A decent product, with two glaring omissions

I bought this wireless keyboard on sale for $19.99, at a time when I was in need for one quickly. The product worked perfectly out of the box, and has been completely reliable since then. Given that performance, and the price I paid, I am satisfied with my purchase. However, I have noticed two "features" that are conspicuous by their absence. The product lacks an ON/OFF power switch, and it has no storage pocket for the USB antenna module that plugs into the computer. Thus, I have found it best to keep the USB module plugged into my laptop at all times, even when I'm not using the wireless keyboard, lest I lose the small module. However, that "ties up" one of my USB ports, which is sometimes frustrating when I need to plug in different devices. Also, with the antenna module always plugged into the PC, and with no ON/OFF power switch on the wireless keyboard, I have to careful that none of the keys on the keyboard is pressed when it is stored away from the laptop. One time, I had the shoulder strap on my laptop carrying case near the keyboard, and it was holding down the 'ENTER' key, which effectively locked up my computer until I figured out what was going on. Now I have to carefully store the keyboard if I'm not using it, or remove the batteries, which is annoying. In my opinion, this product should have been designed with an ON/OFF switch and a storage pocket for the USB module; these features would have added little to the cost, while greatly improving the value. I have seen these features on at least one other brand's wireless keyboard since I purchased this product.

    Excellent Quality - Low Price

Bought this for $19.99 and it's great. I've had some other $10 to $20 keyboards by off-brands you would recognize and I'm lucky if they last for a couple weeks. I don't beat the keys either. It must be something about the angles at which my fingers press the keys. I bought a couple of those bright yellow keyboards with large black letters as a 2-pack and one had dead keys in two days and the other one had other dead keys in 10 days. Absolute trash. The two pack wasn't to make it into a good deal it was to give you a spare for when the other one died quickly. This HP keyboard works flawlessly and it's about two month old now. The keys feel good and are very responsive so you can type with a light touch. They're kind of like hard plastic chiclets similar to the rubber chiclet keys but feel better. The only problem I had was when I plugged the receiver into a USB port on the back of my desktop PC. It was near my two wi-fi antennas and the keyboard would "drop out" in the middle of typing sometimes as though signal flow was lost. My Dell has a front slide down plastic door with a USB port in there so I moved it to the front and told the keyboard to pair up again and the drop out has never happened again. Excellent keyboard and even more excellent because of the low price and the HP name that would seem to provide better quality longer than those "other" off-brands.

    Excellent Budget Keyboard

I purchased this for around $20 on sale at Best Buy to replace an older style Dell keyboard at the office. I am a developer, so I spend a good portion of my day typing code. I wanted a wireless keyboard that was very slim, had chicklet style keys and a normal key layout. I have not been disappointed at all. They key travel on this keyboard is great. It's very responsive and easy to type on. While they keyboard is plastic, it doesn't feel cheap. There is very little flex in the base and the keys are not overly mushy. It's not a mechanical keyboard feel, but it's much more rigid that a typical Logitech keyboard. It is somewhat similar to the feel of my ThinkPad X1 Carbon keyboard (which I love), perhaps not quite as good. For the price, I ended up purchasing a second one so that I could use it at home. I've only had these for about 4 months so far, but I haven't had to change any batteries yet. If they would offer a higher end version with back-lighting, I would definitely buy it.

Excellent keyboard with nice "feel". The key strokes are short with just a slight crispness. Not sloppy loose keys. The unit is light weight and the keys are spaced nicely. Works great with my Windows 10 laptop. Overall very good. The number pad has full size keys that are properly spaced out and not cramped tight. If you have to do number entry you will like the number keypad. The negatives: the Delete button is in a non-standard location immediately to the left of the "enter" button and NOT above the backspace key. Not a big deal but your finger memory will have to retrain on that one. The other negative is there isn't an "on/off" switch. The keyboard runs on two double AA batteries. Don't know how long it will last between battery replacements. Finally, there are no indicator lights for number lock / scroll; and no light indicating Caps lock. I didn't expect there would be. This is a fine unit and a good quality overall.

Too much lag, and not entering all characters

I really liked the feel of this keyboard and loved the low profile design and wish so much that it had worked out. Unfortunately after about a month, this keyboard started malfunctioning and skipping keys, or inputting multiples of characters when I only pressed the key once. This caused me to be locked out of an account because it didn't input all the characters I had typed. Changing out the batteries did not solve the problem. Another annoying thing was that you could not tell if you had all caps enabled or not. I downloaded an app that would display onscreen whether you had caps lock or num lock enabled. I wondered if maybe there was interference due to having multiple cordless items in the same room, but none of my other mice/keyboards have had this problem.

Read the reviews and as you can see it has "great" reviews. When I setup the keyboard it worked great for about a few days but then the keyboard started to stop functioning when i pressed any key. After a few seconds the keys started to go on their own. I thought maybe it was the batteries but that didnt change anything. When trying to send an email it took me 10mins for a single sentence. I would need to restart the keyboard for it to work for a few minutes. I got pist and dump this keyboard. Maybe i got a defected one but after returning it and getting another one, i had the same issue. Even after i set it up on a different computer. Dont waste your $20 on this. You get what you paid for.

I really enjoy this keyboard. It's slimmer than traditional wired keyboards and I love that the keys are not difficult to press. Very smooth for fast typing. The only issue I had, not a big deal, is that the wireless capability needs to be pretty close or else it doesn't pick it up. I use a laptop for work but in the office I prefer to connect to a monitor and keyboard. Well, the monitor is in the corner and if the keyboard is parallel to the monitor and laptop docking station it works. However, this means I'm in an angle to my desk. So when I simply try and move the keyboard so that it is straight on my desk, perhaps nine inches difference, it no longer picks up my keystrokes. I'll have to rearrange my desk I guess. So other than having to be close to its Bluetooth connection it is a good keyboard.

This keyboard really has everything you need and nothing you don't. It is a great size for having a full number pad. The keys are not loud and offer just enough spring without reminding you of the old IBM click-clack keyboards. It has more give than lower laptop style chiclet keyboards which a nice happy medium for this style. The 5-link HP system works better than any other universal wireless universal input method from any brand I have seen so far. If you get an HP mouse as well you end up having a nice extra receiver. I am still on my first set of batteries after over a year of heavy use. The long and vertical delete key is perfect for you Excel warriors out there.

This is a great fit for a student desk, also the size is perfect for my hands as I use the numeric keypad a lot (The distance from the alpha keys to the numeric key on my previous keyboard was a bit of a stretch which strained my fingers) The key pressure is very light, which allows me to type at a faster pace. Set up was a breeze, the batteries were already loaded, so I just had to plug in the USB connector and connect. I also want to point out that the USB connector is a 5-link which means you can connect up to 5 wireless devices to one. Overall, this is a great buy. It's sleek, slim and functional. I would recommend this if you're looking for a basic wireless keyboard.

Overall, this keyboard gives a decent typing experience - almost perfect for me, but there is room for improvement. It works well and the keys are reasonably responsive. I said "almost", because the battery that came with it died within a month - I'm not sure what that means yet. Also, the keys could still be a bit firmer. Finally, the layout of Delete/Home/End/Pg Up/Pg Down keys is a bit different from the standard full-size keyboard so it takes time to get used to it. I've been looking for a comfortable and not too expensive keyboard for the last several month. So far, this one is better than the other two brands/models I've tried previously.

I switched out my work keyboard which was ...bulky, wires every where for this sleeker easier to type keyboard. I do have 1 CON . I can't tell if its in CAPS lock until I actually type... usually there's a little lighted dot somewhere on keyboards and unfortunately this one doesn't have one. I find the keyboard glitching sometimes when its not close to the hard drive which is where the input is plugged in at but no real problems, the price wasn't so bad either, so I would recommend it to the next person.

I really like the key layout and the depth of the keys, like you don't have to push them far to get the key press, however sometimes the keyboard sometime stutters with input and i don't know if its a connectivity issue with the program i'm using it with or the keyboard itself but once i clear things in the path of the censor it seems to clear up and that shouldn't happen. I've had wireless keyboards where the censor was so strong you could put a brick wall between the censor and the keyboard and it would still function correctly. So buyer beware, you get what you pay for.

I very much like the feel of this keyboard and its relatively small and flat size means it fits well on my desk's pull-out keyboard tray. HOWEVER, it does not in any way tell one when caps lock is on. I found a way to have the computer produce a momentary high note when I turn it on and a momentary low note when I turn it off. and that solves the problem. But If I were HP, I'd include instructions in the box on how to do that in Windows so people don't have to search for the fix.

I have a new HP desktop computer with Windows 10 and 16gb RAM and a 2 TB hard drive. I don't know if the K3500 Wireless Keyboard isn't quite Windows 10 compatible, or maybe it isn't USB 3.0 compatible, but it constantly lost the wireless signal. I'd try to type using the keyboard and it would come out like this: "elo y am iber" is supposed to be "Hello my name is Robert". I had the keyboard for about two weeks and it got worse every day until it was completely non functional and I bought a wired keyboard on Amazon.

This keyboard is light weight, which makes it great for the way we are using it. It is connected to a PC that links the internet to our flat-screen TV. I use the keyboard on a lap-tray while I am sitting on/in a recliner in front of the TV. So, that's a great use for this light weight keyboard. But if I want a wireless keyboard that supports some more serious typing, I would look for something more substantial. For this reason, the keyboard gets 4-stars from me and not 5-stars.

After six weeks, I can no longer rely on all the keys working, so this is useless to me. I do a lot of writing and need a keyboard that will make this process more efficient. This is not that keyboard. Also, I didn't realize how important it is to know if the Cap Lock is on: there is no Cap Lock light on this keyboard. Also, since the keyboard can't be lit, it is hard to differential between the apostrophe and the period by the keyboard graphics on all the keys when one's fingers get out of placement.

Love it. Works great. No turning on or off. It has number pad attached. However very long. Almost too long. Better to get one with scrolling touch pad with keyboard. That would help with it being very long. Save space that way. Great for beginners and people who have extra space for this and a mouse. I use it for a laptop. While doing hw. (Don't have a desk; space limited, to work problems out and write on paper, that way , I can avoid pulling my arm out with this keyboard when I need to put answers in.)

This is a great product for a wireless keyboard. Price is great as it was one of the cheapest available at the store. i honestly don't know why to buy anything more expensive. my only complaint is that the keys are kind of clunky when typing. they aren't as smooth as a laptop. but, it is something i am used to and don't notice until i use something different. not a big deal to me. this is the only reason i gave 4/5 stars. its a great size and portable if need be.

The writing on this keyboard is perfect, the keys respond quick, do not tumble or get stocked even when typing fast or pressing them hard. The pressure rise as you press the key avoiding your finger bone to hit the end hard. the setup is instant and the battery life is excellent, everything including the batteries are supplied so it's a one stop purchase. Excellent HP!

Overall, this is a very nice keyboard. The keys make for easy typing and also quiet. I knew going in that I would eventually have to replace the batteries after some time. I did not count on having to replace them after 1 month use. I only use it for light web surfing and a bit of light gaming. Still, not a bad product. Would be nice to have an "On" "OFF" feature on it to ensure the conservation of battery life.
