Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the touch screen, ease of use, performance, lightweight design, and battery life of the ENVY x360. Many appreciate the value for the price and ample memory. However, some users cite a limited number of USB ports and concerns about the hard drive's reliability as drawbacks. The size of the laptop was also a point of contention for some customers.

Great Laptop if you have computer training

When I bought this Laptop, I wanted more space than my last and I liked the idea of a tablet. I was a Windows User and I wanted something that was familiar. I explained this to the sales rep. He guided me to this laptop HP Envy x 360. It had lots more space, an intel core and Windows. I bought it along with a HP printer that was compatible and with the laptop it costs $40.00 I also bought an external hard drive for an old BB Sony Vaio, that I had loved but needed more space. The Laptop had the new Windows 10 on it, that had just come out! I wasn't prepared for Windows 10. No problem with other versions of Windows. It turned out OK, because Best Buy helped me with the problem.

I couldn't decide between this one and a similar Dell laptop. Ended up going with this one cause it looked much better. The sound from the speakers was much better than the Dell also.

WiFi and Charging defective after 1 year

I have had an older envy 360 for about 2 years now. After a year I started to have issues with the wifi going out on me sporadically. To temporarily fix the issue I had to disconnect from current WiFi and reconnect. Sometimes this would happen two or three times, I've looked up what causes it and my best guess was I got a faulty wifi card, however looking up reviews it was not just me who had the issue. Then also the charging started getting sporadic. I would plug in the laptop and I would get an indication of "plugged in not charging" the only way to fix this is to let the battery completely drain and plug it back in after the battery is dead. Both these issues have plagued this computer ever since they started... Post warranty of course. I would try and avoid this machine, Google reviews on it at least before buying

    Very Dissappointed

My wife was looking for a new laptop and was pleased to read all the positive comments about this computer. She liked the look and size of this computer. The first computer locked up while attempting to install Norton and Office 2016. Locked up numerous time after having to restart by holding down the power button. She took the laptop back to Best Buy the next day and the Geek Squad representative said that everything was running normal and that the computer was just trying to update to many apps/programs at once. Hmmm...figured it would be able to handle that, but okay, we'll give it another try. Same issues when we took it back home. The computer would lock up even after we just initially logged in or when my wife was on a website and not doing anything else. Must have been a faulty computer. Took it back and got another one, same model. Guess what.....same issues and actually worse, because after having to reset the computer this morning, upon restarting it, we got a critical system error. Evidently, it was missing some startup file and wouldn't even load anything. Currently resetting the entire computer in order to return it to Best Buy and purchase a different model. Just don't want to have to cross our fingers if we purchase this model again. Don't get it, because no one else seems to have the issues we ran into and even looked on line for resolutions but couldn't find any.

    Bugs everywhere

Got this laptop about a year ago. Had to bring it in for repairs after a week, since windows kept opening by themselves and audio couldn't be heard from across the room. Touchpad occasionally stops working, and while it's an easy fix, it's still annoying. Currently get >1 hour battery life, which is no good when classes are 1 1/2-3 hours long. Trying to game is also very difficult, as it can barely handle it on the lowest quality settings. Also, the power button on the side is just irritating. Light-up keyboard is nice, though.

The screen got a grayish, yellowish tint. No matter what I do, can't get rid of the tint. The whites, not as white as it should be. Will return it.

    A waste of money

This is a long term review. I purchased this laptop around the end of July 2016 for my freshman year of college. The computer was easy to set up, use, has an excellent sound system, and display, but all of that becomes irrelevant when I faced the issues this laptop brought me. First and foremost this specific model has massive overheating issues. When I only have one tab open watching a video on youtube the device is noticiably hot, but this becomes a major problem when I try playing a game I downloaded off of Steam. The laptop became so hot that it crashed and shut itself down. Although it lasted through out the school year, by the time summer came around it was plain old unusable. I can't watch any video or browse any website without a "not responding" window popping up. The laptop also makes weird noises, and I can't even close notification tabs. I did a full virus check and nothing was found. I'm highy disappointed in this product and most likely will not buy another HP Envy or HP again. Do yourself a favor and research your laptop. Brand name does not guarantee a high quality product.

The worst computer I've ever owned

If you read any review, PLEASE read mine. It will save you TONS of heartache. I'm a small business owner and bought this laptop 2 years ago. Well it worked well for about 2 months. The track pad stopped working almost immediately and it acted like there was a virus inside the computer almost immediately. I had to call Geek Squad tech support pretty much on a regular basis to help me fix the multitude of problems that I had. It would just not connect to any internet for no reason. They told me it was a "driver issue". This happened almost daily- it would show that there were no available networks even though I know there were. The motherboard was fried and not working after less than 2 years. I'm sorry but I expect any computer to last longer than a few months. Worst experience I've ever had with a computer. DO NOT BUY HP.

    Buy Something Else

I'd suggest buying another computer. Though it was pretty and seemed to work fantastically at first, the WiFi wouldn't connect straight out of the box. I spent alot of time on the Internet, then gave up. I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with HP support and then an additional 3 hours waiting for the suggested system recovery process after all else failed. From all of the internet searches I did, it looks like this problem is quite common with these laptops. I don't understand why HP is sending them out like this? Anyway, I took it back to Best Buy. The associates were super helpful! I ended up purchasing a Dell. So far, so good!

Good laptop but awful battery life

Good laptop but battery life is not what they are saying it. Barely runs for 3 hours whereas some of the other laptops from other companies can run for 6 hours. I own this laptop and I am regretting buying this.

    Buy ONLY with PROTECTION

Had the computer for only 1 month before it fell. Broken screen costs $500 for geek squad to fix. Purchase only on a credit card that has product replacement perk. (DO NOT use Best Buy Card and the geek squad protection is too expensive). Can't find correct parts. One fall and this laptop is DONE.
