I received the new Google Fitbit Air Classic Special Edition Stephen Curry Rye and WOW… this thing is FIRE! First off, it’s EXTREMELY lightweight and comfortable. Honestly, after putting it on, I barely even noticed I was wearing it. The design details on this special edition are what really make it stand out though. The square piece with Stephen Curry’s name and the #LockIn slogan feels like a soft rubber material, while the outside of the band feels like a premium woven nylon texture. The inside of the band is where the creativity really shows.. it has orange rubber lines that instantly reminded me of a basketball which perfectly matches Curry’s sport and branding. One of the dopest hidden details is the number “30” worked into the orange lines on the inside of the band. That subtle touch makes the whole design feel thoughtful instead of just another celebrity collaboration. The materials also feel premium and durable. Google says the band is made from: * recycled polyester * nylon * elastane yarn * with a stainless steel buckle The orange accents, woven texture, #LockIn branding, and lightweight tracker all come together perfectly. As someone who already respected Stephen Curry for his work ethic, character, and faith, this special edition honestly feels inspiring and motivational every time I look at it. Google really snapped with this one.

I have an Apple Watch Ultra that I only wear during exercise activity. The rest of the time I prefer to wear my analog watch. I missed the step counting and heart rate tracking of the Apple Watch when I wasn't wearing it. So when Google introduced the Fitbit Air, I was excited because it fills that need for me to have fitness tracking even while wearing my analog watch. I like the fact that there are no digital faces on the Fitbit Air; it looks like a piece of jewelry and goes well with my current silver bracelet. The Google Health app is easy to use and I have a premium subscription to it as part of my Google One plan. It counts steps and records my heart rate. I paid a bit extra for the special Steph Curry edition because I liked the orange color way. The one thing I dislike is the lack of Apple Health integration, though apparently Google is working on that and will have that soon. In conclusion, get this if you want the essentials of fitness tracking in a good looking device that could pass for jewelry and doesn't look like an ugly piece of tech.

Tired of multiple screen for everything you have? I would highly recommend a fit bit air if your getting into measuring yout health with data. Being just a band is fabulous for me, it does not distract me of daily life contrary to a smartwatch. If you need to see a screen, just use your phone. It is very precise on its tracking, the first week it learns your routine and then it works as expected. Loved the Steph Curry design, the band in general is very comfy, you even forget you have it on your wrist. Battery life is really good, up to a week of daily use and it charges really quick as well. In general, I've loved the fit bit air Steph Curry Edition. Would highly advice for anyone to get it as well.

Really comfortable little wristband that keeps track of your steps and calories burned. Has never died on me due to the long lasting battery and I never forget to leave home without it!

Love how easy this is to wear all day & while sleeping. Provided good sleep tracking & insights as well as steps, heartbeat and other measurements. Very pleased overall.

Works well, tracks my sleep and walking steps and heart rate very nicely. the Google Health app works in my iPhone and is mostly good tho it has some glitches/quirky behavior when trying to log meals or scan barcodes

I don't notice I'm wearing it. I have a smart ring and i thought I wouldn't notice it but i found i needed to remove it in the kitchen, to wash face and moisturize. And initially i thought the ring would be less obtrusive than a band. Experience has proven the opposite for me.

Fit bit Air is everything I have been waiting for, I did not want a screen nor be distracted by phone call vibrations. Air is nothing if not everything for runners and athletes since its purpose is pure tracking.I like its sleep. It's definitely worth the price

I bought this item to replace my Apple Watch, all while tracking the stuff I care about. I didn't want another screen on a device or for something on my wrist to be too obvious, buzzing and giving notifications. Now, when I put my phone down, I am distraction-free, but I'm still able to track some vitals. This checks all my boxes, and now I can do some sleep tracking without discomfort.

Battery life and comfort are amazing. Nice throwback to the original days of the Fitbit! Couldn't ask for more.

So far so good. I bought this fitbit to replace my samsung watch on days i want to wear mechanical watches. Readings are good, band is comfortable, i just feel the app could use sone optimization.

This Fitbit air has been amazing no trouble just wear. I have had issues with other health trackers dying or getting notifications on the screen and being distracting. This one you open the app and there it is

I’m not an athlete — just a regular dad with a regular dad bod trying to take better care of myself while juggling the everyday chaos most dads know well. For two years I was a loyal Whoop user, and it really is a great platform, especially if you’re training seriously. But the subscription kept getting pricier, and for someone like me, it started feeling like more than I needed. Since I’m already paying for Gemini Pro (basically the same price as Whoop’s subscription), I figured I’d give Fitbit a chance, especially because Health Premium comes included. It may not offer the same depth of data that Whoop does, but honestly, it gives me everything I actually need. The AI chat feels surprisingly personal, and I keep discovering new features. I’m sure it’ll keep improving over time, and for my lifestyle, it’s been a great fit. And also the accesories are not as expensive

I love the Google Fitbit Air. It’s smaller than my Whoop and I don’t have to wear Apple Watch as I wear mechanical watches and gives me all the info I need in a small form factor without a subscription!

Received item as stated in the listing. Took some time to charge and update before pairing to my Pixel 7. Once paired, the application is very informative and give clear information of your bio-data. Charging is fairly quick and easy to set up. I use the device daily and only remove the device when going to be in contact with water. Glad i made the purchase. Thank you

Comfortable to wear 24/7. If you are data nerf you will enjoy fitbit air.

This Fitbit Air has been a happy surprise for me. I went in thinking it might enjoy better sleep tracking (I don’t enjoy sleeping with a bulky smart watch on) and came out throughly impressed and wearing it all the time… alongside my smart watch, somehow. __ Design __ I started wearing on my opposite wrist, but quickly felt that going tandem on one just felt more right. This being screen-less makes it work. It’s smaller, lighter and more narrow than my watch, allowing it to disappear a bit more without looking overlook hokey… more or less looking like simple bracelet. While I don’t care the Steph Curry tie-in (no jab at him, I just don’t care) the Rye color looks nice, with a bit of an orange accent and a brownish tone that blends in well on the arm. The end of the tab has his name, which I worried about a bit, but when worn appropriately, it wraps out of view from my perspective. As an added plus, the metal loop on this one is a titanium-like finish that matches my watch perfectly. I also find that wearing it solo for workouts feels more freeing than a smart watch. Watches are wider and can interfere a bit with certain exercises when bending your wrists. The Air feels barely there, being lightweight, small, and with a narrow band. The woven band does absorb some sweat, unlike my silicone watch bands, but I’ve enjoyed this Fitbit enough that I may spring for a workout band as well. It’s also more easily stainable, so I had to take it off for dirty activities like gardening. __ Performance __ As I wore the Fitbit, I quickly realized how much I enjoy having 24-hr insights. For one, it captures calories burned during sleep - something I hadn’t been internalizing previously. And it puts that calorie metric front and center in the Google Health app. I didn’t realize how much I was missing. When you’re trying to lose weight, little more helps you lose than understanding calorie intake and burn rate. The body often adapts to exercise, so calories are seemingly the most important. Yet, my smart watch has never focused on this. Step count is also nice to return to, as it feels like a good measure of general movement during the day and over time. Unlike my smartwatch, it also lasts a very long time on a single charge. In my testing, it lasted a full 7 days straight and still had 20% battery remaining when it suggested that I take it off for a charge. Charging only took 30 mins and it informed me (via push notification on my phone) that it was ready to put back on. It really makes constant sleep tracking convenient as I don’t have to worry about the battery life. __ The Unexpectedly Useful AI Coach __ At time of review, this came with a 3 month trial of the Gemini-powered AI health coach as part of a premium subscription. This paid subscription mostly just adds this specialized coach to guide you toward whatever your goal may be. I nearly skipped it as it seemed like it would just be more AI nonsense, but I figured it might be worth checking out if free. Surprisingly, it beat my expectations and is proving to be a great way to take action on all of this health and fitness data I’m capturing. While some responses seemed like boiler-plate encouragement, it quickly learned that I use both a Peloton and Tonal and used that knowledge to suggest specific workouts based on the level of activity I needed at the given time. It provided more nuanced suggestions that were more actionable. Often chiming in twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening through push notifications, it’s called attention to some of the best times to take advantage of the day, often calling out when the weather will most agreeable for a walk, etc. - almost like a personalized outlook for the day. When it came to fitness goals, it was smart enough to notice that I could use a break after a longer lifting session - suggesting that I take a day to rest as I was already on track to meet my weekly goals, for instance. It’s fairly good at being referential (at times too much, just as other chat bots love to ‘name’-drop bits of inform from your past comments) but I was more surprised by some of the details it would bring up. For instance, it gave some insight into how achieving more deep sleep was likely impacting recovery of hormone levels, and encouraging me to sleep in a bit a following day after getting wiped out. You can also engage more with the bot ask it gets to know you, but I appreciate that it doesn’t nag beyond the twice daily suggestions. It feels very accurate and I’ve loved my sleep insights. More-so than my smartwatch, Fitbit has been better at identifying and logging activity sessions. It’s not all perfect, though… early on, it got confused by an auto-identified activity session (gardening) and assumed it was one of my Tonal workouts. By responding back, I clarified that it wasn’t one of my planned weightlifting sessions, but it never recovered despite saying that it would correct it. Later in the week it continued to count this activity as me successfully completing my weightlifting goal early, when I hadn’t. __ Overall __ At the end of the day, I’m thoroughly happy with this affordable, lightweight Fitbit. Its complete focus on health tracking beats several of my smartwatch’s features and integrates well on iOS, learning and sharing with other health inputs. The band looks great and lacking a screen is a benefit, not a hindrance, as I still want to wear a watch. The AI Coach (premium feature) is a surprisingly great addition, giving useful insights and suggestions without nagging. If your goal is make meaningful progress toward your goals, it feels crucial, allowing you actually do something with all of this health data you collect. Highly recommended!

I’ve been a Fitbit fan since 2018. My first device was the Fitbit Charge, and I’ve relied on Fitbit ever since to monitor my health, track my stats, and keep me motivated. A couple of weeks ago, Google released its new unified health platform, Google Health app, replacing the Fitbit app and bringing all of Google’s wearable health tracking devices together into one integrated experience. Right on the heels of that release, the new Google Fitbit Air arrived at my home. At first, I wondered why it didn’t have a watch face, since I’ve grown so accustomed to the Fitbit Charge series. It only took a moment for the reasoning to click. My wife saw the new Air band and was immediately drawn to the design of the Google Fitbit Air: Special Edition Stephen Curry. I had given her a Fitbit before to help track her health and workout stats, but she never cared for wearing a watch. The Air band, though, is a completely different story - this one she actually likes. One of the main reasons I’ve stuck with the Google Fitbit line is its reliable, consistent health tracking. Day after day, it gives me step counts, cardio heart rate readings, and activity data I can trust. Each morning, I check my Fitbit sleep score and data, and I have to admit - it’s impressively accurate across the entire sleep spectrum. It nails the timing on Total Awake, REM, Light, and Deep sleep without fail. After eight years of Fitbit sleep tracking, I can tell you this much: when the score is good, I wake up ready for the day, and when the score isn’t so flattering, I can feel the drag before I even make it to my morning tea. Sleep tracking has always been strong, but it’s now improved further by being “calculated with new algorithms in Google Health.” Honestly, with the range of health metrics Fitbit Air monitors, it’s basically the world’s most polite little surveillance device - quietly tracking the things that matter enough to keep me rolling along in good tune. My favorite Health Metrics include: - Core Health Metrics – Resting heart rate/heart rate/heart rhythm - Weekly Cardio - Distance – steps and miles (does not record bike miles though indicates spinning/cardio) - Readiness – Heart rate variability/past week of sleep/resting heart rate - Calories burned - Zone and Exercise days - Hydration Log - Strength and Cario workout videos Notes: - Water resistant to 50 meters = swim proof - Excellent battery life – up to a week - Fast charging - Straightforward - no nonsense design - Seamless transition into Google’s new health ecosystem - Focuses on health and fitness - not apps and distractions - Proven durability - kind that builds confidence over time - AI Health Coach (Gemini subscription): can build weekly workout plans and targets that keep you on track – Impressive Google Fitbit Air is a full-time health tracking band, built to record your body’s signals continuously and quietly. I like how lightweight and comfortable it is. I can wear it 24/7 without even noticing it, which is a big part of why I’ve stayed with Fitbit for so many years. I’ve tried a few bulkier sports watches - nice devices with plenty of features - but even with all that, I’ve stayed with Fitbit. Where the runner meets the road (pun intended) for me is this: it all comes down to one thing - motivation is paramount to everything that follows.

After relying on a loaded smart watch as the main device to track my workouts, the new Google Fitbit Air takes a refreshingly minimalist approach to fitness tracking. It is much more comfortable than a bulky watch that, honestly, I can’t read anyways without glasses which I don’t wear during gym sessions. The FitBit Air design focuses on lightweight, screen-free wellness monitoring simplifying my workout experience and that is largely what makes it appealing. I opted for the Stephen Curry edition honestly because of the orange color which is one of my sports team’s colors and I usually wear a lot of orange. Out of the box, the band was very easy to set up after a quick charge with the included magnetic charger and using the Google Health smart phone app. After answering a few personal questions regarding my age, build, health and routine, I had it start tracking my workouts similarly to how I was using my smart watch during workouts. As with most fitness trackers, the FitBit Air tracks essentials like heart rate, sleep, steps, distance, calories burned, and workout activity. Some of the more technologically advanced metrics it offers are measuring SpO2, heart rate variability, skin temperature variation, Cardio Load, Daily Readiness, and AFib monitoring through the companion Google Health app. Battery life is another strong point with up to a week of use and fast charging that can deliver roughly a day of power in just a few minutes. Because it tracks all this information throughout the day and night, the AI-powered coaching features, which are tied to a subscription but I strongly recommend, are incredibly useful and give you amazing recommendations to stay on top of your health. I noticed an immediate difference in just the interaction I was having with the FitBit Air versus my smart watch which was, in my opinion, just spitting out data and numbers that I was expected to sort through, decipher and adjust my life and workouts accordingly. Using the Google AI Coach before and after workouts, it felt as if I was working with a real life coach that immediately knew what the data meant, asked how I felt after working out, asked how my injuries felt, and made specific recommendations on what to do next such as drink lots of water after high intensity workouts, stretch before bed, get extra rest/sleep, etc. Another thing I love about the FitBit Air is it’s much more comfortable to wear at night versus a smart watch that I usually keep on a charger at night anyways. After having it track my sleep a few nights, I realized I wasn’t getting enough deep REM sleep which had been affecting my energy level during the day. After reviewing the data, I decided to make a doctor’s appointment because of a potentially serious health concern that needs to be addressed. Overall, the Fitbit Air stands out because of its comfort and simplicity. Its slim, discreet design makes it easy to wear all day and night, which is especially important for sleep tracking. The tradeoff is that athletes or data-heavy users may find it too passive: there is no screen, no onboard GPS, and workout detail is more limited than what you would get from higher-end trackers or smartwatches. Still, for casual users, beginners, or anyone tired of notification overload, the Fitbit Air is an excellent choice. At this price point, the band is positioned as affordable entry point for people who want health data without constant notifications or a bulky device on their wrist which is annoying while trying to stay focused during gym sessions.

Highlights: * Lightweight and comfortable to wear * Swappable bands that are easy to put on and take off * Long-life battery lasts about a week * Fast 5 minute charge for a full day’s use * Waterproof for most activities * Can charge without removing the sensor from the band Considerations * Have to take off the band for about 90 minutes to fully charge * Proprietary magnetic charging cable * Currently doesn’t sync data /to/ Apple Heath (just from) * App isn’t as clean and easy as the prior Fitbit app * Questionable AI coaching Most people wear a watch so they can tell the time. Many choose to wear a smart watch which can also show phone notifications and track basic health stats like steps, activity, heart rate or blood oxygen levels. For the average person who isn’t a fitness enthusiast, this is usually enough although most smart watches typically need a daily charge. For those who aren’t necessarily professional athletes but still want to dig a bit deeper into their stats or want longer battery life, a dedicated fitness tracker is a likely upgrade or companion to a smart watch. I am by no means a professional athlete. In fact, I’m just a regular guy (with a gadget fetish) who likes to track my stats in the hopes that they reveal actionable trends to make my life just a bit better. I already wear an Apple Watch on my non-dominant wrist (left) and that gave me the basics. I then added a smart ring on my right hand to fill in some health and data gaps; especially while sleeping since the watch is on the charger every night but I wear the ring 24/7 (minus a quick charge every 4-5 days). At first glance, the Fitbit Air just seems like a wrist-worn version of the ring in that it also has no screen, lasts longer on a charge than a watch and seems to provide a bit more fitness-related information than a typical smart watch. The primary differences, however; seem to be in the app that crunches the data and provides insights. That and you can more easily change up the look of the Fitbit than you can a smart ring. Overall, the Fitbit Air and smart rings are very similar in the stats they gather and their minimal aesthetic by not having any displays or on-unit feedback. While the smart ring is more health and wellness-focused in general, the Fitbit Air is a tad more fitness-focused. The subtle difference is that fitness generally means more activity like running, biking, etc. Both measure similar stats, are waterproof and last for nearly a week on a charge but tend to focus on different stuff. The Fitbit Air is incredibly light and very small. The sensing unit can be removed from the band for cleaning, charging or easily swapped to another band for fashion changes. To charge the sensing unit, you do have to take the band off which means gaps in your data, but you don’t need to remove the sensor from the band. The charger is magnetic but not inductive in that it has two spring-loaded pins that match metal pads on the sensor. Charging is really quick - a 5 minute boost will give you about a day’s worth of sensing and about 90 minutes on the charger will get it from 0 to a full week’s life. The band that came with mine is the Stephen Curry woven one. It looks sporty and fashionable and is soft to the touch with a rubbery inside to keep it from sliding around your wrist. Just be aware that this band wicks up the sweat and takes a while to dry after washing unless you towel it off. So expect either having to wear a moist band while it air dries, or have gaps in your data after cleaning the band post-workout until it air dries before you put it back on. Like a ring, the intent of the Fitbit Air is to track and store your stats silently in the background and then sync them to an app on your phone. The new Google Heath app then takes that recorded data and attempts to make sense of if all so you can make informed decisions. There is also an AI-based “coach” if you’re in the paid (or free trial) Premium subscription. All of your data is stored and visible in the app even without the paid subscription, but you’ll have to spot the trends and crunch the numbers yourself. I found the app to be mostly OK but a bit clumsy and cluttered. All of the data is there but there’s a ton of text from the AI Coach that you’ll need to read or scroll through. The Coach, like most other AI’s, can hallucinate and make inferences where there are no correlations or with insufficient data. For example, I woke up last night to use the bathroom and my Google Health Coach scolded me for getting too little sleep by waking up so early even though I went back to sleep right after. Then, later in the day more data synced over and the Coach’s advice was updated to be a tad more reasonable. I appreciate that the Google Health app reads data from my Apple Health app so it can get a fuller picture of all the data that other wearables in my ecosystem have gathered, but as of the time of this review, nothing gathered by this tracker is added to that centralized Apple Heath record. Perhaps with Android this is a non-issue, but as an Apple user, I really want the Fitbit Air’s data to contribute to my overall health picture that also includes the info gathered from my watch, smart bed, etc… Unlike some other trackers, all of the data gathered is available in the app without having to sign up for yet another subscription. After the trial is over, you have to start paying if you value the AI-enhanced coaching. I’m not sure I will after this trial, but we’ll see…. Activity tracking is another thing I use my trackers for. The watch does a pretty good job of sensing and offering enhanced tracking for activities like walking, riding my bike or lifting weights. The ring is OK and generally just adds more color for a more nuanced picture of the watch’s activities. The Fitbit didn’t really sense these activities as well as the other trackers. My heart rate data was there, but not everything was automatically tagged as the proper “workout” event. I did two back-to-back 20-minute spin classes that the watch and the ring identified properly, but the Fitbit just called it a single 45-minute ride. Without any on-device feedback, you kinda have to wait until you’re done and the data is synced to make edits and adjustments in the app based on memory. Hopefully these will improve with future updates to the sensor unit and the app. Battery life has been great so far. I only take off the band when showering to keep from getting the band unnecessarily moist. Otherwise it’s been on my wrist all day every day gathering data. So far, it’s been 4 days and the band still has 56% battery left. As mentioned above, the main point of these trackers is two-fold. Firstly the tracker itself must be comfortable to wear as long as you want, have a battery that is convenient to charge and confidently gather all pertinent data accurately. Secondly, the app and or subscription must make sense of all of that data by showing valid trends and presenting actionable suggestions. This Fitbit Air definitely is comfortable to wear, has a long-life battery that charges quickly, and gathers a ton of stats. The app is at best a work-in-progress. The AI Coach which is only available by subscription (after the free trial) is helpful but as with all AI, anything it says should be verified and double-checked. I’m hopeful that the app will improve, including the ability to add to Apple Health. I’m also hopeful that the updates to the app and/or AI Coach will be able to retroactively make better sense of all the data it already collected. The typical person doesn’t need to wear 3 fitness trackers; a smart watch, a smart ring and fitness band like the Fitbit Air. If you’re already wearing a smart watch but want at bit more heath and fitness data and insight, a ring or dedicated band can supplement that info. This Fitbit Air is far less expensive than a smart ring and doesn’t require an expensive subscription (unless you want the AI Coach). However, the free app still needs some improvements to be truly helpful. If a wrist band style tracker meets your needs, you can’t go wrong with the Fitbit Air, but you might need to wait a bit for app updates before it becomes truly useful.
