This is such an amazing TV for the price. The black levels are comparable to OLED TVs of the past. The brightness is insane which can reach up to 5000 NITS. Also, the sound is amazing. That’s why it’s so thick. Some people say this a budget TV but I feel like this is a bargain for the price you pay. I pay more for the other big brands when you can get the same performance for half the price.

This was an awesome choice. The quality on the screen is great, the brightness is high , colors look vivid and the sharpness is really good. I game mostly on it from my pc and the FPS does not disappoint. The best part is that the TV performs at a high level. Out of the box the options were good . I YouTubed the best settings and I think it is the Best Buy I have made in a long time .

Super bright, deep blacks and amazing colors hdr never looked this good on my last TV. Highly recommend u8q. Do some research on you tube. Great buy for the price

The picture quality is excellent. I don't see a huge difference between this unit and more expensive, "higher-end" brands. Watching sports events is also great; the refresh rate and the contrast level top-notch. Using the Google TV interface didn't take a long time to learn and fully use. Being a Roku TV user, I find the two platforms equal in capabilities. The Google TV platform may edge out due to its ability to integrate with other technologies. I have it setup on a mobile TV cart so I can use it in multiple areas. The only issue I have is I wished I purchased the larger size of this model for an even more immersive experience. Two thumbs up for this purchase.

The Hisense 65U8QG I have purchased is overall a very good QLED. If you're watching something in 1080p or 4k with HDR or Dolby Vision, the picture looks fantastic. But if you are a football or hockey fan, unless you're watching NESN 4k Bruins games, you maybe disappointed as blur in fast action is very pronounced no matter what adjustments are made. Baseball and soccer look great. lot of that is dependent on the broadcasters signal. OTA NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) channels in my area of Richmond, VA look great. The sound is excellent for modern TV's because of the multiple speaker system. My main disappointments besides the motion blur is the PVR keeps rejecting my USB sticks as corrupted no matter what brand or whether they were previously used or not. Also, the multi-view feature unlike all other TV's I've owned only allows a secondary signal from a phone or tablet, unbelievably, not from a HDMI attached device or it's own Google TV, which by the way is great otherwise, or combined with an OTA station. Seems like a major waste of a feature

TV has good color and very good brightness. I purchased this model as a trade off between price and the need for a TV that could handle TONS of glare in a very bright room. While it doesn't have a matte screen like the Samsung S95F OLED, which would have been a better choice for the VERY bright living room location, the Hisense U8's brightness has been enough to overcome the extreme glare produced by the wall of windows that are directly across from the TV's wall mounted location (the glare is still there, but it's just much less of an issue with Hisense's brightness). So far, about two weeks in, the Hisense's price point for the quality made the most sense, especially since the home will be rented out part of the year.

This is a tough review to write, because as a 165 HZ 16:9 computer Monitor, I love this TV, However This TV fails as an actual TV because of some fundamental TV features that are missing. I will start with the cons before moving on to the pros. Cons I have the Hisense U8QG 65" and I have found that game mode does not let me choose an aspect ratio for 480P (720x480 pixels) Wii content. I have a Wii component cable and a component to HDMI converter I use to play on the TV. The converter only sends 480P content out to the TV, no upscaling. The TV detects that the signal is 4:3 and displays 4:3 without the ability to choose. If you set the Wii to widescreen then the Wii outputs an anamorphic widescreen picture, which requires your TV to stretch it to 16:9. Aspect ratio options on this TV are completely grayed out with the picture setting set to game mode still forcing a 4:3 image when it should be 16:9. The options do appear under movie and filmmaker modes, but it has way too much input lag compared to game mode so I need that option on game mode. I have tested this same thing with a 4k signal from my Nintendo Switch 2. The TV still won’t let me choose an aspect ratio on game mode but it will on film mode. Resolution does not mater, game mode is the problem. Another problem with this TV is that it breaks federal law. FCC rules mandate that TVs 13 inches or larger manufactured after July 1, 1993, must have built-in analog closed caption decoding, which operates over composite (yellow RCA) cables for DVD players. The TV must be set to the composite input, and the CC function must be enabled in the TV's menu to display the line 21 signal. This TV features a composite 3.5mm jack that you can plug a DVD player into. I have my DVD player set to the exact same settings and I play the exact same movie on both this TV and another TV I have in the house, closed captioning plays on the other TV, but not this TV. I have closed captions turned on this TV and nothing comes out over composite. I have a deaf relative so this is a problem for me. Another problem with the composite input on this TV is it doesn’t have a game mode. So if you plug a N64 into this TV you are going to have input lag. Another problem with this TV is a lack of features if you want to use this TVs ultra-wide monitor settings. I have a 3060ti and NVIDIA G-SYNC runs beautifully at 16:9 on this TV. However you can’t use G-SYNC in any of the ultra wide modes (21:9 or 32:9). ycbcr420 is forced at 165HZ on an ultra-wide resolution. It can recive RGB color when using 144hz on ultra wide resolutions, just not 165HZ. RGB works at 165HZ on 16:9 mode. This TV unfortunately does not support HGIG. Another con to this TV is it has bad gray uniformity. Pros 4:3 Wii games gets upscaled well. Black levels are awesome, brightness is good. Input lag is very good on game mode for both your 60HZ Switch gaming and your 165HZ G-SYNC gaming. This TV will give you a competitive edge in gaming. I tested for audio delay/ lipsync issues in both film mode and game mode and I am happy to report that there is no noticeable delay for both modes. Bonus information: My TV is up to date with the latest firmware and I have tried factory resetting this TV multiple times. Problems were not fixed.

got this 4K Tv on sale. It's my first HiSense TV. This tv is incredible, the brightest colors and true black. The color spectrum is amazing. It comes with some serious sounds from the internal speakers. I use a Vizio Dolby Atmos Soundbar with 2 rear speakers and subwoofer and love it! I highly recommend this tv to anyone that wants a true 4K Tv that delivers each and every time you turn it on. On the Home Screen, if nothing is accessed it goes into screen saver mode and within 10min or so the tv will shut off so it doesn't ruin the screen. This tv is great fpr watching tv shows and movies along with gaming. Whether it's PC, XBOX, Playstation, Switch, or any other gaming consoles...this tv delivers.

So far, I’m really impressed with this TV. The picture quality is excellent colors are vibrant, the image is sharp, and everything looks clean and well-balanced. The sound is surprisingly good for built-in speakers, with clear audio and solid volume. Gaming on this TV has been great as well. It runs smooth, looks crisp, and feels very responsive, which makes a big difference. Setup was quick and easy, and the overall design looks modern and fits nicely in my space. Overall, I’m very happy with it. Great quality all around and definitely worth it.

I did a lot of research on tvs. We have a living room with lots of windows. The tv is awesome out of the box I felt like I need no changes. Add a little calibration and it is mind blowing for the price. In person the S90f and the U8 are the only tvs that will have company asking what is that! U8 for the win.

I love this TV! Incredible picture and brightness and for the price point it’s unbeatable. Looks like a high end tv for the cost of a mid tier one. Almost OLED quality picture.

TV is by FAR the best Ive owned up to date. Display is phenomenal from gameplay to cinema. Interface is smooth and connects to majority apps! Recommend for a mancave/bedroom lol

The Hisense 65in U8 is a TV that packs a punch with all the features it has to offer and I will give you a nice breakdown of everything I love about this TV and what it has to offer. From the moment I unboxed it, the U8 has that premium look. The frame is sleek and minimal, though relatively thick at 1.8in compared to other TVs on the market. The stand is very solid with some weight to it and gives off a polished and modern vibe, and it doesn’t take up too much surface area which is nice if you have a narrow stand. The first thing that blew me away was the Mini-LED Screen. This Mini-LED panel has 5,000 nits of brightness and comes with Dolby Vision, which allows for some serious bright vibrant colors and I was genuinely shocked at just how good the blacks were and the overall contrast is stunning. This TV is perfect for rooms with a lot of natural light coming in and has a special coating to help fight against glare ( though you will still have some glare in really dark scenes in movies or shows). I’ve owned several OLEDs and thought nothing could come close in terms of blacks, but the U8 proved me wrong and Mini-LEDs are getting really close. I didn't notice any significant amount of backlight bleed in the corners that can happen with LED TVs but since this is my first Mini-LED TV, I feel like that helps the issue since there's more local dimming zones in the TV. Another standout feature that honestly shocked me was the quality of the speakers in that they are some of the loudest and best sounding built-in speakers I've heard on a TV. I never had to go above 20% on the volume control because anything over 20% was too loud, so kept it at around 17%. The U8 comes packed with a 4.1.2 Multi-Channel surround sound with Dolby Atmos for those truly immersive movies. On top of that it has a built-in Subwoofer on the back of the TV that adds some extra Bass (you have to dig into the advance audio settings to turn it on). That being said I had the sub turned on when I was using the TV in my bedroom on the stand and it sounded great. But when I got around to Wall mounting the TV and watching a bass heavy action movie, the sub started to shake and rattle a little too much for my liking. So, if you plan on using the built in sub I would only turn it on if you plan on using the U8 with the stand and turned off if wall mounting. One of the biggest selling points for myself with the U8 is the Game Mode and the ability to get 165Hz refresh rate. I hooked up both my PS5 Pro and my 4070 laptop to the TV and both were great for gaming. The Game Mode UI is very slick and gives all the information you want when gaming, and it supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which allows you to get that buttery smooth, tear free gaming, high FPS and low Input lag. One feature I didn’t expect to care about, but now love that Hisense went and added, is the new USB-C/DP port. I’ve been able to connect my laptop directly via USB-C, and it works flawlessly for both video and power. It’s an awesome option for anyone who wants to use the TV as a giant second monitor or even run presentations or content from their laptop without needing an HDMI adapter. I really hope more TV brands going forward start to add this to their TV’s. The rest of the ports on the TV are 3x HDMI 2.1 ports at 165Hz with 1x being eARC, 2x USB-A, Ethernet, Digital Audio Out, Headphone jack and AV Input. This TV is ready for any setup thrown at it, whether it's gaming consoles, PCs, streaming boxes, sound systems, you name it. That being said, with the recent announcement of the new Switch 2 being able to output 4K 120Hz, I kind wish there was a 4th HDMI port for those who might have all three consoles and a sound bar, so you might have to make a sacrifice or play musical chairs with the ports. The U8’s operating system is powered by Google TV and it's by far my favorite UI of all the TV’s on the market. It's easy to navigate, customizable, and snappy. There’s almost no lag between switching and launching apps, and the very layout is intuitive. It does come with the ability to pair it with smart home assistants in Google Assistant, Alexa, and Apple Home. I love this ability so I can control the TV with my voice when I want to turn the TV on or off when I’m not near the remote. Speaking of remotes, Hisense have gone and made my favorite remote to date with its stylish silver brushed aluminum and backlit buttons which is great for when it's dark and want to see what button you are pressing. And if you ever lose your remote just open the Hisense app and you can ping the remote. Overall, the Hisense U8 65in is a serious TV that punches well above its competition. Whether you’re a gamer, a Movie buff, or just someone who wants a smart TV, it's one of the most well rounded TV’s I’ve tested in recent years and you can't go wrong with this TV.

The Hisense U8 TV is somewhat of a hidden gem amongst modern TVs. While it doesn't feature OLED technology like some of the higher-end TVs do, it does feature Mini-LED tech that is absolutely superb. It's very bright, has local dimming, plenty of features for gaming, and surprisingly good sound for a TV. * Setup Unboxing and setting up the TV was very simple. Especially if you're familiar with Google TV already. If you have an android phone, you can simply scan the QR code, select the apps that you use, and the TV does the rest. It's very simple to get going. Physically setting up the TV is equally easy. If you're using the included stand, you prop the TV up on the styrofoam that's inside the box, and attach a couple of screws. An extra bonus, the stand is adjustable to two different heights, which isn't something that's always an option. * Features This is where the U8 really shines. One of the headline features is the very fast refresh rate options. The panel can go up to 165Hz, which is outstanding. Especially if you're doing any gaming on the TV. It also includes VRR, so you don't have to worry about when you drop a few frames on your game. It also includes ALLM to help increase response times, and it has an AI setting that will adjust picture settings based on detected content, which actually worked pretty well in my experience. If you have a Google Home setup, the TV can be a great addition to that as well. Working very well with the Google Home ecosystem. * Picture Quality Everything I tried on the TV looked superb. From movies, TV shows, Streaming, Gaming with multiple titles, everything looked excellent. The bright picture is an absolute standout of this TV. It also supports all the HDR formats as well. Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, all work on this TV. Another feather in the cap of this, since some manufacturers don't support all of them. I was also impressed by the viewing angles, and how the TV did not reflect much either. Having something on while doing other things, moving around and viewing from different angles wasn't a problem at all. * Sound Finally, the sound quality was really impressive on the TV. Typically, I am not overly fond of built-in speakers on TVs, since they tend to fall short on quality. These actually sound great. The way they mimic surround sound, much like a soundbar is pretty impressive. The bass also stood out to me. It was evident that Hisense had taken some time to ensure that audio quality was as good as the picture. If you're in the market for a new TV, this is an excellent value in this size range. It has all the modern features that you would ask for, and not breaking the bank on its price. Pros: Great value, excellent picture quality and features, great sound, excellent for gaming Cons: I kind of wish it had more HDMI inputs
