Customers are positive about the HPA250B air purifier's ability to improve air quality and reduce noise levels, with many praising its quiet operation and ease of use. The Bluetooth connectivity and effectiveness in odor removal are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects. However, customers are negative about the relatively high cost of replacement filters and the overall price of the unit. Some users also noted that the filters may need replacing sooner than expected.

We bought this air purifier because we are having a and addition built on to our house and there is dust everywhere and we have a 2 month old baby. This air purifier is a beast of a machine, our living room is 420 sq ft and even tho this machine says it is for up to 310 sq for it does the job in a larger room. The germ and allergy setting are great too as my wife has bad allergies and here in Michigan pollen, mold and dust are really bad in the fall and it works wonders.

Had this unit running now for about 3 months. Noticeable improvement in air freshness. Less breathing irritation. Less dust on the furniture.
Love the Bluetooth connection. And it doesn’t hog the Bluetooth channel on my phone. Only active when the app is open.

Couldn’t ask for a better product. It’s super smart and adaptive to the environment around it, the app integration with your phone is really awesome to use. And I’ll never have to worry when I have to replace filters because the app will notify me! You have to get this one.

I bought this as I had severe allergic asthma triggered by wildfire smoke. It works great and is so lightweight that it can be moved from living room to bedroom at night. I highly recommend this.

Pros: Quiet, effective, great design, 5 year warranty.
Cons: App scheduling is lousy, HPA300 is a better value.
AHAM CADR rating: 200-smoke, >190-dust, >180-pollen.
Dimensions: 10x20x22.
Cleans: 310sq. feet
My apartment is terribly dusty due to the heating ducts and it was getting to the point where I could barely breathe at night so I did my research and invested in this HPA250. I was excited about the auto VOC sensor mode but was surprised that it stayed on the lowest "germ" setting so it's pretty much a useless feature because obviously I wasn't happy with my air quality so I put it on "general" when I'm home, "germ" when I'm sleeping, and "Turbo" when I'm away bc that setting is loud but works well. I love that this can be right up against a wall because the air comes in the front and out the top.
Let me state that even on the lowest setting the cleaned air smells like summer air at the beach. When I move my nose back away it's like having a dust ball thrown at my face. That's the difference so this product obviously works wonders.
The app however is a big let down (1.0.0 at time of writing). Pairing took several attempts and the scheduling feature is useless. I want to set 8am-4pm "allergen", 4-5pm "turbo clean", 5-9 "general clean", and 9pm-8am "germ" on weekdays // weekends should be 12-9pm "general clean", 9pm-11:59am "germ" mode - all based on noise levels throughout the day. However, you're only given one option once/day otherwise it turns off. There is so much potential in this app if they improve the scheduling system and fix the bugs. Everything else about this app is terrific though.
*important note: your phone must have bluetooth 4.0 or newer for the app to work. This will likely leave 90% of customers out of luck but I applaud it because 4.0 saves battery life. Unless you're a tech junkie go for the HPA300 available on the Best Buy marketplace which lacks bluetooth but cleans 30% more.

I purchased this air purifier a month ago and I hope I have it forever. I'm currently sleeping in a large basement bedroom in an older home. I can run this purifier any time, day or night and it runs quietly without disturb anything I'm doing. I not longer experience that musty basement smell. The whole area smells fresh, all the time. I also don't suffer from a stuffy nose at night now. I love the blue tooth feature because it allows me to adjust the machine without even getting out of bed. The filters are easy to get to. I just can't come up with one complaint. I plan to purchase another as a Christmas gift for my parents.

This past Spring, in our area the tree pollen was exceptionally bad and I my allergies were in full force. Watery, itchy eyes, trouble breathing, (etc..). So about two months ago, I bought this Honeywell air purifier my bedroom. It was easy to set up and within just a couple of hours of operation, I could already notice the difference. At first, I turned it up to its highest level but eventually I set it to its automatic mode, which is usually very quiet unless it detects some large amount of impurity in the air. In fact, I liked the unit so much, within a week I was back at Best Buy, purchasing a second one for my office. What more can I say than it works great and is well worth the investment.
The only difficulty I've had is with the blue-tooth. I don't think they've worked out all of the bugs in the software yet. It seems that when I try to pair the second unit to my phone, the system loses it's pairing with the first unit. For me, that's not really a big deal because for the most part, these units are "set it and forget it". Besides, I'm not about to go find my phone and turn it on just to adjust the air purifier which is already right in front of me with the controls on the top. Just a gimmick.

Nice Auto Sensor and Bluetooth Feature

I bought the unit during the firestorm in Napa where smokes travel down to Vallejo area and basically the entire East Bay area. The auto sensor turned on immediately picking up where it bekieves should start at a certain level to get as much cleaner air into the room.
But first, I downloaded an app from an IOS, Apple 6 Plus to sync the unit with my phone so I could remotely turn the unit on; however, I haven't tried to turn it on while I'm at work. Anywhere from my room, it works especially when the auto-sensor detects any slight odor close to it's proximity. Just imagine making steak or something flavorful in the kitchen.
My concern is the filter replacement. I ran it a few hrs a day for maybe 3x/week since i bought it. Within weeks, the prefilter is about 1/4 used. If I leave it on auto sensor all day for 4 weeks, I might have to replace the prefilter once a month. It might be worth it for some. But I mainly turned mine on when I'm cooking. The Napa fire smokes didn't come into the rooms since I had the windows closed but the unit worked as best as it could given the situation I presented to the unit.

I bought 2 of these exactly 2 years ago. I use one for my daycare room and the other in my bedroom. It has helped with allergies a lot. Its easy to use and it lets you know when the filters need to be changed. Theres is an app that you can put on your phone and change the settings if your not at home or sitting in the other room and just dont want to change it. I dont think its noisy at all.

Previously purchased smaller Honeywell device and needed something for greater coverage area (20'×10' room). Very quiet for its size and does a great job circulating clean air. Also reduces odors from pets quite well.

We have two indoor dogs and two children that are both in diapers, so our house can get a little funky. We have one in our living room, which is twice the square footage as this is rated for, and it does wonderfully. The dog smell is gone. We had been moving this back-and-forth from the living room to our bedroom and we liked it some much that we bought a second one.

I was Skeptical on ordering this particular unit due to some of the negative reviews. However I’m glad I decided to try it myself. I wiped the unit down prior to using it and there was no bad plastic odors coming from it at all, (as that was mentioned in a few of the negative reviews). I was pleasantly surprised at how well it works filtering the air. It did take a few days for me to notice a difference In the air quality in our Bedroom room though. We have a large room and it’s the perfect size for our bedroom. The Bluetooth feature is really cool and you can adjust the settings with your phone without having to get out of bed which is nice. I also like the fact that you can replace the filters and it notifies you when it’s time.

I've only had this for about a month and have not had any problems thus far. Relatively quiet, controls are easy enough to comprehend. I have not looked at the filters since putting it into service, so I don't know how efficient they are yet. I bought replacement filters for when the time comes and the only very minor complaint I have is that the carbon filter is kind of an universal fit and needs to be cut to fit this particular air cleaner.

This is my first air purifier so I don't have experience with any other brands. So far i really like this unit. I purchased 2, one for each floor of the house. I rarely use the Bluetooth feature since it's just as easy to walk over and press a button. I almost always use the VOC feature anyway and it seems to work fine. It is generally very quiet, only being noticeable when the VOC kicks on to high.
