I liked this product. The only draw back is that you need to use your smart phone as remote control. I wish they had included a remote control for this. other than that product is excellent.

i have the non-4k version wanted to test 4k version - works fine .. though i would use it more..i have been buying UHD disks .. kinda bummer that the UV digital copies are NOT in 4k too - which is why i bought this model (ultra)..the plan was to stream them through vudu,google play, etc , so i wouldn't have to throw in that disk into the Xbox one s every time i wanted to watch a 4k movie

My PLEX media player can stream 4K video with ease through Chromecast Ultra to my 4K TV. A very easy setup and no problems from day one. Make sure you purchase the USB power cable (purchased separately) to allow you to plug the unit into todays smart TVs and avoid the ugly power cord from hanging off your TV. The Ultra benefits from fast home WIFI, I use an 802.11AC wireless router.

So convenient to use, we love streaming our favorite shows and movies without having to get up after we've settled in after a long day! Go ChromeCast!

I bought a chromecast initially thinking it would be cheaper and work properly. But nothing beats ultra. Superb picture and boosted the sound quality.

Google chromecast can now be accessed by using google voice assistant from your phone, very easy to stream and has an excellent response with no lag.

This product is a great way to watch YouTube videos on your home AV system. In addition, you can “cast” what ever is playing on your Android phone.

This is my first such item, intended to provide usefulness similar to a WIFI-active 4D TV connected to cable on an older HD TV with sketchy networking and only analog cable signal. Setup was simple. I'm using the ethernet connection rather than WIFI...plenty quick. I've experienced no glitches, which is more than I can say for cable. I couldn't ask for a better picture.

I had one of the original chromecast devices that got lost on vacation, we upgraded to this one for the 4k ability. So far it has been worth it.

Recently bought a Google Home and 4k tv, so I wanted to utilize the features of each of those with a Chromecast. This is a great device! I do also own a 1st gen model and this is much quicker to start streaming and connect to devices/services. I've noticed that it does run a little warm to the touch, but no issues with it. Worth the little extra to get the 4k streaming.

I didn’t know I would love this device so much. I have an Pixel 2 XL and it works flawless together.

If you received one of the most popular home assistants of Xmas 2017 - the Google Home or Mini - you should consider a Chromecast Ultra for the ultimate TV streaming experience. Binge watching Netflix has never been easier with chromecast ultra- and makes your tv respond to voice commands. The picture quality is top notch, no lag, pausing or distortion.

I was able to stream 4k content without any issues. Better than the previous chromecast i had which often buffered while streaming HD content.

I bought this mainly so I could watch YouTube HDR videos on my LG Oled and it works very well for that. Super easy to set up and stream to. Colors and sound are great, although in my set up I am limited to stereo as it does not seem to pass bitstream information at this time, only multichannel PCM which is not an issue if you have an HDMI 2.0a compatible receiver -- I do not yet. So far I much prefer this device to my older 2nd gen Apple TV.

Bought this product and had to return it since I didn't fully research this item. I wanted to mirror my Apple device on my TV, but didn't realize until testing I needed the Apple TV. Still the features where great while testing. Ethernet connection to free up WiFi while streaming, uploading pics as screen savers, 4k compatible and setup was very easy with Googles app!

This 2nd gen Chromecast works extremely well. Very little lag when casting or mirroring. Works great and very simple to setup on the intended same-network scheme. I like that it can be configured to work on cell hotspot too. Extremely portable since it runs off USB power. I first bought the Ultra version but it requires AC power, so I returned for this.

It was extremely easy to install and to use. Con I have trouble with the buffering. I don't know if its the unit or my internet provider.

Easy to setup. Works great. Easy to use. Only difference between my older standard chromecast is that this plugs into the wall for power instead of using a USB port behind the tv. However, the adaptor has a spot for you to plug in an ethernet cable, so it's possible to have your chromecast hard wired in.

Own older Chromecast, great for 1080p TVs, Best buy associate from whom I bought my SUHD TV recommended Ultra for the new TV. It's worth it for 4K even if TV has upscaling. If you don't have fast WIFI or have a lot of wireless devices on your network, the Ethernet is a nice option. Wireless setup can be awkward depending on security settings and type of router.

Chromecast is great if you don't have smart TV or want the ability to cast a Chrome browser tab. And again using 100MB ethernet cable cuts out many of the wifi glitches involved with streaming 4K related to buffering or high utilization of wifi. Only detractor is the hardware was designed multiple years ago but it works great and software updates seem to continue.
