    Another Great Hyrule Warriors Game

The quality of this Warrior's game is insane. Loved Age of Calamity, and I still think I like it better than this one. However, this is certainly the best game to follow Age of Calamity. The gameplay feels fluid, the animations are crisp, and the art style is shining at a very high degree in this game. Hyrule Warriors already put Warriors games to a new and cool standard for me, so it's nice to see this off-shoot of two franchises keeping up with one superb entry after another. Best way to get more Zelda before the next main Zelda game.

Amazing gameplay, it built off of the framework Age of Calamity made very well. The story was amazing aswell, multiple steps above the games it was built on in that regard.

As I’m nearing my playthrough, the game is a huge step up from the previous hyrule warriors. I also recommend this game for anyone who was wanting the canon story of the imprisonment war that wasn’t fully explored in tears of the kingdom.

Zelda (Switch 2) Game Review I recently played Zelda on the Switch 2 and was thoroughly impressed. The game showcases the incredible power of the new console, with stunning visuals and smooth performance that make exploring the world feel immersive and seamless. Overall, I would rate Zelda a 9 out of 10. Even without highlighting specific favorite features or major criticisms, it’s clear that the game delivers a top-tier experience worthy of the Zelda name. If you’re a fan of adventure games or the series in general, this is a must-play title on the Switch 2.

I loved that Age of Imprisonment dives into the previously unseen “Imprisoning War” — telling a piece of lore from the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom back-story — and gives fans a “canon” glimpse at the events leading up to that game. Nintendo Life +2 Wikipedia +2 The inclusion of iconic characters like Princess Zelda and King Rauru fighting alongside new heroes felt epic and emotionally satisfying. Nintendo +2 Wikipedia +2 Combat & Gameplay: As a “musou”-style game (hundreds of enemies at once), the combat feels great — fast, satisfying, and chaotic in the best way. Nintendo Life +1 On Switch 2 especially, battles run much more smoothly than past entries: single-player mode hits 60 FPS most of the time. Nintendo Wire +2 Nintendo Everything +2 Enemy hordes, flashy animations, and special moves give a real sense of power when you wipe out a group or take down a boss. Visuals & Performance: Graphically it’s solid for a musou game — the world of Hyrule feels alive, and there’s a real sense of scale when you charge across battlefields. Nintendo Life +2 Nintendo Life +2 The Switch 2 upgrade helped a ton: frame rate is stable much of the time, which makes fights feel more fluid than what we saw in older entries. Nintendo Wire +1 That said — cutscenes and lower-action moments betray some compromises: resolution can dip (especially in handheld or during cutscenes), and some of the lower-res or uneven pacing in cutscenes feels a little rough compared to gameplay. Nintendo Everything +2 Reddit +2 Replayability & Content: There’s a decent amount to dig into post-campaign: lots of characters to unlock, side content, harder difficulties, and completionist challenges that keep things fresh if you like messing with builds or replaying missions. Nintendo Life +1 The co-op (split-screen) and “GameShare” multiplayer add value if you want to play with a friend. Nintendo +1 The Downsides: The mission/map design gets kind of generic — many levels feel like “go here, clear enemies, move on,” without a lot of strategic variety or memorable level layouts. Nintendo Life +1 Repetition is almost baked in: once you’ve done a few chapters, the formula of “wave after wave” starts to feel predictable. Kotaku +1 For fans hoping for a sprawling, open-world Zelda experience — this isn’t it. It’s very much a musou action-game dressed in Zelda garb, which will click if you like the genre but not if you expect exploration or deep RPG-style progression. Verdict: If you’re a fan of the Zelda universe and enjoy action-heavy “hack-and-slash” / musou-style gameplay, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is a great pick. It brings a canonical chapter of Hyrule's history to life, delivers satisfying combat, and benefits from a big performance boost on the Switch 2. It’s not perfect — its repetitive structure and classic musou-style map design hold it back from greatness — but for what it aims to do, it succeeds with flying colors. Solid 4-star action fun.

This game puts a good wrap up to the botw era. It is a true prequel to tears of the kingdom that isn’t like age of calamity. There’s enough little things to do if you want to 100% the game. I’m about 90% done with the map and I have put in around 40 hours so far. This is the best a warriors game has run on Nintendo hardware too! No lagging when there is a lot going on the screen. You do see occasional lagging when playing handheld but I mostly play with my switch 2 docked.

This is an excellent Musou game. Ive always enjoyed these Warriors games that use specific IPs, but this one might be my favorite (or close to it.) Runs great, has enough variety to stay compelling, and adds context to Tears of the Kingdom.

Great game. Fantastic gameplay. Compelling story. I love how it shows what Zelda went through during her part in the tears of the kingdom story. They used actual cut scenes fro. Tears and added layera to them giving a fuller amd more intense explanation of events, while making giving this a feeling of it own.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. Now I’m at the last level and am kinda disappointed that the game is ending. The only reason I’m not gonna 100% the game is because I’m about to start Metroid prime 4 A must own for any switch 2 owner

Warriors style prequel to Tears of the Kingdom. And yes, it is Canon to the Wild Era Zelda games. If you played a Warriors style game before you know exactly what you are getting into, if not it's a few characters verus an army. There are Tears of the Kingdom elements in the game along with a few characters from the memories of Tears of the Kingdom. You fight alongside Zelda, King Rauro, and the other sages and characters in the Imprisoning War to seal away Ganondorf. Each character has a unique skillset and ablilites that get enhanced and stronger as you progress through the game. You can choose to play it on easy or if you want a real challenge crank it up to hard or very hard. You'll spend hours upon hours playing through the game.

A great action packed game. Its the most fun I've had playing a Switch 2 game besides Donkey Kong Banaza. A must own for Switch 2 owners. Took me 25 hours to beat, and theres still plenty more to do after the credits roll.
