Product arrived safe and sound with not a scratch or dent on it. I was concerned by some of the other reviews, but I was pleased with just how well packaged it was. Nothing was left unsecured or free to rattle around.
Actual performance has been fantastic. I keep mine set at 3. The fridge keeps things cold and the freezer keeps things solidly frozen. I purchased some mochi as a 'sacrificial test' and when I pulled them out they were hard as rock.
I'm actually very impressed with the design - it's built to be energy efficient. The freezer is segregated into drawers, with cooling racks between them. Most people are probably familiar with the 'cold air is heavier than warm air' etc. So every time you open your freezer door, all the cold air comes spilling out, essentially, almost like a liquid. The drawers are set up so that the the cold air is preserved like baskets. Opening the freezer door causes no significant drop in temperature, which means less work for the unit to maintain the temperature.
I keep mine set at 3, but one thing you DO want to be careful of, is that while you *can* set the fridge 'above' 3, all that does is make it run constantly. I don't recommend this. You'll wear it out and it won't get any colder, and frankly doesn't really need to in my experience. Just keep it at 3 and let it do its thing.
The unit is very well insulated. I've not noticed any room heating from it running. In addition, the unit is quiet. I've seen a few reviews complaining about noise. Frankly, it's so quiet it barely even counts as white noise. I've been keeping frozen dinners and deserts in it, along with drinks and food in the upper fridge part.
It's spacious. Frankly, I was a little surprised at the size. It's not your average mini-fridge that does 'psuedo cooling' with a fan or anything like that. It's basically a regular fridge shrunken down. I've had no issues. I'll update this review if there are any, but thus far I'm very happy with it. It's the perfect size for me.

Fighting Multiple Sclerosis With A Minifridge

I've had this fridge for about a month, and it works great. I bought it with a specific purpose in mind and with a specific amount of storage needed. This fulfills both of my needs and really changed my life for the better. I broke down everything there is about it into 3 main categories: Rating, Purpose, and Pros/Cons.
Rating and reason for star knockdown:
I give this mini fridge a 4.5 out of 5 (rounded down to 4). It came in great shape, no dents or issues that I saw in most complaints, but I also had it delivered directly from the store to the 2nd floor bedroom where it now lives. The 0.5 star markdown I gave it is due to a minor issue with the bottom of the freezer where the cooling coil likes to pop up a bit. It still cools properly and although it looks like the drawer wont close properly, it does, especially once you've closed the door. So there are no physical issues with this product, just one minor gripe about it not being "perfect".
Purpose of this minifridge:
This minifridge was bought for a bedroom in order to store cool drinks and ice packs in close proximity to my bed as I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and cannot regulate my own temperature well. As a result I overheat often, and going downstairs to obtain ice packs and cool beverages often makes it worse rather than better. Having the cool items practically at my fingertips has been a gamechanger in my daily life.
I intend to store water and sodas in the fridge, with ice packs and otter pops in the freezer. I do not have a ice vest yet however so I have a decent amount of ice cream in the section intended for the ice vest. I do not intend to store any perishables in the refrigerator section, and aside from some ice cream the same holds true for the freezer. This is in part because of the items I plan to store within it on a regular basis and in part to cover for the potential of it breaking, or power outages, etc.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- It has lots of space, quite a bit more than I was expecting which made me extremely happy since I can hold more beverages in it. I usually store about 24 (16.9 fl oz) water bottles, 4 mini cranberry juice (10 fl oz) bottles, 12 (12 fl oz) sprite cans, 11 (12 fl oz) coke cans, and a fridge-n-freezer box of baking soda inside the refrigerator section. I have not used the drawer at all and I have all of the top section of the door itself empty expect for the baking soda box. At current (as shown in the picture) I replaced some water for some gatorade and a large cranberry juice due to the heat outside. Usually I have water there, so take that into account when looking at the number of water bottles I generally store. I have no restocked the coke cans recently, but I have noticed that I can comfortably fit 24 cans of soda on that row, not 24.
- It barely makes a sound aside from the first 10-40 seconds of startup. In fact it is so quiet I thought it broke, only to realize it is simply quiet outside of the initial startup.
- It doesn't warm up my bedroom, which already gets hot from a gaming PC (more on this in the cons).
Cons:
- You will get a little frost buildup in the back of the refrigerator, but this isn't really that bad. Just be mindful of how often and how long you open either the fridge or freezer and it will not be an issue at all. If anything, it is there because that is the area where the cold air from the freezer comes in.
- The bottom drawer of the freezer is hard to get stuff out of if you have it completely full or if you have big items in it unless you pull it completely out. For me this isn't much of a con since I made a habit of taking the drawers out if it is going to take me more than 5-10 seconds to grab an item. This helps prevent frost buildup in the long run.
- There is no light in the freezer, but it isn't really that necessary unless you plan to open and close it frequently. If you plan to do this I urge you to get a proper full sized fridge/freezer unit.
- The sides of the unit get warm every so often as it cools items or continues to keep the items cooled off. This is normal, and unless you have it close to walls you shouldn't notice a difference in your room temperature at all. I personally keep about 3 inches on the left, 2.5-3 on the right side, and 7 inches on the backside from the surrounding walls and objects. This negated the heat issue I have seen other people have with any minifridge.
- If you or someone else accidently leaves either the fridge or freezer open you are likely to get frost buildup and a huge influx of heat into your minifridge. This happened to me recently, and it created some frost. I believe I caught it fairly quickly but was not home at the time it was left open. It is important to be careful with closing it all of the way.
End result:
Overall I love this minifridge, and it is very much fulfilling its intended purpose in making my life with a debilitating health condition much easier. BUT it works because I took my needs into account just as much as the capacity and capabilities of this specific minifridge. When deciding to buy this product you should consider how often you plan to open it, what you want to store, and why this size rather than a larger or smaller unit. Those will be key in how well it works for you. If I had room for a second one, I would consider getting one just for snacks but alas I only have room for the 1.

I just got it so the review doesn't reflect long term use by any means. I like that the freezer compartment is larger than most similar ones, in fact it's pretty spacious. I plan on keeping bags of ice and ice packs and such so it should be perfect. It's pleasingly designed (stainless steel looks beautiful and it has a light inside the fridge compartment) and came with no significant defects — except one of the fridge door shelf brackets had a small portion broken off that was lying in the fridge. I glued it back into place but it doesn't really affect anything and is almost invisible. Negatives: It was difficult to level. It only has adjustable feet on the front (with threaded holes but no feet on each rear corner — what's up with that?). My floor isn't very level so I had to place a piece of wood under one of the rear corners to get it level. It's pretty lightweight and fairly tall so if you don't open the fridge (top) with the handle, the whole unit will move. The handles are in the middle so not the most ergonomic and lower than where your hand would normally be placed. If it's opened there it won't move easily though.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Insignia™ Mini Fridge with Bottom Freezer. We're pleased to hear that you are enjoying its spacious freezer compartment and the appealing stainless steel design. It's also great to know that the interior lighting adds to your experience.
We appreciate your mention of the minor defect with the fridge door shelf bracket; it’s good to see you were able to resolve it easily. Your observations regarding the leveling of the unit and the handle placement are valuable, as they highlight areas for potential improvement.

I have purchased three other mini fridges in the past, and this one is my favorite. It got cold fast-cold food within thirty minutes. I have had this for about three weeks, and it stays quiet. I was skeptical about the freezer at the bottom, but it has been comfy to have the fridge closer to eye level since the freezer is not used as often as the fridge. I highly recommend this fridge!

My wife and I love the new fridge it’s definitely a quality upgrade from the normal small ice box we had in our room. It’s super light weight too and has so much space. I love how the freezer is on the bottom it will make it so much easier and less messy when it’s time to defrost it. Plus I encourage you to become a Best Buy plus total membership ($180 a year) which sounds like a lot but it covered apple care for my apple products I bought this year ( air pod pro max, 2 6th gen iPad minis for our kids and I upgraded from my iPad Pro 11 in to the new 12 in pro ) and what surprised me was even the ice box is covered all for two years plus you get extra discounts on different items, free shipping and discount with geek squad… I’m updating all my apple products from them now for sure lol if they sold groceries I’d be there every day. The apple care alone sold me now I gotta buy the wife a iPad mini too so I’ll be back soon. Thank you Best Buy and crew! Side note my wife regrets rushing to buy her iPad from target for the points although she won’t actually say it out loud around me lol Best Buy FTW!

It's actually really quiet really nice a little smaller than what it appears to be in a picture but I do like that the freezers in the bottom so one of my favorite parts but for a fifth wheeler it's actually perfect. If you're a drinker and drink beer this might not be the right size for you it'll probably hose to 16 oz six packs or you can buy cold cuts then will be perfect. I put it in my fifth wheeler and build a frame around it it actually looks like it comes with the fifth wheeler

Good little emergency size fridge with a nice freezer section. Bought it on sale. The first one that was delivered was dented so ended up returning it and they brought another one. Has held up nicely the only thing I don't like is that it has a hotel style temperature dial which can make it tricky to get the right cooling also it's more of a cooler rather than a full-on refrigerator so if you fill it to full it doesn't stay cold enough the freezer works really well which is why I bought it to be a backup to my refrigerator which was having issues and I needed a lot of freezer storage. It does Dent easily it had to be moved at one point and when it was brought back into my apartment there were little dents on the side and the front.

We purchased this as part of our daughter's graduation gift from high school. It is awesome... I stocked it with ice cream snacks for this summer 2023. I place 2x4 wood under each side to lift it off her bedroom carpet. She is very happy ro have her own fridge/freezer.

It’s a normal modern fridge scaled down, it looks very good and has the best freezer in a mini fridge out there! If you get this shipped expect dents, they have gotten better about packaging these but I still got one right on the top back corner but you would never notice it, I was able to get 10% of the price back to me so the dent ended up actually helping me out. Also the “recommended” cold setting is not that cold, don’t get me wrong this fridge can get extremely cold and even freeze your drinks if you wanted it to, just don’t keep it on the recommended and keep it on the 3 setting.

This is the best mini combo I ever purchased. My original one is 20 years old now. When I saw a large freezer that was at the bottom I bought 2 for my laundry room because it is so convenient for extra food storage especially when there are food shortages. Well designed for maximum use.

Product: Love The Color How Tall / Short It Is Easy To Set Up And Fit In Any Space. Refrigerator: Small Inside But If You Know How To Organize You Will Be Fine. Temp Is A 3 But It Works Really Great Even Had To Turn It Down Because It Froze My Milk. Freezer: Is Small As Well But It Really Freezes Really Good I Don't Like That It Don't Have A Light For The Freezer Part. Shipping Was Fast But It Did Come With A Few Dents….

This is the best I thought freezer on the bottom was just trying to be trendy but it allows you to put the compressor in the freezer compartment and allows the refrigerator compartment to be a cubed shape and hold more! Something much important is that items do not fall out of the freezer and onto the floor. The other models do that and there is nothing that can stop it. The other manufacturers won't tell you that there freezer can't be filled up but . It is also colder than any fridge /freezer I have owned and it a mini , this 4.9 cubic is next level!
has a tremendous three compartment freezer 100% usuable with a separate slide in drawer for ice cube tray, which is actually frozen beyond any levels that you'll ever hope in a freezer!

I made the purchase of this refrigerator for my apartment.
It seemed like a good size for someone who lives in a studio or small apartment. I like that the freezer is at the bottom.
I did not like that the refrigerator was hit and you can see the photo. I believe that I have not been the only one that has happened to him and I believe that Bestbuy must take care that this does not continue to happen.
