I like the HP Spectre. I has smooth lines and very light for is screen size. It offers a touchscreen display and the keyboard feels smooth with adequate key stroke response. The OLED display is pretty crisp, great for watching movies and YouTube videos. The HP Spectre also has great video editing capabilities with the NVidia GEFORCE RTX graphics chip.

Hey what can I say but how satisfied I am so far with my brand new HP Spectre laptop computer. Everything from the unboxing, to the start-up and software installations, to the actual use of this laptop has been nothing but smooth sailing. No doubt I will make great use of this baby and will be happy for some time. You go HP!

Here is my review after using the Spectre X360 16" with the 4050. The Laptop is very studdary for some reason. I hope HP real eases some sort of update in the near future. Batter life is about 7 hours of Email tasks, word document, YouTube watching videos. The laptop does not screen wobble when tying which is a huge improvement over the predecessors. Get this laptop at the sale price that Best Buy rolls out every now and then.

Laptop itself, as in what the hp specter has to offer is incredible and versatile but best buy sold me a laptop that they claimed was in excellent condition and it was (by their own definition fair condition) they made no attempts to make it right other than refund me, which of course they want that, theyd make 600 off reselling this one and id be charged 900 more to buy a new one. Refusing to honor your own sales price at the time of purchase when it was your companies wrong doing to begin with is low. Unfortunately best buy has lost myself and my family and friends as customers one by one... the pictures are fresh out of the box delivered and the box wasnt dented or anything so this was shipped to me damaged like this.

The 16 inch Spectre for 2024

This computer comes with a nice display. The 4050 graphics card makes it suitable for most day to day tasks and some other tasks that require more than the basic graphics of Evo and the likes. The keyboard is comfortable although on a PC of this size it would have been nice to have a full size numpad as were in the Spectre 16x9 15 inch models offered several years ago. The camera on this unit is very good. The processor is efficient and the 32 gig memory on this model will run just about all tasks this unit can easily run. Overall a great PC for the price. One thing is that in the Best Buy offering of this PC they do not include a pen or sleave like in the previous years' models.

Closest competitor to this laptop is the Yoga Pro 9i, which has incredible performance and is probably a better buy if you don't need a sexy keyboard.
If I wasn't addicted to a touchscreen, the Macbook pro offers so much more performance for the same price... and if screen quality didn't matter, I would save 1k with the Envy series. Microsoft surface would have been my go-to (at 15") if it used AMD instead of Qualcomm as I require some specialized programs.
There is no other way to get a 16" touchscreen with this much pixel density on a laptop with 32GB of Ram and a discrete (though basic) graphics processor. Most OLED screens hurt my eyes, but this one is surprisingly gentle.
Unfortunately, this laptop struggles to coordinate great specs into a great user experience. It is always hot, especially on the right side, fans turn on even when it is not in use, and the graphics card gets maxed out on a zoom call.
Apple, please make a touchscreen!!!

Fantastic laptop. I bought this to replace a laptop that still worked well, but I was having issues with. I have a triple monitor setup through a dock. It worked, but it was always sluggish. The Spectre is not sluggish at all on the same dock. The screen is beautiful, and the 32GB of RAM really help. A decent amount of ports, although I wish there was one more USB. Keyboard is a little small for my tastes, but I am getting used to it.

The HP 16” Spectre is a nice machine. I upgraded from a previous 2019 Spectre as I wanted more RAM and a faster processor as I do a bit of editing with Adobe Lightroom so the extra power is nice! My previous Spectre was 15.6” and I believe the new 16” feels a bit lighter, so that’s good!
Some observations: The 2019 Spectre was a classy Poseidon blue with gold trim. This unit is a flat black with what looks like brown and purple undertones and no trim. Although a nice finish, I liked the Poseidon blue better. This unit has two Thunderbolt ports, as did the 2019 model, BUT…one of the Thunderbolt ports is needed for AC power so now I have to swap out external devices to use one port as there is no longer a power port for an AC jack; big disappointment, IMO. I may have to buy a small hub. The 2019 unit had a nice carrying sleeve and a pen. This unit has neither. The 2019 unit was 4K and this unit is 3K. Personally, I can’t tell the difference. That said, my photos pop on this display.
So far, I like the 16” Spectre and have always been happy with HP products. (Just wish HP had not excluded an AC jack port, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.)

This is my 3nd HP - Spectre laptop. We bought a 13" and a 15" Spectres in 2018. I decided to upgrade the 15" with this one. The quality is very noticeable in the Spectres. This one has the faster Intel chip. I wanted to stay with the GeForce for it's great speed and clarity. Having the 32GB Memory was a bonus. This is my fastest laptop yet. I'm so happy to find this one. Me and the AI Co-Pilot have had many discussions on the differences. I can now run backups in minutes not hours. HP out did it again!!!

Very versatile machine, powerful enough to play modern games (Helldivers 2) on medium settings at native resolutioj, excellent battery life (about 10-12 hours doing web browsing and document editing) and portable with a reasonably sized 140W charger. I bought an MPP 2.0 pen off Amazon and it works like a dream. Keyboard is wonderful and the haptic trackpad is huge and very accurate. Some bloatware, easily removed.
My only con is the case picks up lots of fingerprints!

Solid notebook but not good for both music and video production, even after optimizing settings. Overheats a LOT on the right side, even while simply using Chrome. Also has a problem where if you put it to sleep, it won't actually turn off, and once you realize it, the computer will either be scorching hot or have pushed itself to the limit of where it automatically shuts off due to overheating. This damaged my system and HP support is the worst (not taking this into account in this review, just wanted to let you know. Their customer support is a joke and they will string you along for weeks). Overall, decent laptop for light use. The screen is amazing, but this is way too expensive for a computer with many flaws.

This is a nice, lightweight productivity laptop, with a very nice screen, good speakers, and even some light gaming capability.
Out of the box, I tested light gaming first, and I was not very happy. There was some setting or something that was causing extreme input lag in all games. It was unbearable for any game.
I recently did a factory reset, windows cloud download, changed BIOS setting for "In bag detection" to off, updated BIOS and drivers, set Power mode to Performance, turned down the power saving features, and through all of that, I was able to fix the input lag issue and now I'm able to play a few games on it.
The screen looks great, and streaming content looks really nice and the audio is crisp (for a laptop).
It is lightweight, although not small. The 2-in-1 feature is nice for flexibility in displaying content. It's zippy enough, has a good amount of ram, and sufficient storage.

Great computer with very competitive price. Lives up to its promise in ease of use, great display, and high performance (5 stars) -- HP still a good PC choice. Best buy store employees very helpful in helping us (5 stars for them) make our decision and navigating intra Best Buy (on-line part of company) hurdles when a delivery hiccup occured (2 stars (being kind here) given on-line Best Buy customer service performance issues - something they must fix to keep company viable).

Very good laptop. Its my 1st PC so I get confused where everything is stored and saved vs a Mac. How to move things around. I'll get it eventually because copilot is helping me. The keys stick - that's the only negative (down arrow, delete). Battery lasts a long time when I take it out. Don't need to bring the plug.

I’ve been using the HP Spectre x360 16 for a few weeks now, and I’m absolutely blown away. This laptop is a perfect blend of performance, style, and versatility.
Display & Design
The 2.8K OLED screen is jaw-dropping. Colors are vivid, blacks are deep, and everything looks cinematic. Whether I’m editing photos, watching movies, or just browsing, the display makes everything feel premium. The Nightfall Black finish is sleek and professional, and the build quality feels solid and luxurious.
Performance
With the Intel Core Ultra 7 and RTX 4050 GPU, this machine handles everything I throw at it—video editing, multitasking, even light gaming. The 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD make it lightning-fast and future-proof. I’ve had zero lag, even with dozens of tabs and apps open.
2-in-1 Flexibility
The 360° hinge is smooth and sturdy. I use it in tent mode for streaming, tablet mode for sketching, and laptop mode for work. It’s incredibly versatile and perfect for both productivity and entertainment.
The Bang & Olufsen speakers are loud and clear—great for music and video calls. The massive haptic touchpad is responsive and comfortable. I also love the fingerprint reader and webcam privacy shutter for added security.
Battery Life
Battery life is decent—not amazing, but good enough to get through a full workday with moderate use. Fast charging helps when I need a quick top-up.
Final Verdict
This laptop is a beast in every sense. It’s powerful, beautiful, and packed with features that make it worth every penny. If you’re looking for a premium 2-in-1 that can handle creative work, multitasking, and media consumption, the HP Spectre x360 16 is a top-tier choice.
Highly recommend for professionals, creatives, and anyone who wants a laptop that turns heads and gets the job done.

An excellent modern laptop that has a 15th generation Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU, OLED touch screen, 32 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU. It also is a 2 in one where the laptop functions as a giant tablet computer. The only issue with this machine is that it should have more USB ports. I use a fast USB hub for additional USB ports and a wireless mouse, since I prefer the mouse versus the touchscreen when using the machine as a laptop on a desk.
