GoPro Wireless Mic Set Complete Kit is a complete upgrade for your camera. I am using it with my Mission 1. As an internet podcaster and vlogger, I really appreciate how it enhances the audio and reduces outside and background noise. This is achieved with active noise reduction. The control knob helps you adjust levels with an easy turn. Mics can be clipped on or magnetically attached, so they are very versatile. The design of it is really nice; everything stores in its own charging case, keeping everything in one place. The placement of that missing camera itself is kind of odd, but it works very well. And the two included mics work very well. You get everything you need in one bundle, including a bag to carry it all in. Definitely something you want to add to your GoPro and mobile devices via Bluetooth, and check compatibility with most DSLR cameras. With a running time of up to 20 hours, you can stay with the action. So basically, it works with almost any device. If you're looking for a mic upgrade, definitely check this one out.

GoPro has arrived with a sleek, new wireless mic kit that's shockingly small, light-weight and versatile. GoPro really read the market and designed something that's useful even outside of their own product lines, but my experience was with using it with their new Mission 1 Pro camera. + Pros + • The design of this kit is well thought out and executed. Everything has a place so it's easy to keep up with the transmitters and receivers and there's even a handy outer carrying case for cables, memory cards, mic covers etc. • The case reminds me of a sleek pair of wireless headphones and as such there are status lights that provide instant battery level info. • GoPro really thought about all the different ways (and devices) you could use this with and there's no shortage of ways to connect: 3.5mm, USB-C and wireless (Bluetooth) are all present. • The audio quality was great and the range was impressive. If you choose to connect directly via Bluetooth to the Mission 1 Pro, the mic leverages Super Wideband Speech for incredibly clear vocals and auto-connects almost instantly after the initial pairing when the camera is powered on. - Cons - • I don't think I can emphasize how incredibly small some of these components are. If you have larger hands, performing the button-press "gestures" (multi-presses or press-and-holds) can be a bit tricky. It sometimes makes it feel like there is a slight delay between your physical input and the transmitter responding. • It feels like a weird omission that I hope they fix with a future firmware upgrade, but the camera does not support dual audio connections over direct Bluetooth. If you want to use both transmitters simultaneously, you are forced to plug the USB-C receiver module into the camera, which isn't ideal. • At times, activating the built-in Dynamic Noise Reduction can make the audio sound a bit "tinny" or processed. The good news is you can easily leave it off and clean up background noise during editing with the right post-production tools. * Nice to Know* • The charging case provides plenty of juice, easily yielding 2 to 3 full recharges. In my limited testing I never felt like pressured to go seek out a charging outlet or had to use a portable battery pack, etc. • Connecting via Bluetooth vs. with the USB-C receiver you are trading off convenience (because the USB-C receiver sticks awkwardly out) for better audio quality, range and the ability to charge via pass thru.

I'm relatively new to this vlogging thing. I've tried the gimbal cameras from other makers, and it just never clicked with me. It would be fun at first but as I went I gradually went away from using it. That is mostly because my experience and expertise is in still photography, mainly landscapes, so managing audio and coordinating shots has been a steep learning curve and I've stumbled quite a bit around that curve! I wanted the GoPro Wireless Mic Kit to go with my new GoPro Mission One Pro: Grip Edition. I think this kit is going to be a MUCH better mesh with my style because using the Mission One Pro is more akin to using a small rangefinder/compact camera than the 'camera on a stick' mode. Walking the streets of medieval towns in Europe is going to be much more low-key with this set-up than ones I've tried in the past. Ok, with that said, the GoPro Wireless Mic kit is probably more than I’ll ever need and given the price of other kits out there, it’s a virtual steal! Given that my wife has also found an outstanding additional use for this kit makes it a no-brainer. I’m not doing interviews or anything like that so I’m not as worried that I can only use one microphone via a Bluetooth connection to the camera. If I ever need dual mics, that is easily rectified with the included TRS Receiver (which can be used with darn near any camera with a cold/hot shoe), though you will need a media kit for your camera to plug it in. That all being said, the sound quality from the GoPro wireless mic is SO MUCH nicer than the onboard mic. So much nicer that it actually makes me hate hearing my voice on a video clip a bit less than normal. That is an incredible accomplishment! The rest thing is that by having two microphones, I have ALL DAY coverage because I can swap them out from their case and after draining one, I can use it’s partner while the other one recharges. Oh, and that reminds me to say, that the microphones themselves and the entire kit is also so compact that it is super easy to transport! The mics are incredibly tiny and unobtrusive, which is something I value since I’m trying to be as unobtrusive as possible while filming. The tiny transmitter and its fuzzy wind guard just make it look like I have a tiny mouse in my shirt pocket! BTW, I don’t recommend letting your cat see these wind guards. I left one out on my desk and later found it licked to death by my cat on the other side of the house. The additional benefit that my wife found, is that instead of just sitting on the shelf when not traveling (which unfortunately is most of the time until she retires), she can use it at work for her AI transcription program! She’s a doctor and one of the few places I’ve actually seen AI do a decent job is with audio transcription. Her system has the program built in and normally she would just place her work phone in the examination room but now she can keep it next to her laptop while wearing the transmitter and using the USB-C receiver. Again, this is less obtrusive, AND has the added benefit of providing a better audio track to the AI system. I don’t think she it going to be using my system for very long, because I’m pretty sure she likes it enough to get her department to buy these for themselves! You’re welcome GoPro! No matter what your need is, I have a hard time imagining that the GoPro Wireless Mic Complete Kit won’t be able to meet that need. The fact that it does it at such a reasonable price, is just icing on the cake.

I’m actually kinda flabbergasted about the quality and utility of GoPro’s Wireless Mic Kit. From the inclusion of a carry case, lapel magnets, and the wind screens, and the size and functionality of the charging case and how everything kinda just “fits”. The thoughtful inclusion of a USB-C receiver in addition to a DSLR receiver to be able to port audio to a different device and the on-receiver gain controls… I’ve had other USB-C wireless mic kits before. This is the first one I actually was able to get up and running within seconds of unboxing. The whole setup charges via USB-C and is about the same size and format as the GoPro Mission 1 Pro itself and reasonably light. The longevity of the transmitter mics battery is solid, I was able to do several hours of recordings on a single charge. The manual says 6.5 hours, which is outstanding. I’m super pleased by the ability to just attach the mic wherever using magnets or the clip and they seem to stay in place very well. I do worry a smidge about losing the wind screens but that’s no biggie. One more bonus: in addition to the two different kinds of receivers, you can also just use Bluetooth to connect the mic directly to your phone. The range on these was more than enough for my purposes but apparently is around 150 meters… I had no connectivity problems whatsoever. The audio quality and on-board noise cancellation was solid enough that you won’t be stuck holding the bag on a ton of post-production cleanup. When paired with the Mission 1 the audio was crisp and clear - when used for stand-alone audio recording via my iPhone they performed very well. All in all: this is a really well-done mic kit and just easily replaced my previous wireless lav setup.

I picked up the GoPro Wireless Mic Complete Kit to round out my setup after getting more serious about capturing decent audio instead of just relying on whatever the camera picks up on its own. Between shuttling kids around and trying to grab clean interview style clips or quick narration on trips, built in mics just were not cutting it anymore. This kit looked like a simple way to fix that without turning into a whole production. Setup was refreshingly painless. I was worried I would need to sit down and read through instructions for twenty minutes before getting anything to work, but that was not the case at all. Pairing the transmitter and getting audio flowing took just a few minutes, and once it was set up I did not have to think about it much again. That matters a lot to me. I do not have the patience for gear that requires a manual every time you want to use it. It also travels well, which was a pleasant surprise. The whole kit is compact enough that it does not feel like extra bulk when you are already juggling a camera bag, snacks, and whatever else comes along for a family trip. The transmitters themselves are small and light, so clipping one on or tucking it out of sight is easy and does not feel awkward or obvious in the shot. Where this kit really shines is in interview style setups. If you are sitting down with someone, capturing a conversation, or doing any kind of narration where the person is relatively still, the audio comes through clear and noticeably better than what you get straight off the camera. It picks up voices well without a ton of background noise bleeding in, which has made a real difference in the quality of clips I have been able to put together. For that kind of use case, I have been genuinely impressed. That said, do not expect it to be your go to setup for action scenes. This is not really built for fast movement or anything with a lot of physical activity involved. If you are looking to mic up while biking, doing yard work, or anything more dynamic, this probably is not the right tool. It is clearly designed with calmer, more controlled shooting situations in mind, and once I recalibrated my expectations around that, I stopped trying to force it into situations it was not meant for. My one real complaint is more about convenience than performance. The kit does not fit as well as I would like inside the GoPro carrying case. I was hoping to keep everything together in one spot so I was not hunting around for pieces before a shoot, but the mic kit ends up needing its own little home instead. It is a small gripe in the grand scheme of things, but it is the kind of detail that adds a bit of friction to an otherwise smooth experience. Overall this has been a solid addition to my gear bag. It is easy to use, sets up fast, and genuinely improves audio quality for anything conversational or narration based. Just go in knowing it is built for calmer shooting situations rather than action, and maybe plan on finding your own storage solution since it will not tuck neatly into your existing GoPro case. For anyone doing interviews, vlogs, or travel narration, I would recommend it without much hesitation.

This is honestly the ultimate pairing for the aspiring vlogger or podcaster wanting to get a mobile and highly versatile microphone set they can use for a GoPro Mission 1 Camera or that they can use with their phone as well! What really sold me on this was the price relative to the performance and specific compatibility. When trying this with the GoPro Mission 1 Camera, I was impressed with how extremely clear the audio recordings were. This is likely because of not only the high-quality microphone itself, but also because of the specific Bluetooth Super Wideband connection the Mission 1 Camera utilizes. I set up a shot where I walked all around my truck explaining some of its overlanding features and accessories and never once did the audio quality drop. Furthermore, it was a rather windy day when I was filming and the windscreen did an excellent job of blocking out the wind noise while I was doing my walk around. Altogether, I have absolutely no problem recommending this microphone setup, and it is an easy 5/5 stars!

the GoPro Wireless mic kit was a great addition to the purchase of our mission Pro Go Pro. my daughter went to camp recently and took the Go-Pro and the mic set. she didn't use the mic for a lot of things, but did use it when she did the talent show. her friend was able to record with the camera and she wore the mic. the dynamic noise reduction was really great. you can hear her voice so clearly compared to another video a counselor sent me. she didn't have to charge it at all, it work the couple times she used it. we then used it with my phone to record a self tape for some acting auditions she was doing. it picked up her voice so clear, but allowed mine to fade into the back ground. it left the focus on her, which is what we needed. We are really excited to try the mic attached to the go pro for those times she cannot wear the mic. All and all we are really happy with the quality of the Go Pro Mic. We would recommend this to anyone who does auditions, vlogs, performs and needs better sound quality!

After spending time with the GoPro Wireless Mic, my overall impression is that it is a strong accessory, especially if you are already using GoPro cameras. It felt like it was designed with GoPro owners in mind, particularly video or YouTube creators who want cleaner audio without adding too many bulk, extra cables, or a complicated setup. The kit includes two transmitters, both TRS and USB-C receivers, magnets, windscreens, and a charging case, which made it feel flexible enough for GoPro cameras, USB-C phones, and other recording devices. I need to start by acknowledging that the first setup between camera and receivers was the one part that felt wrong. I tried to watch some videos on YouTube, but they were not good references because this is a new product without enough tutorials. After a few minutes, the GoPro detected the mic and connected without any issue. Once it worked, it was easy, but that first pairing experience was not the best. The hardware is where the system immediately makes a good impression. The carrying case is sturdy and made of hard plastic, with a built-in charger for the main pieces. The included carrying bag is also a perfect complement and feels right for travel. The transmitter size is perfect and one of the best wins of this design. They are impressively light and small at only 10 grams. They can be used with the clamp or with the included magnet. The inclusion of windscreens and the background noise reduction make these small devices a great companion for travel videos. I used them with the GoPro 1 Pro camera, which also includes a built-in mic. However, GoPro Wireless Mic is an additional investment that I would recommend if you have creator type of needs. The sound is closer and filtered in a way that improves clarity and reduces noise, especially when the outside environment is more difficult. The system supports 24-bit, 48 kHz audio through the receivers, and it also includes useful features like noise reduction and gain adjustment, which can add a nice final touch to your videography. As I mentioned, the GoPro Wireless Mic is strongly recommended if you are thinking of your new GoPro 1 as a videography tool more than just an action camera, and if you have ambitions of adding crisp sound to impressive images. The Complete Kit gives you both a TRS receiver and a USB-C receiver, so it is not limited to one device type. I understand that the different components also make this kit suitable for previous GoPro models or DSLR cameras. According to the specs, the battery provides up to 6.5 hours per transmitter and up to 20 hours total with the charging case. I normally charge my gear at the end of my shooting sessions, so I think this is fair. One element that seems contradictory in this device, and that will probably be solved soon by GoPro, is the Bluetooth connection because I was only able to use one transmitter at a time. The GoPro Wireless Mic is a very good accessory for creators who want better audio while keeping their setup small and easy to carry. I especially like the charging case, the tiny transmitters, and the magnetic mounting system. It feels thoughtfully designed and much less intrusive than my other wireless mic set. My recommendation is clear: if you shoot mainly with GoPro cameras and want cleaner voice audio without building a complicated audio setup, this is a strong option. Be patient with the first-time connection. As a companion for the GoPro 1 Pro camera, it is a smart, compact, and useful companion.

For the last week, I've been testing the new GoPro Wireless Microphone complete kit. Overall, it really is a complete kit that works great with my GoPro Mission 1, phone, and my other full-sensor cameras. Inside the box is everything needed to record audio on any platform. There is a rechargeable battery case, a soft carry case, a USB-C cable, two wireless/Bluetooth microphones, two fluffy windscreens, a USB-C receiver (for phones), and a TRS receiver and cable (for other cameras). I'll start by saying that for me, there was a bit of a learning curve to using this kit. The user manual did an acceptable job of explaining what all the accessories are and how to switch between modes, but in actual practice, I found myself unsure if I was pairing it correctly. Ultimately, I figured it all out. Using Bluetooth mode, I connected the kit to my GoPro Mission 1. After putting the microphone into pairing mode, I used the GoPro's on-screen menu to connect, and it paired instantly and flawlessly. However, I did discover that my Mission 1 only connected to one Bluetooth mic at a time. During playback, the audio clarity was excellent, and the signal remained strong even past 30 feet. Next, I used the TRS receiver and cable to connect to my full-size camera. I switched the microphones over to Wi-Fi mode, and they immediately synced with the receiver. Once again, performance was excellent, maintaining a solid connection from more than 30 feet away. I also really liked how snugly the TRS receiver slid into my camera's hot shoe. Finally, I used the USB-C receiver to connect the microphones to my Android phone. After setting the system to Wi-Fi mode, it connected instantly. The sound quality was great here as well, though I did have to turn the gain all the way up to max. With that said, the complete kit is exactly what it claims to be: a complete kit. It worked great with all my devices, and I definitely recommend it.

Getting clean audio outdoors is always a battle, so I picked up this GoPro Wireless Mic Complete Kit to pair with my setup. The first thing that jumps out is the size. The transmitters are absurdly small, weighing only ten grams. You can clip them to a collar or use the included mounting magnets to stick them directly to your shirt. It holds perfectly without sagging even when moving around. The audio quality through the receiver is surprisingly clean and full. When you pair them directly with the Mission 1 camera over Bluetooth, it uses their Super Wideband Speech protocol, which makes your voice sound very natural instead of thin or compressed. The hard plastic charging case itself is quite sturdy, gives you up to twenty hours of total runtime, and actually slides just fine into the main Mission 1 camera bag. My main annoyance is with the fabric accessory bag that holds the mic case and all the extra components like charging cords, wind muffs, and clips. The Mission 1 camera bag has a decent amount of open room for extras, but if you put the mic case and its parts into their dedicated accessory bag to keep everything from floating around and getting lost, that whole bundle does not sit nicely. Putting that packed accessory bag inside the main camera bag makes the entire setup bulge out awkwardly. It would be a lot better if the ecosystem allowed you to keep the mic accessories organized together in their bag and still cleanly pack it away in the main camera kit without stretching the zipper. Beyond that storage quirk, there are a few technical trade offs you should know about. Unlike some of the high end audio competitors on the market, these transmitters do not support internal backup recording. If your wireless signal drops out for any reason, you do not have an on board safety track saved to a memory card on the mic itself. You do get a low gain safety channel option that records a secondary track at negative six decibels to prevent clipping from sudden loud noises, which helps, but it is not a true backup. Additionally, there is no external lavalier jack on the transmitter, so you are forced to use the built in capsule rather than plugging in a hidden lapel mic. For a simple vlogging or sports setup, it is a brilliant and incredibly lightweight kit that solves a lot of audio headaches, but serious filmmakers might miss those missing pro features.

The transmitter mics are super small, which is great for vloggers or amateur reporters who want to wear their mics in an inconspicuous, discrete manner. They can clip to just about anywhere on your person without readily being noticed if you use them without a windscreen. Due to good noise reduction, the transmitters hold up well against wind, specifically at less than 50 yards from your camera. Sound quality sounds natural and clear for the most part. The magnetized clips for the transmitter are strong, so the transmitter will be secure to whatever you clip it on. You can also wear the transmitter by using only the built-in clip on the back of it instead; the magnets are optional. I don’t like the fact that you can’t connect two transmitters at once through the Bluetooth connection to the Mission 1 pro camera. Instead, you can use the camera’s internal mic in conjunction with one transmitter to record audio. If you use one of the included receivers in the kit, you can connect and record on both transmitters, with less customization on the USB receiver compared to the bigger receiver. You can do stereo (left and right) recording on the bigger receiver and flat, simple recording on the USB receiver. As far as the signal strength of the Bluetooth connection using just the camera is concerned, it’s phenomenal; just make sure you’re only talking when you are facing the Mission 1 pro. You will hear A LOT of feedback, choppiness, and cutting in and out if you try to talk as you walk away from the camera. It’s weird, but the minute you turn away or turn to the side, you almost lose connection; however, the connection doesn’t drop completely and returns to full strength immediately. The Bluetooth connection stretches to about 100 yards at its farthest, but the quality sounds its strongest at about 50 yards or less. According to GoPro, the transmitters will capture clear audio at distances as far as 492 feet, which I think equates to 164 yards. I personally wouldn’t push it beyond 75 yards, but that is my opinion. The type of environment you are recording in, the audio level setting you select, and how you choose to pair the device to your camera will affect Bluetooth signal strength (which determines the sound quality), so results will vary. This is a minor pro that has nothing to do with the audio quality, but I love that the mic kit comes inside a small traveling case/storage pouch. The rectangular charging case that houses the transmitters and receivers is also secure and feels sturdy enough to me to sustain an accidental drop. These mics are delicate, so anything that makes traveling with them easier/safer, I appreciate. It is important to note that this specific wireless mic kit was intended to be paired with the GoPro Hero Black Cameras and the latest Mission 1 Series, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of purchasing this. While these aren’t the most powerful wireless mics on the market, when paired with the right conditions they get the job done and provide a solid, reliable performance.
