Small, solid 4-port charging brick for the house

I have had a few charging "bricks" over the years. This Insignia - 47W 4-Port Wall Charger has a few benefits that I find especially useful. First, it's tiny - and that's the biggest benefit of all. It weighs nearly nothing, and fits in a side pocket of my laptop bag. To be clear, it's not a super charger and can not perform some of the really high speed charging benefits that some chargers provide. But, it also doesn't get very hot. And personally, I prefer the slower charger as I feel that will help extend the life of my phone. It's not a slow charger though, and everything is charged within 2 hours. The size is exceptionally helpful, especially since I can travel with it. Also, the "stand" that comes with it is removable, to save slightly more space. It also looks nice. Because of it's small profile, I usually store it in my living room when friends/family need a quick charge while hanging out. It isn't noticeable, but the convenience factor has been helpful to everyone, so their phone can stay in the main room. I also like both the Type C and Type A options. I still have many Type A chargers, but for some of my newer watches that only have a Type C charger, this still works for a quick charge. The Insignia charger is a low-profile charger with 4 ports, and can be stored in a main room for friends/family to charge items and blending in. It charges quickly and is easy to throw in a bag when traveling.

Powerful, Inexpensive Charger For Your Devices

The Insignia 47 Watt 4-Port USB Charger with Power Cord provides rapid charging power and a durable high-quality cord designed to complement the needs of newer devices at a very economical price. It also provides a very convenient way to manage the multiple cable connections of your USB devices. Insignia is owned by Best Buy. It produces a broad line of consumer electronics products which have good quality and modest prices. Here is their mission statement: “We believe electronics should be dependable, affordable and easy to use. That’s why Insignia products are designed and tested to meet high standards of quality and functionality. Each product is built to last and designed with the user in mind. The result is exceptional quality at a very reasonable price.” Here are the key features of this great charger: • Insignia 47 Watt 4-Port Charger with 4 Foot Power Cord (Model: NS-WALL47W3A1CW) • 47 watt power transformer with 1 USB-C output port, 3 USB-A output ports • 4 foot white 120 volt power cord • Vertical stand • Input: 100 – 240 volt, 50/60 Hz, 1 amp • Output: 20 watts USB-C port, 12 watts max each USB-A port (27 watts total on USB-A ports) • Compatible with all iPhones 5 – 17 Pro Max, all iPads 4th-11th generations, iPad Mini, Air and Pro • Short-circuit, over-current, over-voltage and thermal protection on all ports • Designed to support Qi wireless charging • Weight: 5.9 ounces (8.1 ounces including cord) • Power block: 2.8 inches tall x 2.5 inches deep x 1.2 inches wide • One year warranty on parts and labor • Made in Vietnam The power block and cable are the familiar Apple Alpine White color and are UV-resistant to combat yellowing to retain their attractive appearance for many years. The power cord is very sturdy, thick and with reinforced connectors at each end. The substantial power supplied by the power block enables rapid charging of all iPhones, iPads and tablets. It is specifically designed to meet the power needs of the huge battery inside the newest iPhone Pro Max models. The four charging ports are divided into three USB-A ports and one USB-C port. The USB-C port provides 20 watts of power. The three USB-A ports each provide up to 12 watts of power but are limited to a total of 27 watts when all three are in use. To put this in perspective, Amazon includes a large USB-A power transformer with its Fire tablets (see photo). This transformer provides 9 watts of power and most people feel this is adequate. However, each port on the Insignia 47 Watt 4 Port Charger delivers up to 12 watts of power which results in faster recharging of those Fire tablets. The power needs of an Apple Watch and other small devices are easily met by using the USB-A ports. It is very convenient to have a Charger which includes a 120 volt power cord. It makes positioning the device much easier and saves valuable outlet space. No need to have three or more separate power transformers plugged into your wall outlets. Also, you can more easily manage the USB power cables if you can position the 4 Port Charger on your desktop or counter. How effective is the charger? I tested it by fully depleted the battery on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and measured the time required to achieve various charge levels using the USB-C port on this Insignia 47 Watt 4 Port Charger: 10%: 5 minutes 20%: 10 minutes 29% 15 minutes 37% 20 minutes 46% 25 minutes 53% 30 minutes 60% 35 minutes 67% 40 minutes 73% 45 minutes 79% 50 minutes 80% 55 minutes 83% 60 minutes 87% 65 minutes 89% 70 minutes 91% 75 minutes 93% 80 minutes 95% 85 minutes 96% 90 minutes 100% 120 minutes As you can see, in less than 30 minutes you can obtain a 50% charge and in about one hour you can be over 80%. Charging really slows as the battery approaches the 80% charge level. Apple actually discourages owners from fully charging their phones each night. They recommend that you charge the battery to 80% normally. I also checked the charger using a Qi wireless charging pad and the results were somewhat slower, but not appreciably. If you prefer a wireless charging arrangement you will certainly see an improvement in your charging times using this Insignia 47 watt charging kit. I am delighted to give this great Insignia 47 watt Four Port Charger a strong recommendation! Buy this modestly priced gem and your iPhone, Watch, iPad and Tablets will have all of their power needs satisfied and you will enjoy the convenience of much better cable management.

Charge 4 devices quickly at the same time

This is my second hi-speed wall charger from Insignia. What I like about this unit is that it has 3 USB-A ports in addition to the USB-C port which lets me charge multiple devices that don’t necessarily require higher or more powerful output for charging. The charger itself is roughly 2.5 inches square and 1 inch thick and like a laptop brick, requires a power cable to use. A 4 foot C7 cable is included, however, USB cables are not, so you’ll need to provide your own for charging your devices. The brick has a clean, matte, white design and is compatible with both 120V and 240V input, so you can use it while travelling internationally without a power converter. Of the 4 ports on the front, the top USB-C port offers Power Delivery charging with up to 20 Watt output (5-11V @ 2.2Amps), while the other thee USB-A ports each have a 12W output max, or 27W total when all three are used simultaneously. The adapter comes with a vertical stand, so the hub can be easily positioned vertically on a desk. The stand has non-slip silicone pads on the grips that hold the brick and on the bottom so everything stays in place without sliding. Since none of the ports can output more than 20W on its own, unfortunately you won’t be able to use it to power or charge devices like Chromebooks which typically require at least 30Watts. However, the USB-C port was able to deliver “fast charging” to my smartphone and performance was not impacted when plugging in additional devices in the other three ports. The adapter was successfully able to power/charge all four the devices I connected to the ports connected at the same time. There are no LED lights to indicate power or activity, so it is not a source of light pollution at night if used in a bedroom on a nightstand. The adapter may feel warm to the touch when devices are plugged into it. Since it doesn’t have a plug built-in and requires a separate cable, it’s not ideal for on-the-go use but is small enough to pack in a laptop bag, if needed. It’s a great way to consolidate multiple wall adapters into a single unit requiring only one plug, and positions USB ports away from a wall outlet while delivering fast, consistent charging for multiple devices.

Just What You Asked For. Nothing More

For what you're asking for, here. you're not going to be disappointed. The Insignia 4 port/ 47-watt charger is a neat little accessory to go in your computer space or your bedside coffee table to charge your smart devices, RGB lights, or maybe even your personal massage devices. I even use it to charge my coffee warmer. (See what I mean about the coffee table thing?) It comes with its own power source, in the form of a standard power cord. Pretty much, the same kind you'd use or get from your video game console. I'm not saying that you'll need it, but just in case you find yourself in need of a spare cord, it shouldn't be too difficult to find one around the room. As you can see, it comes with three USB-B ports and only one USB-C port. This could be a problem if you've got more Type-C devices that are in need of charging in this area. As I said before, you're getting the basics here, but if this is what you're looking for, you're getting a very good device. I just have to stress that if you need more Type-C ports, this isn't your device. Simple to get up and running, as it comes with the charger, power cord, and the stand for stabilization. I like it a lot. But I would've liked the option of having 2 C and 2 A ports. I'm sure there's an option out there for that, though. So, yes. This is a great charger for your desk. It's an easy buy.

    Compact and simple looking charger

The charger supports 47W consisting of: a. 1 USB-C Port (PD 20W) b. 3 USB ports (27W total, 12 W max/port) The package includes vertical stand and 4 ft AC power cord. It charge multiple devices at same time but how fast charge is limited to the max. As it is simple is in its form and usability, make easy to carry on to any place as needed, more over handy for trips due to its reasonably compact size (Height: 2.48 inches / Length:2.76 inches / Width: 1.18 inches ) Now, as observation when all of ports are used, the cables become a bit entangled as multiple devices of different sized being charge for. Kind of end up accommodating cables. But I think this is not unique to the this charger. What I wish it were better: a. Power cord material was made of nylon braid for ease of packing. b. Alternative power mode via usb cable. c. Include a LED light to see if it is plugged in to the outlet would be nice to have. d. Instead of USB-A have more USB-C. e. Cable management or a way to give direction to the plugged cables of devices. In overall, it is simple to use, and for being what is meant to charge with the type charging port can’t extend different point of experience.

This little charger ended up being way better than I expected. The size is perfect — compact but still sturdy — and the stand keeps it in place so it’s not sliding around my desk. The ports are spaced well so nothing feels cramped, and having the one USB-C with fast charging plus the extra USB-A ports makes it super convenient for all my devices. I’ve been using it for my iPhone, AirPods, and even my portable speaker, and it powers everything up quickly without getting hot. The 4ft cord is clutch too — long enough to place it where I want instead of being stuck right next to the outlet. Overall, it’s reliable, clean-looking, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Definitely worth it. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a simple multi-device charger that actually charges fast.
