Firstly, I did purchase this from HP's webstore. It was actually cheaper to customize there.
-- I did order the OLED screen option for that sweet 1800p resolution. Makes a big difference on 16" screens. It's a great quality display. although it does struggle with dim grey colors. It has a slight flicker effect. Not sure how the LCD version looks, but based on my last EliteBook, it wasn't very good.
-- The layout and form factor of the laptop is very nice. I like that it still has USB-A & HDMI ports.
-- Battery life is pretty good with the 74Wh option and screen on low brightness and everything in dark mode.
-- Keyboard is good. Of course love the numpad, wish there was a calculator shortcut button. Only Dell seems to do that though.
-- Unit is upgradeable. I got 32GB of Kinston RAM and a 2TB SSD as I ordered this with only 8GB/256GB. Wasn't going to pay $800 extra when I can get the RAM and SSD for $250 and do it myself in a few minutes.
Now for the negatives...
--Thermals are not great. Kinda bad actually. The SSD is heatsinked to the outer shell which gets pretty hot. The 155H itself runs pretty hot too, the venting and single fan/heatsink isn't enough for an APU that draws ~90W under load. The CPU thermal throttles almost instantly just watching youtube.
My previous laptop (dell XPS 15) with an i5 12500H easily outpaces this i7 155H in Cinebench. The XPS has a lot better cooling. Especially with the laptop closed. The HP's vent is aimed at the bottom of the screen and gets a suffocated with the lid closed (using it in a docking station)
-- The bottom cover needs more support, you can easily push it in at the center. Even though it just hits the RAM cage it's not great.
-- Speakers are very average. Compared to my previous XPS and macbook air, it sounds terrible. Usable, but that's about it.
