Customers are delighted by the Spectre x360's lightweight design, long battery life, and responsive keyboard. Many appreciate its portability and compact size, finding it ideal for travel and everyday use. However, some users noted that the device can get warm under heavy use and has a limited number of ports. The fan noise was also mentioned as a minor drawback by a few customers.

It's been a long time since I've been this impressed by a new computer. This is arguably the best Win 10 laptop on the market, and it probably gives the guys from Cupertino a good run for the money. Even the unboxing experience is good. Screen is great. Keyboard is great. Touchpad is great. Maybe the only downside is that when using it as a tablet, it's a bit heavy, but that's to be expected with a quality metal case. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe it. Hands down, a great buy.

I am in love with this computer. I am not a fan of apple and this is way better, and I will never go back to apple. Perfect size, very light weight and easy to change and use it either as a laptop or tablet. Easy to manage all my e-books, my movies, pictures, and documents. Good performance and speed. The perfect computer I ever had. I am going to buy it again for a family member. Thank you HP!!

First let me hit what some may not like about this as there is very little else to dislike about it. It is a 15" laptop with an I7 processor and only 8 GB of RAM. It only has one USB port and no CD\DVD\Blu Ray drive, other than that everything about this laptop is awesome. The monitor quality is bright and crisp. It boots up in seconds and has facial recognition for logging in (it has a pin also if you don't wish to use the facial recognition or let someone else use the laptop) Some may consider the 256 GB SSD small but I have a ton of external and networked drives to save my files to so it is fine for me. It is feather light but nicely made and has an AC NIC (5 GHZ). It is an amazing laptop and I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros:
- Loud speaker volume with decent enough quality
- Feels and looks premium
- Very fast, can run some newer games, I've run Heroes of the Storm on it and am considering playing dota as well (low-medium quality is expected for both)
Not pros or cons;
- Trackpad is a solid 7.5/10, I'd say the XPS 13 and the Macbook's trackpads are 9 or 10/10, that being said it's still definitely usable. I had a Lenovo Yoga 900 that I returned because the trackpad was 4/10, this was a major improvement
- The weight of the device makes it a little awkward to use as a tablet, but that's kind of the whole 2in1 market atm, not really unique to this specific device.
Cons:
- Uncertain long term reliability. I already had to reseat the space bar because it was getting stuck but it works fine now.
- Very annoying scroll down key, which I use a lot
- Rife full of bloatware...
I think this laptop is in it's sweet spot when it's on sale and cheaper than the XPS 13, which IMO is the better device at the same price.

I am going to do this review Pro/Con style. I did update the machine to the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.
Pros: Fast processor, fast SSD read speeds (1300MB/s), nice keyboard feel, responsive trackpad, relatively light for a notebook (2.8lbs), bright screen, Windows Hello, loud speakers, fast charging, two USB-C 3.1 connections, well-made
Cons: Slow SSD writes (300MB/s), keyboard backlight has only on/off setting, trackpad clicking required too much force, keyboard exposed in tablet mode, too heavy as a tablet (2.8lbs), screen color is passable, speakers distort rather quickly and are pretty thin sounding, battery life is nowhere near what is touted (rated 14+ hours, I've gotten 6-7 hours at best with 50% backlight), Has "Battery Time Remaining" unavailable in stock Win10 Battery Icon and must use third party tool to get estimate, lots of crashing (might be solved with a clean Windows install), Windows Home (not Pro)
Bottom line: Do I think it is worth the asking price? Depends on your needs. If you need a smaller, convertible notebook then this is probably the best out there. Problem is it does neither function as well as a separate notebook or tablet.

This laptop is truly amazing. It's the best laptop I've ever had. Everything about it is great, there's nothing wrong with it whatsoever in the time I've had it. I highly recommend it and would get it again.

Battery drain when shut down?

Unfortunately, I had to return this product because my battery would keep draining even after I shut it down slowly. I tried to talk to their technical support but could not fix it. There are many forums online that discuss this exact issue. Other than that, it was an amazing laptop but just wish this problem could get resolved

The laptop is not perfect, but it is very close to it.
Good design, good feel and good user interface.
Windows 10 is not 100% stable but it is a very good OS.
I'm happy with it and I would recommend it.

This was a replacement for a Lenovo Yoga 910 that I returned. The first day I used the Spectre, I felt like I bought a computer with a preinstalled virus. Because it was doing all kinds of crazy things for hours. Also, the fan runs way to much. As I'm typing this, the fan is going crazy. Its as loud as the fan was on my old 2010 Sony Vaio.
There is a lot of bloatware preinstalled. Out of the 256g drive, new out of the box, there is only 179g available. The trackpad is not as fluidic as it was on the Lenovo. And because large width of the trackpad, it kinda odd when you need to right or left click the pad.
After I charge the Spectre to 100%, I turn it off. When I turn it on in the morning, the battery is at 90%. So I'm not sure what its doing when its turned off. With the battery saver feature turned on, and only moderate use, I get maybe 6hrs of battery life.
I think the iris scanner is either blind or needs glasses, because it only works 1 out of 10 times. I usually end up using my password.
All in all its not a bad computer. Its functional. It's a nice looking laptop. The key travel is decent. The display is nice. Although the specs for the Yoga and the Spectre are neck and neck, the Spectre runs a little slower. Probably because of all the software HP preinstalled. And after I have typed this whole review, the fan is still going crazy.

I was thrilled to purchase this laptop, but then within 2 hours I got a sad face and it turned off due to drive I guess. Then it would turn back on very quickly but then within 30 - 1 hour use it would kept going that. So next day I exchanged it for a new one, no problem. Writing using it, it did it AGAIN! Now I got to exchange it. I really like the laptop but it keeps messing up. I think I may get another laptop instead, seems like it'll keep popping up.

Pros: light, fast SSD read speeds, USB C
Cons:
USB C driver issues
Battery drains 10% per day while OFF on some laptops with no response from HP just search the HP forums
Keyboard is worse than my aftermarket (zagg) tablet keyboard
SSD write speeds half that of the Lenovo yoga 14 which uses a conventional SSD, not nvme
Overall yes this is a cool looking, light ultrabook, but it feels like an early development model. There were two BIOS releases in one week!

MOST DEFECTIVE LAPTOP

getting the Microsoft surface Pro or the HP Spectre 360 with 512 i7. During my visit to bestbuy there was an HP representative that told me that this laptop was the most durable laptop that he watched the company actually do some drop test and it still worked. Being very stylish and durable I decided to go with this laptop.
THE CONS
My laptop is actually the 4th one I exchanged. I was adamant on having this but all the ones I bought had a button that wasn't working. Brand new out of the boxes i had to test out the buttons before I left the store. But finally i bought the one i have now and no problems at all. After A YEAR of using it, guess what, the DOWN BUTTON gets stuck, the LEFT MOUSE PAD gets stuck at times, and the worst part now is that the RIGHT SPEAKERS VIBRATE. as if it blew up. I barely used this computer and comparing the Toshiba laptop i had before never had a problem. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF ... I recommend you get the microsoft surface or the Microsoft surface book cause my wife did have both and still performs and doesnt have defect. I barely used the 360 mode anyway and if I do it becomes the most HEAVIEST FREAKING TABLET in the world. Atleast the Surface book detaches and its very lightweight.

Spectre x360 have very big problem. Even when the laptop is turn off, battery drains. HP released the updates but it will not fix the problem. Unless your okay with this problem, do not buy. I will be returning my laptop.

When I first got this laptop, I was excited to use it. To my dismay, the computer froze twice in about 5 mins I was using it. I was reading reviews and even best buy employees told me it was a good laptop, but I don't see it.

This laptop broke less than in an year, even though I barely used it. Thanks God I had a store warranty and they replaced a motherboard, but there is no guarantee that this will happen again.
