of potential. Yet sadly comes up short for the time being. While you can stream, very effectively, for some of the larger streaming services such as netflix, it falls VERY short in other more cricitcal areas for me. Amazon streaming for one, and the lack of a google app for streaming your own personal library for another. Both of which make this MUCH less appealing to me than it otherwise could be, but hey... its 35 bucks for the love of Pete.

IF I had known it was pretty much the same as having a smart tv then I probably wouldn't have purchased but since I did, it works well. Just need to find the right apps that works with it.

Chromecast far exceeded my expectations. It is amazing and does everything I wanted it to do. For me, it is better tan the other streaming player options available and also the best priced. I can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Go and most other services. Many of the other streaming players don't offer all three of those together. I did a little research and found a way to play my local media files to my tv as well. That automatically made Chromecast a 5-Star item for me. If you're on the fence about this product, just get it.
