The sound coming out of this device is fantastic. Nice bass as well as treble. Pairing the device is easy to do. Nice quality feel to it. Batteries last a long time. And did I mention that the sound is great?!?!?

This is really one of the best Wireless speakers I have used. Its sound quality is great. This is of light weight and easy to carry. We enjoy all kinds of music, connect phone to play songs and talk to others.

Easily one of the best small Bluetooth speakers out there. Sound is very clean and doesn't sound stressed or distorted like most small speakers. Set this next to a wall to get a bit more bass. Dual Sound is a nice feature and connects to my Onyx Studio 3 nicely. Can have three devices connected to it. Like the Studio, it may not have as much utility as some other speakers out there, but sound quality for money is hard to beat, provided you don't pay the bloated retail price.

Bought this item after reading review. it has good enough sound production from a small speaker such as this. Loud enough to fill a medium size room. Really like the small size, rechargable battery ... really help when travelling as it use the common micro usb. Unfortunately it will not function as speakerphone when connected to PC - tested this with Windows 10 on two laptops. Onyx mini will register as bluetooth speakers and play sound that way. But PC will not catch any voice when it is configured as microphone. So beware for those that thinking to use this as speakerphone for PC (ie for Skype, Google hangouts, etc) ... it will NOT work this way. Emailed HK for support on this, will update if we get an update.

I love this speaker. It’s light enough to travel and the sound is great. It connects easily to my other Bluetooth enabled devices. Should’ve bought two!

I have used a couple of bluetooth speakers, from Jawbone Mini to Onyx Studio gen 1 to soundbars by Yamaha, Sony and LG and the Sonos Play 1. The Onyx Mini is now my favorite, such small footprint, high quality made, and the sound is true HK, comparable to its bigger brother, the Onyx Studio. I highly recommend it to everyone who love HK sound but hesitated due to the portability of the Onyx Studio.

I am an audio fanatic. I did a lot of research on which Mini wireless speaker to buy. I listened to all the samples at the store and I thought this speaker sounded very similar to the Bose Soundlink ($130). I also thought the Sony XB20 sounded similar but the Sony had more bass. The Onyx is a well balanced sound, great mid's and high's and low's are decent, good for its size though. I bought the Onyx Mini when it was only $50 on a deal of the day and i couldn't be happier. My regret is i didn't buy a second pair so i could pair the speakers. The charge holds for a long time and the sound quality sounds great. To improve the sound quality of the speaker don't forget to adjust your audio device Equalizer, it will make a world of difference. I would totally purchase this product under $100. I feel like this speaker is designed more for indoor or well protected outdoor use. The one complaint that i have, which very minimal is carrying the speaker because of the rear driver. I feel like you have to grip it weird without pushing on the driver. Other then that it is great. would recommend.

This HK Onyx mini exceeded all my expectations. It is perfect size- not too small or big like Onyx Studio 2/3, but this bluetooth speaker puts out big music sound. In keeping with Harman Kardon sound this bluetooth speaker is very clean and crisp in the sound it emits and can get quite loud in relation to its size. The bass is tight and not boomy with the nice separation of the lows where bass guitar notes are clear as well as the bass drum in music. The bass is definitely there and can be felt, but not overpowering and boomy like my JBL Charge 2+( which I like quite a bit as well). I would say the frequency response is more on the flat side and not boosted on the lows or highs, just a clean crisp all around great small speaker. The shape kind of makes it a little hard for traveling purposes, but my intentions were for an all around house and yard speaker and for that this thing more than fits the bill. It's small enough to grab and go, I have no problems palming this speaker, but it may not pack so well with the round shape. All in all a great speaker at a great price(50$ on Sale unbeatable).

I really like the sound of this speaker, 1)Has a really good mic for cell calls 2)Connects blue tooth quickly 3)Has a great base level 4)It also has a high end volume Cons= 1)It has no case to carry 2)It is a bit bulky 3)I don't think the battery is as long as they state (but not a deal breaker) 4)If it flips over in my brief case it is extremely easy for the power button to be pushed and the speaker will come on unwanted. Yes I would buy it again but only at the sale price I gave.

I bought this and hooked it up with one of my amazon echo dots. This thing sounds purely amazing. Such amazing sound our of such a small and beautiful device. This thing will fill up any room. I have it stationed near my home theater and friends and family whom come over and hear music coming from this believe that it is coming from my stereo. Nice highs, mids, and bass. The bass could be better, but i'm not complaining.

The brand doesn't let you dissapointed. It is beautifully designed and crafted. Bass sounds deep and strong. Easy to handle and easy to connect. Baterry last 10 hours and charges in 3 hours. You can take it everywhere. I loved so much that I bought another one. Highly recommended.

The sound quality on the speaker is the best that I have heard so far. Great low to mid range audio. When speaker is at max, the sound does not get distorted. Sound is clear and crisp. Sound frequencies do not overpower eachother. Speaker is portable enough to put it in your backpack but the rear of the woofer is exposed and there is some worry about damaging the speaker. You should be fine though because the cone is made of durable parts. My only gripe about this speaker is the lack of some sort of pouch to carry the speaker in. Purchased the speaker while it was on sale, would have purchased at full price earlier if I have had a display present. I have already recommended this product to friends and family and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking at getting a portable speaker with great battery life.

Battery last well. Has good sound. Bluetooth has good range.

I purchased two of these since they sinc for stereo sound. Outside of a couple manufactures these small wireless speakers never sound like you want them to. Harmon/Kardon did not disappoint. The sound quality is excellent and battery life is as stated. Great speakers for the patio or room to room. Would definitely recommend this product.

This little speaker will surprise you! Lots of benefits. It has big, deep sound and clarity, and excellent speakerphone capability with noise & echo canceling technology. It's also very portable around the home with about 10 hours of battery life. Harmon Kardon literally has the advantage on the market for portability, sound, and speakerphone quality on its blue tooth speakers (3 total so far). I tested 3 different brands, including Sony, JBL, and Cambridge, which paled in comparison on the speakerphone quality. That was an instant deal breaker for me. I needed a good bedside speaker that duels as a quality speakerphone - the Onyx Mini surprised the heck out of me. I temporarily owned the Onyx 3 (the bigger brother) and returned it due to how large it was on my bedside table, its lack of portability, and limited battery life (although the quality was incredible). The pros out-weigh the cons for this speaker. Comparing the Onyx 3, the Mini stands up impressively well with only 2 small limitations (to be expected on this type of comparison): for those who like very high volume and crisper highs (treble), go with Onyx 3. The Onyx Mini will lose clarity and quality when volume is too high, but don't get me wrong - this little guy gets comfortably loud and still sounds amazing, especially for its size. It suits my needs well.

I did research into a Bluetooth speaker. Criteria: Portable, Good Battery life, Good Sound Quality in low and high range. Looked into a few, heard a few. Sony X-55 sounded hollow and artificial. Bose soundlink mini was ok but was not great. Marshals was excellent at higher volumes was a wash at lower volumes. UE Boom etc, did not like the sound. Read about HK Onyx and went to listen in at BB. This sounded the best at low and high volume levels. Was portable enough and with a 10H battery life was a plus. My son has been using for last 1 month and simply loves it. The sound coming from his room is pretty rich and I go in and listen to some times. Looking for Onyx Studio 3 for myself now. That sounded fantastic at BB. That one for myself, in next couple of months.

This small speaker has a great, large sound with deep bass and good range of tone. Pairs easily. It feels well made, but with the active flexible bass port, it remains to be seen how durable this is in the long run. At full price, this speaker is in the price/performance range of Bose and the other top-shelf retail speakers and holds its own. Unfortunately, those other brands rarely go on sale for very much. This one can be found on sale occasionally; I was able to buy this at less than half price, an amazing value. At full price the performance is good, but you may want to compare to Bose for some of its portability trade offs. It's better as a speaker to fit in a small space than for high portability, like packing in a carry on.

I have to agree; this HK speaker gets high marks on all categories. It's small but has relatively good highs and lows. The music fills our room though is barley noticeable on the shelf. It paired immediately and had enough power on its initial charge to last several hours right out of the box. The same price (less than $43) was simply too irresistible...so I bought two. We have them paired with echos in separate rooms. Great speakers, esp for the price paid.
