HP did a great job in balancing features in this budget laptop. It's light, decent gaming battery time, powerful mobile CPU, lots of storage space, GPU will handle most games, nice keyboard all at a price that will save money for other gaming accessories. The only minus for the model I bought, is lack of touchscreen.

The computer is fast and only noticeably slows down if I have 10 or more applications open or if I have too many tabs open. It can play Palidins at max setting and it's smooth as custard. The battery life is decent for the power that it is capable of. My only two complaints are the low battery warning sometimes comes in a little to late, making me rush to pause what I'm doing, turn the brightness down, and run for the charger. The other problem is that the fan is annoyingly loud 90% of the time. It's not super loud, it's not blatantly obnoxious and it's easy to forget about while in the midst of things. But it could be much quieter. (This is somewhat expected as the GPU and CPU heat up quite a bit bc of how powerful they are, so if I get a fan-stand then it should be quieter) Overall I'm okay with the amount of money I spent on it, I'm not sure how fast it would render some things but it does fine for what I use it for.

Okay, so I was looking for my first laptop and I new I wanted something that I could do all my schoolwork on, and also play games on. This laptop is great, however when I first bought it something was awry with the motherboard and bestbuy traded it out with a new one. All is good now and it is a great product.

gaming has been great using this computer, fast and reliable

I purchased this Laptop for Speed and Memory even though I am not a Gamer; I use it for Drag Racing programs while I am at the track for the weekend. Data Loggers and Weather Stations work great on this thing. This Omen Boots up in 5 seconds or less, It's extremely fast and that's what I needed/wanted. I saw the outer shell of it and it was very racey and looked fast with the Carbon fiber look, and Once I got to play with it I was super impressed !!!! The 15.6 screen is big enough to see and the clarity is awesome. I won't purchase any other laptop other than a the Omen. I wanted to go with the bigger screen, but I purchased a different 17.3" Laptop days before this and it was way too bulky for sitting in your Lap, and it just felt funny trying to do your keystrokes with everything being so big. I took it back and bought this HP OMEN and I am VERY HAPPY with my choice thus far. I also purchased the 3 year Extended Warranty due to the price tag, and for extended help if ever needed... Great BUY all around.. . :)

Love the speed of this machine with the Intel i7 core and the startup and operating speed are wonderful with the SSD included. HP has done it again with a great mix of speed and size.

Excellent gaming machine, but you will be better off if you upgrade the memory. Unless you are a techie, you will need to take it to an authorized service center to upgrade the memory, it's not a typical upgrade process.

Lovin my new laptop! It starts up super fast with like no wait time and I can just do my thing right away. Got it on sale on blk friday and this is the best laptop I ever owned. No problems at all since and is still going strong. Wish it came with a dvd/cd but oh well.

Decent laptop for low end gaming great if you are just using it for everyday tasks and getting online. Storage is great operating system being on the ssd makes boot up really fast. Lit keyboard make it nice for low light conditions. Over all decent computer for the 800 price range.

Fast, light weight laptop. Thin body, good video resolution, fast boot up. Could use more ports and CD drive but that's the trade off for thin and light weight. Only regret is not spending the little extra for the 17 inch screen. Can't speak to games as my uses are different.

This is a great laptop for those who want to game but do not want tp spend top dollars for a gaming laptop. It's also a lot thinner and sleeker then most laptops in its category. The only thing is the battery life is short but it was expected.

Looks like a laptop I would've dreamed up. He wanted a Razor, but I was on a budget of $1,000.00. He's had no problems playing any games or writing his essays and speeches for class... Only complaint I notice is the loud fan running always.

I travel for work and like to be sure I have something to do so a laptop for gaming is my best solution. This is a solid Gaming machine. Granted it makes trade offs against a tower but I am pretty happy with the processor speed and graphics.

The laptop is really stylish, the design is attractive. Good performance, fast. Great connectivity. It gets a little hot at times but overall, it is a very good computer.

I use this laptop for CAD and gaming and have no complaints using my Omen for either function. It's quiet, quick, and visually more interesting than my last HP especially with the key lights on.

Bought this for my son as his first gaming computer. Graphics card is great. Overall a good computer for someone looking for a gaming laptop that's not top of the line, but still can perform.

I looked around for a bit to find what I truly wanted within my price range and the Omen came about as close as I could get. It's fast, and has plenty of storage. I wanted something with both an SSD and HDD, and while I wish this had a 256GB SSD, the 128 hasn't disappointed. The screen resolution is great and the sound system is pretty good for a laptop. The only real thing I've needed to adjust to (and wish I could change) is the lighted keyboard. The key characters are red which is fine, but the back lighting on the keyboard is also red, making it a little over powering. You can turn it off however, so that helps. Overall, I like it and especially like the ports is offers and the carbon fiber look of the case.

So this PC certainly has the specs for a portable gaming rig. The only thing I believe HP could provide for the same price that would make it better is a larger SSD Drive. Other than that it's fantastic.

I really like this laptop, the SSD drive it's super fast and the GPU is snappy on high demand games. My only concern is the plastic case is slightly flimsy, but by no means a reason not to buy.
