I’ve been using the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL for about a month now, and overall, it has been a fantastic experience. Design & Display The matte finish on the back is a nice touch—it resists fingerprints better than previous models. The phone feels premium in hand, though it is slightly on the heavier side. The 6.8-inch Super Actua OLED display is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colors and excellent brightness. Using the phone outdoors in bright sunlight is no issue, thanks to its 3,000-nit peak brightness. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and animations buttery smooth. Performance & AI Features The Tensor G4 chip does a great job handling daily tasks and multitasking. Apps open quickly, and I haven’t noticed any lag, even with demanding apps like Lightroom and gaming on Genshin Impact. The AI features are a highlight—Circle to Search is surprisingly useful, and the AI-powered call screening is better than ever. Camera System This is where the Pixel 9 Pro XL truly shines. The 50MP main sensor takes amazing photos, even in low light. Google’s AI-powered "Best Take" feature helps tweak group photos so everyone looks good. The 5x optical zoom on the 48MP telephoto lens is super sharp, and the ultra-wide lens captures excellent landscape shots. Selfies are also noticeably better with the new 42MP front camera. Video quality has improved too, with 8K recording and better stabilization. Battery Life & Charging The 5,060 mAh battery easily lasts me a full day with heavy use, and with lighter use, I can get almost two days. The 45W fast charging is much needed—I get 70% charge in about 30 minutes. Wireless charging is a bit slower but still convenient. Software & Updates The Pixel 9 Pro XL runs on Android 14, and the clean, bloat-free experience is a joy. Google’s promise of 7 years of updates makes this a long-term investment. What I Didn’t Like Still gets warm when gaming or using the camera for extended periods. Battery drain with certain AI features Final Verdict The Pixel 9 Pro XL is an amazing smartphone, especially for those who love photography and a clean Android experience. If you’re into AI features, the new Pixel-exclusive tools are genuinely useful. While the phone isn’t perfect, it gets so much right that I’d highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a premium Android phone.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is a top-tier Android phone with a premium design, OLED display, and powerful Tensor G4 chip. Its pro-level triple camera system excels in photography and 8K video. It boasts excellent battery life with fast wired/wireless charging, runs clean Android 15 with 7 years of updates and integrated Gemini AI. Pros: Great design, display, performance, cameras, battery, and software. Cons: non... Or a little pricey Overall, it's a compelling flagship for those seeking a top-notch Android experience with strong AI features.

My previous Google Pixel phone was a Google Pixel 8 Pro. I am very happy my Google Pixel Pro 9 XL. Bigger screen good for my eyes. bigger battery lasts longer for me during the day. I love taking selfies with higher megapixel so I look sharper. My phone looks nicer with its new design. I love the AI and its numerous features. It was was worth upgrading.

Best phone I've owned, came from the Pixel 6. It fixed the heating issues, has faster charging, I end the day with 50% left with heavy use, and the best display I've ever owned. I recommend going into settings and enabling 'full resolution' if you want the display quality to be as advertised. Another thing I want to point out people have been saying the processor is bad and it isn't. Compared to devices that come with the latest snapdragon processor it doesn't hold well, but from my testing emulators run amazing unless you are into windows game emulators then I don't recommend the phone. Great phone for rooting too but you'll miss out on the on-device AI features and stuff like google wallet, but those things can be fixed my installing a magisk module.

I've been using the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL for a couple of months now, and I must say, it's one of the best Pixel phones Google has put out yet. Here's my detailed experience: Pros: Design and Build Quality: The Pixel 9 Pro XL feels premium in the hand with its polished metal frame and frosted glass back. It's a significant step up from previous models, offering a design that rivals the likes of Apple and Samsung. The flat edges and display give it a modern look, and it's comfortable to hold despite its size. Display: The 6.8-inch OLED screen is stunning. It gets incredibly bright, making it visible even under direct sunlight, and the colors are vibrant yet accurate. The 120Hz refresh rate makes everything from scrolling to gaming incredibly smooth. Camera: Google's camera software is phenomenal, and the hardware on the Pixel 9 Pro XL doesn't disappoint. The photos are sharp, with excellent dynamic range and color balance. The 5x optical zoom is particularly impressive, providing clear images even at a distance. Night mode photography continues to be one of the best in the business. Software and AI: Running on pure Android with Google's latest AI features, the phone feels intuitive and responsive. Features like Magic Eraser, Call Screen, and the enhanced Google Assistant (Gemini) are genuinely useful in daily life. The promise of seven years of updates is a massive plus for longevity. Performance: While not the fastest on synthetic benchmarks, in real-world use, the Tensor G4 chip handles everything from multitasking to gaming without any hiccups. The phone feels snappy and fluid. Cons: Battery Life: Although better than its predecessors, the battery life still doesn't quite match up to some competitors. On heavy use days, I find myself needing to charge by evening, which is a bit disappointing for a flagship device. Charging: The charging speed isn't the quickest out there. It takes about 80 minutes to fully charge, which is slower than some of the competition offering 30-minute full charges. Fingerprint Magnet: The glossy sides attract fingerprints like a magnet, which detracts from the otherwise premium look. Overall: The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL stands out for its camera prowess, clean software, and the thoughtful integration of AI in daily use. If you're deep in the Google ecosystem or value camera performance and software updates, this phone is a top pick. However, if you're looking for the absolute best in battery life or the fastest charging speeds, you might want to consider other options. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars - It loses half a star for the battery and charging speed. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you prioritize camera quality, software experience, and long-term support.

A Reliable Performer for the Past Year

I owned this Pixel 9 Pro XL for about a year and used it as my daily driver before recently trading it in for the new Pixel 10 Pro XL. This phone was an absolute workhorse and served me incredibly well. The Good: The camera system remained top-tier for my entire year of ownership. It consistently produced incredible photos that were sharp, vibrant, and great in low light. The clean Pixel software experience is also a huge plus—no bloatware and always the first to get Android updates and new features. The display is still beautiful and performance for daily tasks was smooth and reliable. The Areas for Improvement: Over the last few months, I did notice the battery life starting to fade. It began to struggle to get through a full heavy day on a single charge, which was a primary reason for my upgrade. Also, the 128GB of storage started to feel a bit tight, especially with all the high-resolution photos and videos. Conclusion: Overall, the Pixel 9 Pro XL was a fantastic phone. If you're looking for a device with a world-class camera and a pure Android experience and can find it at a good price, it's still a very capable option in 2025. For me, the improved battery and performance on the new model made the upgrade worth it.

Good phone but : Pros : -IP rated -Pretty fast (though most mid range phones for non gaming purposes should be similar in speed) -Camera is quite good especially zoom range -wireless charging is a nice feature to have your port last longer -Display is pretty bright -Fingerprint scanner works well even with a cheap tempered screen protector -Thermometer is a pretty neat feature and you can now use it for body temperature -It has the find my device option -sound quality (from the speakers) is quite good. -The finishes are very nice. -I'm able to get over 1gb/s with 5g network -Audio recording is good -Add me feature does work pretty well. -Camera app can be opened very fast. cons : -battery isn't great -a bit bulky -GPS isn't always on mark same goes for direction (cheaper phone has sometimes better accuracy) -have gotten glitches in YouTube, Google and connectivity issues. -Find my device (forgot if that is what you call it) isn't that accurate -Many IA feature aren't available depending where you use the phone -The slow motion is capped at 240Fps where some lower end phones can get to 1000 or 2000 fps for a third of the price - 50mp are slow to take and will be blurry if you move while taking them -50mp will also be slow to process when wanting to view them -Even 12mp pictures need to be processed and get a loading time (though very short) -No 8k video (even if not useful in most settings it is a little expected when phones half the price offer this option) -Focus distance is a bit long, for closer shots you need to use the wide angle lens. -I don't really have a reference but quick shots or during action come out as blurry than with phones much cheaper. -The charging isn't that fast but sufficient -No photosphere -I don't really find the camera settings ergonomic nor can I find a full manual photo mode (with obturation speed for instance) -No IR blaster (not that useful anyway) -No headphone jack (it's the new "trend" so it's "standard") -No micro SD expansion and the storage is a bit low on the starting models -Gemini, at least for my use cases isn't as good as the competitor(s). Having a phone 4 times cheaper before switching to this feels like an upgrade but not on everything. In the end for 4x the price I get : - a nicer camera (better wide angle, main and zoom sensor) but the main sensor still doesn't let you make quick shots in interior without them being blurry or quick action shots. In everyday use case you don't really notice the upgrade much, except when taking the 50mp shots and being able to crop into them. -Faster 5g (but between 0.6gb/s or 1.1gb/s for my use case it doesn't make a difference) - a brighter display -a bit faster phone but you lose : - a lighter thinner phone -faster charger -included power brick -better GPS -IR blaster -more storage -double physical sim At this price point and cheaper you have phones with 1 inch sensors and nicer periscope zooms. Those cheaper phones also will get a SD 8gen3 and more storage, faster charging and some may have a longer lasting battery. But does the phone being better on paper make it better in actual daily use (and for cheaper)? This phone does what it's made for, but is it the best bang for your buck? I don't think so.

Camera and display quality are excellent. A clean Android experience with a few Google software touches provides a good user experience. If you need a simple UI experience, a larger display, and a great camera, this will be a good option. You cannot expect much with raw performance and heavy gaming .

Pixel never disappoints! I was still rocking with my Pixel 8 pro and had no issues, other than it got run over by a tractor. I love googles commitment to quality and innovation. Everyone is always shocked I have a thermometer on my phone. As well all my apple friends always want to take pics on my phone. I tell everyone they should convert to Pixel! Love the design — it feels much more refined and premium compared to previous models. The camera is excellent for photos, and overall performance has been smooth for the most part. I’ve used the Pixel 7 Pro before, and this feels like a solid upgrade in terms of look and build. That said, the 128GB storage fills up quicker than expected. Around 10GB is used by the system, another 10GB by temp files, and 5–10GB by the AI core, leaving less usable space. I also experienced the phone freezing completely twice since March, but otherwise, it’s been reliable.

So I've been using the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL for about 6 days now and I've got to say that for the first time in a long time.. I'm excited to step out and use my new phone. I'll start by saying that I consider myself a photographer and videographer. I'm not a pro by any means but I enjoy sharing photos and videos of life and the world around me. If you are reading this review.. odds are by now you already know that the Google Pixel line of phones are known to have some of the best camera hardware and software in a smartphone. This year's Google Pixel has a 42mp front facing camera, a 48 mp ultra wide camera, a 48 mp telephoto camera that Zooms up to 30X ! and a 50mp wide camera. It's loaded! I've had so much fun going out for walks and capturing photos and videos with this phone. It is jam packed with so many fun camera features and editing tricks. I've tried a lot of them and I'm still finding new things to do with it each time I dig through the menus. You can toggle between a 12mp and 50mp setting but oddly enough I've found that leaving it set to 12mp seems to create sharper photos. If you select 50 mp setting and zoom in past 5x the photos tend to look super soft and mushy. Don't know if it's just the way it is, or if it'll need to be fixed with a future software update. Anywhooo. if you leave it at the default setting, you will be super pleased with photos taken with each lens on this phone. The Google camera app makes taking creative photos and videos so easy. My favorite modes so far have been "action pan", "add me" , and video "Pan". There is a bunch of other cool photo and video modes to play with as well. "Add me" allows you take a group photo of your friends and loved ones, then you hand the phone to someone in the group while you step into the shot and have them take a photo with you in it. The software will add you into the previous photo and everyone will be in the photo! This year's Google pixel has an excellent video camera. I feel like google phones in the past always had mediocre video quality, but this time around it has really impressed me! I can't wait to take it to a concert or other event and capture some cool videos! The camera app also has a mode called "video boost" when recording. You have to toggle it on every time you are about to record a video but it will upload the video to Google's servers, process it and hand it back to you with better dynamic range, contrast and even render unto 8k 30 FPS if you would like! Oh man, I'm sorry but I could talk about the cameras all day long. If you've made it this far.. just take my word for it, you will love the cameras on this phone. The rest of the specs on this phone are pretty great, you get the new Google Tensor G4 chip, and Gemini Nano / Titan M2 chip. It has 16 gb of ram, and this variant has 128GB of storage. Not enough if you ask me. Especially if you are like me and love taking photos and videos. You will have to offload photos and videos onto a hard drive or the cloud often. The phone supports 5G, wifi 7, bluetooth 5.3 and has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen. The fingerprint sensor is very fast and reliable. I have not had any issues unlocking my phone. The screen is 6.8 inches and very bright! Google claims 3000 nits, but I leave adaptive brightness on so it doesn't hit its peak brightness often unless I am outside. it is very usable outdoors in this bright Texas sun. The hardware specs on this phone won't be the best on the market, but where this phone shines is the software included on here. There is a ton of Google Ai software in here. So much that I still have yet to use every feature fully. Google introduced "Gemini" on this Pixel. I believe it is the name of the new artificial intelligence program that I'm guessing will replace Google Assistant in the future. I wasn't able to try the "gemini advanced" mode because it is subscription based model and it seems to conflict with the Google One plan I already have. So I can't speak of all the features that Gemini Advanced will provide but from what I've used so far.. I would say that it's been pretty useful for day to day tasks. I still feel kind of weird letting Ai do my work or thinking for me, but I suppose as time goes on I will get used to it. One of my favorite features so far is "call notes". When you call someone or a business.. the phone call will be recorded and then transcribed or summarized for you with notes. I know I know.. low key creepy. But I can see it being helpful. Especially when calling to make an appointment or if someone provides you a phone number or other information that needs to be written down. If you decide to use the call notes feature, it will play a message in the call saying that the call is being recorded so that the person on the other line is made aware of it. There is so many helpful and cool software tricks on this phone that I am going to suggest that you go online and read all about them. The phone will also have plenty of helpful tips and guides to walk you through them all. If I haven't lost your attention yet, I feel like I will if I keep on going on about all the software features on this phone lol. But I will say.. there is so much helpful smart software packed into this phone that you'll be learning about it all for weeks. The build quality of this phone is very nice. I love it actually. It is lightweight but solid. The back of the phone has a nice soft texture to the touch. the glass on the back does not get greasy or slippery. The rails are polished aluminum and look very beautiful. The camera is raised looks pretty futuristic lol, but it will not make the phone rock when laid on its back. I love this phone, I want to carry it without a case.. but for now.. I Don't want to risk breaking it. Google says the phone is 2x more durable than last years! How durable exactly? I don't know, but glass can break, and polish aluminum can scratch.. so I'll keep it in a case for a while. I know, this review is quite long, and I'm sure I missed a lot. But the TLDR is This is the first Google phone I have been excited for in a long time. It's also the first phone I've enjoyed taking photos and videos with as much as I enjoy shooting with mirrorless cameras. My only complaint is that 128gb is not enough for this phone. You will definitely need to rely on a cloud service, most likely Google's cloud services.. and or a hard drive to store all your recorded memories. Google says it will provide 7 years of updates to this phone, you will definitely fill the storage on this phone very quickly. If you are like me and already subscribe to Google One or some other cloud storage, then you will be fine with this bare minimum. If you don't want to pay a subscription for cloud storage, then I suggest you but a variant with more storage. Would I recommend this phone? 100% for sure. Especially if you are already a fan of android phones, and or Google phones. If you've been waiting for a phone to make the switch from the fruit company, I think you will also love this phone. The cameras and the magic editor software alone are the best reason to make that switch
