    Great Value For The Price

We wanted a TV for a smaller room. This TV had some key features for the price. One of which, Best Buy has incorrectly on their website. The Hisense website lists this as having full-array backlighting. That was one. I also wanted Dolby Vision/HDR10+/etc. I sacrificed one wish. I wanted native 120hz. I realized that we would likely watch fast action on our high-end TV. I am pleasantly surprised that this TV handles high action scenes pretty smoothly. I have played my old XBoxOneX on this TV, and it looks great! I am pleasantly surprised. The Best Buy (Chapel Hill - Cuyahoga Falls, OH) sales person informed me that this TV has a variable refresh rate, so it would actually lower its rate if a particular game was not keeping up with 60Hz. While this is not listed as a spec on Hisense's website, Google AI seems to support this. My experience is that I had tear-free play on my older XBox console, so they are doing something right. FireTV has never been my first choice, but this works well. I have it paired with a Yamaha Receiver, and most apps play well as DD+ (It's not an Atmos receiver). If you use the Plex app, however, there is a common issue with Firestick/FireTV and Plex. The pass-through functionality doesn't work properly. That mean that my 7.1 and uncompressed audio does not pass through, even though it is set to do so. In contrast, this works fine on our Samsung TV. This may not be a problem if you're just using the TV speakers or a soundbar. Fortunately, I can use Plex with the XboxOneX, and this allows TrueHD, DTS-X, and other formats to be passed through to the receiver. ....and that's only one app. In summary, This TV appears to be a good value for the features, and Hisense lists this as having full-array backlighting, in contrast to BestBuy.com. https://www.hisense-usa.com/product-page/televisions-hisense-50-qd6-series-qled-hisense-fire-tv-50qd65nf-hisense

Dramatic Upgrade: Hisense’s Latest 4K TV Delivers

I recently purchased the latest 4K model from Hisense and ran a side-by-side comparison with my older Hisense TV, playing the same BBC documentary on both. The difference was immediately noticeable and quite dramatic. The new model showcases exceptional image clarity, vibrant and accurate colors, and a significantly improved dynamic range. Fine details—like the texture of snow and the feathers of each penguin—are rendered with remarkable sharpness and depth. In contrast, the older model appears noticeably dimmer, with muted colors and loss of detail, especially in darker or brighter areas. The upgraded panel not only supports true 4K resolution but also delivers smoother motion handling and faster response times, making the viewing experience far more immersive. Whether for documentaries, movies, or everyday use, this new Hisense TV offers a premium visual experience that far exceeds its predecessor. Highly recommended for anyone considering an upgrade—this model sets a new standard for value and performance in its class.

I bought this TV on a Black Friday sale for my bedroom. The 50’ size is perfect for my environment. The quality of the picture with the QLED screen is vibrant and looks excellent. The TV sound quality is loud and crisp. There are plenty of cool features to play with such as AI upscaling. I like fire tv, I am used to that system and find it easy to navigate. The only negative aspect of my experience with this TV was that I bought an Open Box item, and it was missing the remote, which it should have come with. Hisense mailed me a remote though, and now I’m enjoying it.

The picture is delicate and clear, the colors are real and natural, watching movies and watching TV shows is simply a kind of enjoyment. The sound effects are also great, it feels like a cinema without the need for additional speakers. The system is smooth, there are no ads when starting up, and the operation is simple and easy to get started.

We use this TV as our bedroom TV and couldn’t be happier. We’re not big Fire TV fans but have an Apple TV box through our cable provider so we dont use the smart function. The picture with Dolby is great and the sound is surprisingly high quality for TV speakers. No issues during a bright day and not too bright to watch before bed. Highly recommend.

The Hisense 50 QD6 QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV, Model #50QD6QF, is an entry-level TV, but as advanced as technology is, it still has many upgrades and features. I am impressed with the sharpness of the video picture. It is equipped with a direct-lit QLED Panel that is aided on this model by “Active HDR.” Active HDR dynamically adjusts to enhance viewing and improve video performance, and creates a noticeably clear, dynamic picture that is obvious on this TV screen. This Hisense model is a Smart Fire TV built around Amazon and Alexa. The remote looks much like a Fire TV remote and can be voice-activated through Alexa to command viewing options as desired. This model also features streaming services from Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Max, YouTube, Apple TV, Peacock, and Paramount+. Various other apps are also available to download and install. It is equipped with an ATSC tuner to receive over-the-air digital television broadcasts. The 50” Hisense Smart Fire TV is a light and thin television, weighing only 19.4 /19.2 lbs. with and without the stand. The stand makes the total depth of the TV 9.7 inches, but without the stand, it is a very thin 3.1-inch TV display. At 44 inches wide and 25.6 inches tall (add 1.4” for the stand), these specifications make it easy and light to mount vertically on the wall if that is a better viewing possibility for visibility or to save floorspace. The television case is manufactured to work with all VESA wall mounts. The TV has ample connections with 3 HDMI 2.0 input connections, Dolby-Vision, HDR 10+, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). It is designed and set up to work with English, Spanish, and French. Being a Fire TV, it is automatically connected to Amazon, and as mentioned, it is voice-controlled through Amazon Alexa. It also works well with Apple AirPlay. In addition to the 3 HDMI connections, it has a composite video connection and two USB-A port connections. Equipped with eARC as the HDMI Audio Return Channel, the TV provides the upgrade needed for improved bandwidth for Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual X Surround Sound, and easy connectivity to sound bars. The Speaker output of the TV is 16 watts, and it has 2 Audio Channels. I definitely recommend this TV for the size, price, and visual quality it appears to have.

I selected this TV for my son for his bedroom as his older 720p plasma was just big for a 42-in in the picture quality head well degraded over the years. What is 50 in fire TV works perfect for his bedroom with a much improved picture over his old TV which was 20 years old. He likes to watch movies on Amazon prime as well as play a lot of PlayStation sports games on it with his PS5 which look pretty good on the TVs 2.0 HDMI inputs. I like that the TV only weighs 30 lb versus his old 42 inch plasma which was nearly 80 lb. The picture is surprisingly good for an entry level 4K TV I'm not a huge fan of Amazon fire TV and neither is he as we all use Roku for streaming on each TV in the house. To me the fire TV seems to lag with its lower processing power, especially compared to a newer Roku model Wi-Fi or wired. Brightness levels of the TV are really well daytime or night, I've yet to put a 4K UHD disc in my son's PS5 to check out how good or not it looks I still really need to do that. While playing games on his PS5 or streaming 4K movies on Amazon prime look really good for a lower-end 4K TV. The remote is very cheap and basic like most lower and TVs seem to be nowadays, the remote feels like one decent drop and it would explode into 10 pieces. If you're on a budget and looking at this TV I definitely will recommend giving the Hisense qd6 a try.

    Affordable QLED with Premium Touches

The Hisense 50" QD6 Series QLED 4K Fire TV is an entry-level television that punches above its weight when it comes to visual quality and smart features. For the price, it delivers a sharp picture and a well-rounded feature set that makes it a solid choice for everyday use. Design-wise, the QD6 is lightweight and slim. At just 3.1 inches thick without the stand and weighing under 20 lbs, it’s easy to mount or move around. It supports VESA 200x400 mounting, and won’t overwhelm a wall or media stand. This TV runs on Amazon’s Fire OS platform, so if you've had experience with Fire TV sticks or set-top boxes before, everything will feel very familiar. The included remote is basically the same Fire TV remote, with built-in voice control via Alexa plus some additional partner buttons. Navigation is responsive, and all major streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Max, YouTube, etc.) are either preloaded or easily installed. One of the first thing I noticed was the picture quality. This TV uses a direct-lit QLED panel that produces bright and clean images. Hisense’s “Active HDR” dynamically adjusts contrast and brightness in real time, resulting in a vivid and consistent image, especially when watching HDR content from streaming apps. There are also some nice AI-driven features included. The AI 4K Upscaler uses machine learning to sharpen edges, improve textures, and clean up older or lower-res content. AI Smooth Motion, powered by MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation), reduces blur and keeps movement crisp during fast-paced content like sports. It manages to do this without the distracting soap-opera effect that some motion smoothing tends to introduce. Game Mode Plus is another highlight if you are a gamer. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) help cut down on lag and screen tearing, giving gameplay a smoother feel. Connectivity is better than expected for a TV in this class. It has three HDMI 2.0 ports (4K @ 60 Hz), two USB-A ports, an ATSC tuner for an antenna, and even a composite input for legacy devices. Having two USB ports (when one is more typical at this price) is handy. This is especially nice for powering streaming sticks directly from the TV rather than needing an external power source. One HDMI port supports eARC, making it easy to connect a soundbar and unlock higher-end audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. The 16W stereo speakers are serviceable for casual viewing, but anyone watching a lot of movies or music videos or people who have this TV in a larger space may want to add external speakers. One small annoyance with the I/O layout: the composite video ports are rear-facing instead of side-facing, which can make wall mounting a bit tricky if you're trying to get the TV really close to the wall, but it’s a minor gripe considering how rarely those inputs are used these days. Overall, the Hisense 50" QD6 Fire TV offers a lot for the price. The strong visual performance, smart Fire OS integration, upscaling tech, and gaming features make it feel more premium than the price tag suggests. Whether it's your main screen or a secondary setup for a bedroom or office, it’s a great value for anyone looking for a capable 4K QLED experience without breaking the bank.
