We bought this for my husband because it was so easy to use and set up. My daughter used it a few times and fell in love with it so much that she purchased one with her own money. I would have given it 5 stars but when we went to get it fixed (cracked screen due to operator) they said they couldn't fix it because the parts were unavailable any longer. We had it a total of 6 months.

Bought this as a birthday gift for my son and he absolutely loves it. He has the Google Pixel 3 phone and when he logged into the computer he was immediately able to transfer content from his phone. The touchscreen is great and doubling as a tablet was a plus since he didn't realize it could do that at first. To make it even better it was on sale so I got more for my money.

This laptop is a GREAT deal! (But no accessories)

I purchased this for my grandson for use during COVID-19 schooling-from-home. I spent a little extra to get extra RAM but got that back by purchasing a certified out-of-box item, which has--so far--performed as well as any "in box" item. The 14" screen size is perfect for him--not too heavy but still a reasonably-sized display when trying to view presentations online (and the display quality is pretty good, too!). I would've given this laptop a 5-star rating if I could've purchased a keyboard protector that actually fits this keyboard layout and a case that actually fits this size laptop case but neither are available--ANYWHERE! Not through Best Buy and not through hours of searching on Amazon and Best Buy. There seems to be only a half-dozen keyboard layouts out there but this laptop has a unique keyboard layout that doesn't match ANY of those. The generic "cut it yourself" cover is holding up ok but it is not "form/key fitting" so it constantly tries to peel up and I expect will eventually not "stick" anymore so will need to be replaced. And we found a case that is "close" to this size but it falls off fairly easily if you're not careful (and what 8-year-old boy is careful? =). Still, if the accessories we found and bought hold up for a couple of years, I'll be very happy but, next time, I will definitely research availability of such accessories before making another $500 purchase!

Purchased this for my 8th grade daughter for at home learning. Nice size, quality screen. Works great for her with the 2 in one laptop, tablet mode. She likes to read books on it in tablet mode, decent camera for her class meets. We have not had any issues, I could definitely see this working for her through High School and possibly beyond.

If your debating what chromebook to buy and want something really good but not too expensive then I think this hp intel core i3 is one of the best options. For a college student it can be a really great option as long as you don't require special software but if its just for school work and research, then this is the one you should get.

As a sys admin, I always need Windows for work but for personal use I rarely need anything other than a browser and media player. With a chromebook it does those thing and does them better than Windows. Also, having access to Android apps sealed the deal theres something a Chromebook can do that Windows can't. And this particular one has massive horsepower for ChromeOS. Perfect buy.

I'm a fan of HP 2-in-1 Chromebooks - I bought the previous version (white shell). Be mindful that the screen is good inside but poor (dim) outside. The internals are very respectable - processor, RAM (2x more than typical) and storage (also 2x more than usual). Just don't buy at the MSRP ($600+) - I purchased as an Open Box at $425, so the closer to $400, the better

Bought this for my son to use for distance learning when it went on sale. I used it for about two weeks to familiarize myself with Chrome OS and I must say it was a very pleasant experience. Performance was never an issue as the specs on this one are better than most chromebooks. As a matter of fact, I don't believe moving up to an i5 would help in any way based on how this one performs. I have no idea why anyone would pay extra for an i5 or i7 when the performance of the i3 is so good on Chrome OS. I waited for sales because I knew I wanted to make sure that the Chromebook I bought had at least 8GB of RAM to ensure that it would remain relevant for years to come. I'm sure 4GB would work, but with 8GB I know it will be completely usable for the entire duration that it is updated. My son loves it also and finds it to be every bit as usable as his desktop. If it has a downside I would say that it's a little heavy for a 14" at 3½ lbs. Most 14" laptops I have been using have been around 3 lbs and you definitely can tell the difference with this extra half pound. The build quality is excellent though and makes up for the extra weight. Other than that this is a great product from HP and I am surprisingly very happy with it.

Purchased 2 of these, 1 each for my 10 and 6 year old daughters. They work great because you can use it as a laptop or a tablet. This works really well for the 6 year old which is used to a touch screen tablet. The 10 year old can use it more as a traditional laptop for school. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the Chrome OS which is more limited in my opinion than other operating systems.

I've had this chrome book for about a month now. I'm very happy with it. One thing I like the most is the speediness and portability of it. I also love the back lit keyboard. It is the perfect size for me. And since I'm really not a fan of windows 10 I use it way more than my desktop. I am very pleased!

Purchased this for my 70+ year old mother in hopes to make it easier for her to navigate the internet and have access to the key things she likes to use. Is very easy to setup and the speakers nice. She seems to be able to access things well and less stuff to get confused about than a windows type device. So far so good but wish us luck!
