||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is good for the summer.I wanted to get a nice cool ac for the summer and when I got this one there are different options to choose from if you want it so cold or just windy or the ac moves to so it will be great.The fan part also moves so the air can move all around if I wanted the room to be cold.There’s also a remote which is good so if I’m in my room and the ac is far i can use it which is great.

All you have to do is put water in it. I just returned it to the nearest best buy store.... if you want a cold room i recommend a air conditioner*

This product doesn’t work!

We didn’t set it up right away because he wasn’t here yet. We finally set it up after a month of it sitting in the box in the room and it doesn’t work. Doesn’t blow cold air at all!! It blows warm air!! I would NOT recommend this to anyone! I packed it back up in the box and hopefully BEST BUY will take it back !

These units require cross ventilation along with dry heat for optimal cooling. Posted .Hi, Evaporative Air Coolers are not the same as Portable Air Conditioners. Air Coolers use the natural process of evaporation to cool down air versus air conditioning which requires a compressor and cooling refrigerant. Air Coolers are more comparable to a fan and should not be expected to cool like an AC. Air Coolers also work best in dry climates with humidity that is below 50 - 60%. It did not feel like an air conditioner at all.. it might be ok for small spaces. I did not like the fact that you have to put water in it.

Posted .Hi, the evaporative air cooler is not an air conditioner as it does not use a compressor or refrigerant gas. It should not be expected to cool as efficiently as a refrigerated air conditioner.
Our portable evaporative air coolers work best in areas with a dry climate with humidity levels below 50-60%. These units use water that is drawn from the pump and poured over the Honeycomb Cooling Media. As the warm air passes through the Honeycomb Cooling Media, the water absorbs the heat, naturally cooling and humidifying the air.
A fan then propels the cooled air out into the room. This no-compressor system cools naturally, efficiently and inexpensively.

We even have to turn them off after awhile. Sue you could spend over $500 for an actual air conditioner but evaporative coolers are perfect for the desert 99% of the time.

We used it over a very hot weekend waiting for our AC to be repaired and were grateful to have it. Easy to use and compact. It lasts several hours before having to be filled. Hint: the unit has 3 fan settings but if you tap the button 4 times, the air comes out a tad cooler.
