Customers are satisfied with the cooling performance, easy setup, portability, and price of the 250 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner. They appreciate that it cools their rooms effectively, is simple to install, and can be easily moved from room to room. The affordable price point is also a positive factor for many customers.
However, some customers have concerns about the noise level and weight of the air conditioner. Additionally, a few customers have noticed an increase in their electricity bills after using the air conditioner.

Blows cold air!

Bought this a couple weeks ago. There weren't any reviews when I purchased so I really blindly purchased because it was the cheapest portable air conditioner I could find.
PROs
Blows cold air. Blasts cold air in an up down motion.
Easy to install. Remote makes it convenient to turn on and off.
CONs
Super heavy. Was a pain to carry up stairs. You need to separate about a foot and a half from wall and window. Maybe all portable ac units require this but I didn't know that when I purchased. Would've been useful info to have when I purchased. Floor needs to be level or you hear noises. I have carpet so I needed a 2ft by 3ft piece of wood to place under ac unit to level the unit. The unit is pretty loud when it's on full power. If temp is close to what you set it to reach then ac unit isn't noticeably loud. But if its 85 and you set desired temp at 65 then unit is pretty loud. I have to increase volume of my TV when AC unit is loud. If its 70 and you set to 65 then ac unit is not loud at all.
Overall I would recommend product because it works. I was worried product might break in a week but I've come to rely on it more and more. So far it's very dependable. Because of pandemic I've been working at in my bedroom but the heat made me lazy. This unit keeps me cool during my workouts. Everytime it blasts cold air when it's hot I'm like...this was so worth it.

This nice appliance was never used because I have a house full of boxes, presents, more boxes, BIG boxes, and unassigned furniture, appliances, decor, etc., and extra boxes, due to the big time remodeling job to which my home was subject.
Thus, there's not a lot of room for movement. Still, I bought the portable rolling AC unit because, at the time, my rooftop Rheem's thermostat went out, and my cat and I were suffering unspeakably from the heat.
Naturally, I was hoping against hope that it would fit in my home and move around with me from kitchen to bedroom to living room to office, etc., with ease.
Additionally, just moving the unit out of my car took two people and over an hour, it was that heavy.
This meant I couldn't lift the behemoth up over my head to move it from room to room in case there was a traffic jam amidst the boxes, furniture and other imposing stuff strewn hither and yon.
In the end, I had to return it to the good folks at Best Buy, on the same day I purchased it.
Should have mixed in reading glasses, a measuring tape and more brainmass before leaving for the store in the first place.
The reviews were excellent, the price point fair, and it's a nice-looking appliance. I would surely recommend it based on those 3 factors, even though it never left the box it came in.
My precious cat and I suffered through yet another week of 100+ degree temps inside; that is until the new thermostat was finally installed. The remodeling job, however, continues.

This summer has been pretty nasty. Even with central air, my office upstairs was still incredibly warm. I picked this up after returning one from Amazon that was much more expensive. This unit from Best Buy surpassed all expectations. It works incredibly well, is easy to navigate, and keeps the entire office incredibly cool. It’s definitely a louder unit, but has this awesome “swing” mechanism that moves up and down while blowing cold air out to make sure it gets the entire room. It’s really slick :). In any event, this is definitely not a small unit. It’s as big as the one we returned to Amazon. It works really well, though. If you want an easy to install portable A/C, this is the one for you. Thanks!

Impressive AC Unit

I purchased this AC unit in preparation for the summer heat waves & fire season that has become notorious in the PNW. I decided to install it in my bedroom, because I tend to be a hot sleeper. The instructions and materials included made the installation process seamless. It includes everything that you need to create a seal for your window, no additional pieces required. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my purchase. It keeps my bedroom cool and has a variety of settings so that you don’t have to keep it running when it’s unnecessary. The AC mode is louder than a traditional fan, but if you like white noise, it shouldn’t be an issue. I highly recommend this product!

I have this unit installed for a couple of weeks now. It's pretty quiet compared to my older De'longhi. Ice cold air thats great for a small to regular size bedroom. One concern I have is the amount of condensation which drains out the hose. It seems to be more than my older unit. It would be very convenient if you can run the hose outside the window so you don't have to constantly be worried about the water building up in a bucket. This unit also comes with everything you need to install. Insulation tape and foam included. Having the remote control is a plus! Overall I'm happy with the unit.

So far AMAZING!! I’ve lived in homes with air-conditioning my whole life so I finally moved into a home yes I have a pool but no air conditioning!!! Me and my husband were going crazy trying to figure out how to keep our house cool so I finally came across this portable air conditioner. I have a pretty decent size bedroom so I figure 6000 BTUs would be perfect and let me tell you this portable AC is amazing! I love that the air conditioner has a swing flap so when you turn it on it opens before the AC actually turns on which is a pretty cool feature! It’s not very loud it’s about a standard sound for a portable AC which is normal! The first day I got it I put it at 64 because our house was super hot so I wanted to make sure it cool down our room pretty fast within an hour I had to put it up to 73 because it made my room so chilly I was so happy wotj this purchase! I’m definitely gonna be purchasing a few more of these for my home I highly recommend anyone looking to save a buck and keep their house perfectly cool and comfortable!! Also I forgot to mention very very easy installation!! Super quick it was up and in the window in about seven minutes highly recommend!!

Got this for less than 1/2 price, "open box excellent"." Using for bedroom that has only a sliding glass door, no window.
I built a vent tube bracket holder from a wood board, something I've done 3 times now for other friends in the apt building. Approximate cost was $60 for a planed poplar board and weatherstripping. I'm a bit of a handy man, so I already have tools to cut the hole etc... I am very surprised that the (no window but 6ft sliding balcony door) issie has not been addressed by ANYONE? Every seller or big-box store offers some kinda flimsy excuse for an adaptor for a horizontally sliding window. But noone has thought to address the (sliding door only) issue. But I digress. The solid wood option also insulates from the outside and is much sturdier than plastic.. I also wrapped an old blanket around the vent pipe to further insulate the room from heat.
The unit blows great volume and it seems cold enough and accurate to within 3 degrees from across the room. I feel like it is very quiet, as AC's go. The compressor has a little hum but nothing annoying, no sudden odd noises as turns on and off. Fan is also quiet, but at high speed noticable "air rushing" sound, which I actually find soothing as" white noise" to sleep by. The operating instructions are a little vague but if you are "techy-inclined" youl figure it out. Took me a while to figure out how to get the fan to operate continuously, until I READ THE PANEL (duh, sometimes I miss the obvious). It was driving my crazy with "turning off" before I realized this, even when not in "auto mode"..
The summer heat hasnt fully arrived yet but I am confident this unit will cool my 12x15 room just fine.. Been using it afternoons to cool off and set at 75 and go to sleep by it, partly to drown out city srteet noise. When the temp cools outside, the compressor doesnt run at all, or very little.

It is amazing especially for renters due to ease of installation. No special tools are required except perhaps a single screwdriver. This unit does cool the room (10 x 11 ft) relatively quickly.
One downside you should be aware is that this thing gets quite noisy. I measured it to produce 60 dB on low fan settings.
Other than that, just keep in mind that this unit isn't self evaporating. You will need to drain once every month or two.
I recommend looking for another brand IF you need quiteness.

Cools ok, I wish it would oscillate side to side. If you change the temperature on the unit the remote does not change. From the first time I turned this on there has been a weird shaking sound coming from what I imagine is the condenser adding to an already very loud unit. The fan continually blows even when it's not actively cooling just draining electricity.

I love this unit! I have it in a bedroom and it has it super cold in there. Keep in mind i do have blackout blinds in this room that blocks the sunlight. The room stays cool for a few hours after turning the unit off. Have not had to drain the ac since purchasing on June 21 but you can if you want to. It does have condensation in the tank but its not a lot. The noise isn't that bad to me but it is an air conditioner so you have to expect some. It puts me to sleep though so I'm good with it. I will buy this brand again if needed.

So far, so good. I've used it for about 4 weeks now (mostly because the pollen has been terrible and an open window is a bad thing for me!). It's easy enough to set up and the directions are easy to follow. It's noisy--but I like the steady hum of it as I sleep. I like that you can turn the lights off on it! And it comes with enough extra foam pieces to make a snug fit in the window with leftovers for next year's installation, too. Here's hoping it will really cool the bedroom when the temps hit +90F. TIP: put it in some sort of "pan" just in case it leaks. I used a really large round plastic one.

I purchased two of these air conditioners for my apartment. They have been working wonders on keeping it cool on the extra hot days. Every once and awhile, one of them will start pulsing as though its revving it's engine; simply turning it off and back on again seems to alleviate this.

I am a senior citizen who lives alone and wanted to replace my old window air conditioner in my bedroom to a more energy efficient one. I decided on this model because of it was the right size, energy efficient, had a remote, and was reasonably priced. Also I am able to take the hose in and out of the window myself. It cools quickly and is relatively quiet. When in use, it replaces my sound machine. The best feature for me is the remote. I can turn it on and off or adjust the temperature without getting out of bed. I've only had it for a month but so far, I love it.

Got this for my grandmother. She, at first, didn't care for the fact that it was not in the window, but she loved how easy it was to install, and how she can still see out the window compared to a normal window air conditioner. My only personal complaints about this product are that the hose is pretty thick, and it did not come with anything to keep things from going inside the hose from outside. But a screen fixed that issue for me.
Also a little warning, it is a little heavier, but is on wheels.

I purchased this for my bedroom it was really easy to set up and is probably one of the best air conditioners I’ve ever had. My bedroom is about 220 sq feet, it cools it off in no time. If you are in need for an air conditioner then this is the one to get. Comes with a warranty but can purchase extended if you would want.

I tried Frigidaire, I tried Toshiba and I tried Midea and this Insignia portable AC has beat them all. I was looking for a portable AC that would have continuous fan for our bedroom. Unlike the living room or the office, a continuous fan noise is important because I am the light sleeper. Most all manufacturers do not allow for this. They all shut down the fan when the set temperature is acquired. Can you imagine white noise in your bedroom that turns off and back on off and back on off and back on. Insignia has a setting for Continuous fan! Yay my search is over. I believe the Insignia portable air conditioner is more quiet than others I tried. I also love the feature called Follow Me. By selecting follow me my Insignia will try to match the temperature where the remote is laid. How cool is that! Installation was easier than most portable air conditioners. The window piece fit nicely without air gaps showing. No tools necessary unless you want to use a few unnecessary screws. I did not. I have thought of the Insignia brand as an economy brand and so I bought Best Buy's extended warranty out to 4 years. For the reasons I mentioned and other reasons as well... I prefer this little Insignia which I purchased for $279.

I bought this last May 19, 2021. Summer is fast approaching and it’s getting warmer. It’s easy to install however quite heavy. Easy to operate and cools my room just in 2 minutes.
