This is a simple piece of tool to connect your tv to Internet if you do not have a smart one. It was easy to setup but you need a valid email address and a smart phone or tab to use it.

Got kids who want to binge watch Psych? Grey's Anatomy? Maybe you're addicted to viral videos on YouTube. Drive it all from you phone or tablet running Chromecast. We have two of them, one on each wifi network in our house.

cromecast is great at party's to play music and set up a playlist from your phone or let the guest add there taste . it is really simple to use. make up your own games, find old movie clips from you tube and play on your tv.

No issues but if you're not familiar with basic computer concepts it could be a bit confusing. Paired up easily for me and there are no glitches or problems streaming videos. Now I just need another one for the living room.

This product is great! I use it to stream netflix and I can use it to stream my whole screen as well, not just my webpage if I want even though that is only experimental. It works like a charm and there's no ugly HDMI Cable!

All of my TV"s are fairly new. Instead of upgrading to a smart tv. I bought this smart device. So easy to use. I've not tried the competition but I am so happy with this.

I purchased this to be used in my office and it works like a charm. Extremely easy to set up and control. I wish it was compatible with Windows mobile devices (won't work with my Lumia 920) but it's not the biggest issue for me.

The Chromecast is a great alternative to many streaming electronics. I used to use my PS3 for Netflix daily but decided to use this instead to save my PS3. Once I purchased it, I had it connected in minutes and it was very easy.

This device is a lot of fun to take what's on your Android tablet and broadcast the image, movie or game to a large television. Very simple to ''cast''. Would recommend!

You can use it : 1. to play Netflix movies on your TV, once you "cast" it from your tablet; 2. to play YouTube videos on your TV, once you "cast" it from your tablet; 3. to play GoogleMusic mp3s on your TV, once you "cast" it from your tablet; 4. connect to a dumb receiver to play WiFi mp3s over your super duper high end HomeTheater system Apparently, you do everything on your tablet/phone - browsing, search, etc. and then click the "cast" button which simply transfers the playback from your tablet to your TV. Aka, The tablet is the main thing here, like a giant remote. As somebody said, this can be done from any Android/iOS/PC device on the same network, so multiple people can "cast" through multiple "remotes". Perfect scenario - everybody at home has recent modern Android tablet/phone, and all your music is purchased/uploaded on GoogleMusic; also you have Netflix and maybe YouTube podcasts I think the device is perfectly OK for around $0-10 price, since the HDMI extender, USB cable and power block are worth at least that. I got the Netflix credits which are going against my account there. For $35 this is no good purchase, unless you have nothing else - HTPC, some streamer, etc. connected to your dumb TV. I personally prefer super dumb TV with perfect image quality over the modern TVs that tends to get broken during occasional firmware update, aka upgrade of the "smart TV" features. In that case such device is so so OK to have. It biggest weakness is the lack of local video streaming capability - it is possible, but Google keeps "killing" the apps that are doing it. Obviously, Google doesn't want it to be able to stream your local content. Given that, there are better choices to buy for slightly more money.

My wife and I really find this to be useful. We bought our TV before the Smart TV's came out so we really couldn't watch Netflix on our TV unless we purchased other expensive equipment. Chrome solved that problem for us. We are now able to watch Nexflix and anything displayed on our google chrome browser. We select our shows from our Netflix app on our phone and it plays on our TV. The same goes for our tablet devices as well. It only cost me $35 bucks. Setup was easy ( at least on our Apple devices. Not sure about others).

Every day I am discovering more applications that I can cast to my TVs with Chromecast. Purchased one for each of my TVs. With a NETFLIX subscription I am not missing cable service.

I really like what this kind of technology offers, and I expect it will lead to me eventually cutting the cable and streaming all entertainment. I wish it worked with Chrome on iPad.

Chromecast is great! We bought one for each of our children and they use it a lot. They love to watch youtube videso and netflix. It works perfectly. I love that we could name their chromecasts so they know which is theirs.

Recently picked this up since we dropped cable.picked this up when we decided to drop cable so we could stream apps from our tablets. Works great, just doesn't work with all so's.

This is the next big thing in the making. Streaming video from your smartphone or tablet to your TV is very convinient for presentations, movie reviews, home videos and just projecting your ideas to big screen TV. So far only Netflix and YouTube are supported. We need more companies to join on board so that it will truly be embraced easily by more people. I want to someday use it to Skype from my tablet or smartphone and project it my big screen tv without wires or hooking up my laptop to the TV. Price wise, very affordable.

Once you get used to the concept of a "streaming receiver" this is a decent device. One you pair it with software on your PC like Airparrot, or AllCast on your device, it becomes SUPER useful for streaming, mirroring, etc.

I have enjoyed my Chromecast that works so well with my iOS phone streaming "casting" Youtube and Netflix shows to my TV while I work out. Very easy to setup and zero maintenance!

I have two Apple TV in the house....both are awesome! However, after buying Chromecast, I found it easy to install and easy to use! I can watch all kinds of different shows from both Apple and Microsoft operating systems.

I love it so far. I can stream hulu and netflix from my iphone with ease to my tv. Works perfect on my vizio. I didn't realize it needed external power but I just plugged it into the USB port on the tv so it's all right there.
